Thanks shooger, however its beyond game lag now. 24 mins and I harvested 1 field. Cannot get into the green meadow at all. Just shut it all down again. Just remind them to extent that timer clock please ;)

Now that all the lag is gone and the happy application of a 100% harvest bonus, I am on a roll with 368 drops from reeds. Best of luck to all.:)

I started my moving of buyable items last night...eventually gave up and went to bed, so getting a late start on the event, but I'm going as far as I can. Sashay, Chantay...work it girl! (thought y'all should have a little RuPaul running through your head while you farm, too!)

May I ask what the general consensus is on planting overnight? Do most of you just keep up with the 6.5 hour event crop and have a little lost time while sleeping, or do you plant something else? Its a moot point for me tonight as it's nearly midnight and I will be up again at 6am, but am thinking of the rest of the week.

After working up enough seed to fully plant the fields to be used for the event I will plant the event crop with manure and water during my "day" (15-16 hours). With a 6.5 hour crop reduced to 4.4 hours, that is 3 harvests. For overnight crop for drops I will plant roses with refinements, which will allow me to start "day" farming the next morning with a larger set of drops. At least that is the plant unless RL issues take precedence (as often happens). I don't finish as fast as some, but I usually get finished and still get sleep!:)

I too lost the first half hour of the event struggling to get the game to load. I really hope they extend the event a little. Even 1 hour would be nice. I lost half the day as I couldn't hang around till it was fix. Had a doctor appointment.

Finally have my first seeds planted. Now it's time to learn how to fix my tub faucet as the diverter thingy broke. No shower, only bathes equal a cranky family. I don't have time for that nonsense.

I'm going to give this a pass. My university is back in business with F2F classes, and things are too insane here for me to be able to pay attention to the game. I need to do some low-key farming for a while, where checking in from work is a nice bonus (if I'm lucky enough) instead of required.

Some events, I plant longer crops overnight to get better drops. Some events, I get up in the night and harvest the event crop and replant for morning. Some events I just let the event crop go overnight and harvest first thing in the morning. Much depends on drop rates.

I suspect that for this event, I'll try a longer overnight crop tonight and see how that goes. If I think I have the drops, I'll switch to 24/7 event crops and probably get up in the night to harvest. Insomnia is why that works - if I wake up in the night, getting back to sleep can be a problem, so why not get up and harvest the event crops?

Given that this is a hard event which requires roughly 3 full harvests of the event crop and 270 drops per day, I'd say anyone who doesn't plant longer crops overnight risks not being able to finish the event due to a lack of drops.
