I'm confused. I got the same totals from the 3rd line requirements
Donkey's Tail - 2130
Doggy Delight - 2000
Pink Valerian - 1400
Heirloom Corn - 1475

But why are the totals so much higher
Donkey's tail - 8520
Doggy Delight - 8000
Pink Valerian - 5600
Heirloom Corn - 5900

What did I miss? I know I went through the FAQs quickly, but then went back again and I can't find where those extra crops come from.
I don't know if I'm making any sense (my sleeping is really messed up right now!) Why is the total of donkey's tail 8520 instead of 2130? etc.

 

These numbers are based on the crop that will add 3 steps and to complete each level you will need to donate 4 times to complete the 12 steps for each of the level.

 

My strategy:

4080* Pink valerians
7100* Heirloom corns
5640* Donkey's tails
10700* Doggy delights

In some levels, 2 step crops can be delivered.
As you can see on Level 11 of chicken quest.

Once again....WHY ARE WE NOT having these events on the EVENT PLAYFIELD???

I'm growing my farm - NOT tearing it up all the time.

I agree with the majority above - not doing this event.

 

Here are the required amounts of event crops for each level, with my strategy highlighted in purple.



Donkey’s Tail: 11,460
Doggy Delight: 6,600
Pink Valerian: 4,080
Heirloom Corn: 5,900
Total: 28,040

There are a few levels where, as SahraB pointed out, options 1 or 2 require less event crops than option 3.

There are also levels where you can choose between a bit less of a longer crop or a bit more of a shorter crop. I went with more of the shorter crop because it would be a better fit for my harvesting schedule, but for others, growing a bit less of the longer crop might be a better option.

My plan is to harvest 3 times a day with donkey's tail + pink valerian growing on the green meadow, and doggy delight + heirloom corn growing on the main field and magical glade. Hoping I can grow regular crops for FSQs overnight but it'll depend on manure availability...

Edit: Made a few changes to my strategy to save on manure. There were a few levels where I chose doggy delight over donkey's tail due to space issues, but I decided I'd rather make more room for event crops on my fields and grow more donkey's tail than pay those prices for manure.

Charts and totals have been updated to reflect those changes.
