I have to admit that I did something I can't remember ever doing ... just cut my losses, deleted two full fields of event crops and quit the event. Got a Quokka and a Party Spin (so a massive 88 coins collected after 112 tiles used. I did change my strategy according to the above suggestions but at this rate I was never going to get 200 coins plus I wanted the Quokka so I would have needed 280 coins. With just enough time to get use 245 tiles, this was an impossible dream so ... back to normal farming for me and attacking those FSQs! :D

I wasn't that impressed with the prizes either so that probably helped my decision. I also found I was pretty bored with the whole thing so maybe I have actually cured myself of having to do events. Who can say? But, like buses, another one will be following this one, it all depends what's on offer and at what price! :music:

    CR up and running. 8)
    Next, 3 x Joe's Diner Upgrades remained.

Note for those who do not know about the incident like me:
1-Once the CR is earned, place the Horticultural Robotics item on any terrain.
    2-Make the 1st and 2nd upgrades respectively.
3-You can then place it in the CR.
Do not attempt to place it in the CR without making upgrades. He doesn't already have Horticultural Robotics II in the inventory.
(Ps1: Those who know already know. This note is only for novices like me :) :D
Ps2: Or for those who do not pay attention. :music:;))

I am halfway done with the cloud row and I have got enough star coins for one Joe's diner upgrade.

Not going to get much out of this and I guess the cloud row won't work without the robot upgrades?

Main farm got enough star coins (400) for all upgrades (2 for Horticultural Robotics and 4 for Joe's Diner) after placing 174 fabric tiles. :music:

Currently at 196 fabric tiles placed and 455 star coins earned - average of 2.32 coins per tile.

Results from my side farms, where I'm taking a more relaxed approach after getting a late start:
    Farm 1: 182 star coins / 83 fabric tiles = 2.19 coins per tile
    Farm 2: 202 star coins / 84 fabric tiles = 2.40 coins per tile
    Farm 3: 211 star coins / 85 fabric tiles = 2.48 coins per tile

Minimum average needed for 400 star coins after placing 245 fabric tiles = 1.63 coins per tile

My average on all farms is well above that so I think it's safe to say that none of them would have any trouble getting all upgrades after placing the requisite 245 fabric tiles. ;) But none of my side farms are interested in the upgrades for either the CR or Joe's Diner, as I rarely play on those farms anymore.

    Way to go, 12ss12! :D

Good morning everyone. Phew. I sort of like this event. Its just a basic plod along kind of thing. I learnt last time, don't waste time on the rubbish. But of course then I was interested in Stars :).
Laid 156 tiles so far and have 253 star coins, so grabbed the Diner upgrades. I tend to get the blue tiles on the small games so havent been able to do much with them. The best run I have gotten is 49 but its mostly 11 or under. It keeps throwing me the orange and white tiles. Don't know if I am interested in the Cloud row though. Really cannot make up my mind there at all. Its probably a mute point though seeing as I have already spent those 200 coins that would be for the robotics upgrades. You never know.
I just wish we didn't have to lay waste to 2 tiles to quit a game sheet and those swap buttons being more readily available would have been nice. Have really only been getting 1, 2 or 3 from each 2 field harvest.

For reference, the ratio of buttons when breeding seems to be 1 in 10. I threw in 132 chicken breedings just to see and got 14 swap buttons. I've only just done that so haven't been able to utilise them.

Edit - on a way out there sidebar... Is anybody else fed up with the way the crates open now? Its scroll, scroll, scroll... takes so much longer.

CT: I agree on the crates - and when you scroll forward, it goes forward two pages but only goes one page when you go backwards! (Or perhaps it's just mine!) :wuerg:

I have a system: Find and open the Crate(s) O'Crates first then go back one page. Once those crates are all open, scroll forward (which will take you two pages forward each time), open those crates, scroll forward - wash, spin and repeat - until you have reached the end of the crates. Then go backwards opening the remaining crates en route. Eventually you will reach the last (or should that be the first) crate page. Always check the next page (which is two pages forward, one back!) after opening these crates as some of the crates contain crates!-.-
Boy, even the explanation was boring ... please feel free to ignore my ramblings! :D

Back to topic - I am really not missing all the "fun" of this event! Glad to have it behind me and am enjoying chipping away (ever so slowly) at those FSQs! :music:

Yes, its terrible and its not just you. It's like they took away the ability for the crates to vanish from screen when all of that type are opened, but behind the layer a new crate takes its place that you cannot access. So when you scroll forward one page, you miss those 10 crates and have to scroll back for them. I used to sit there and just get my mouse pointer in the right spot on the bottom middle crate and click click click click without moving until I only had the first 5 left.
Today I did the crates backwards from the last page to the first. It was a little better but still so slow.

I have tried the strategic tips for gaining star coins. Many boards I just place a few and then finish in the hopes the next board will be more denim patch friendly. The board above that players have reported gaining 96 coins from, I just didn't get that fortunate. I used all my swaps for that round and the denim just didn't materialize. I have gained enough coins to get the CR upgrades and now working on the diner upgrades. I really want a Quokka stable too, so still working. Not sure how much more I can do....today is a medication change for Mom. Last time we changed this medication, she had a seizure within a couple of hours. Hoping today is better for her.

May you all have a lovely Sunday :)

first of all I want to congratulate the farmers who have more than one farm
I have one and I'm running out of time with it
    you are really great congratulations
As for effectiveness, I'm very bad at this game.
I actually placed 246 tiles and only earned 130 star coins
    I'm terribly
It's been like this before, I can't like this event
    yes i can't

I got lucky yesterday and managed to hit a couple of +1 harvest bonuses, which I took full advantage of. I've taken Zero's advice and changed up tile placement. I'm now up to 229 fabrics placed and 327 coins. I think I will finish this barring any disasters on my end. I really want the Quokka as well and at this point, I have enough coins for that.

Edit: CR up and running and my little Quokka is on the field. Now just working towards some of the diner upgrades.

.... that board wasn't this event so don't feel bad.
I've had a couple of 42 and 49 boards and that was solely because I used what little swaps I could and was lucky. So many games where the denim just didn't show up. If I hadn't have wasted some chickens for breeding (whoop whoop 14 swap buttons from 132 breedings) then it would have been worse still.
I'm done. I cannot be bothered going any further and am not interested in the cloud row or the Robotics upgrades. 208 tiles and 336 star coins, so I have my diner upgrades, the quokka pen and 8 party tickets.
Good luck to those that are still trying.

That board has been very good to my farms and really helped boost their coin-to-tile ratios, but not much you can do if the denim patches fail to show up when you need them. :(

Hope the med change for your mom went smoothly and you have better luck with the other boards.

    Thank you zerodegrees :)

I think the best round I had was 32 coins for one board. Still working on this event. I have been using all my swaps on boards that only have a few patches to work with. (that is I mean to say only a few patch options not the size of the board) The boards that have lots of fabric patches, I usually just place the required amount and move on. Some rounds only gain 1 or 3 coins. I have placed more than 300 fabric patches and am now working on getting coins for the quokka. I think I can still do it but would feel more comfortable if I could get a farmwheel bonus and/or a board that gave lots of denim :)

Thanks for the good wishes for Mom. Med change has had mixed results. Nurse comes tomorrow and we'll discuss what to do next.

I found that after SL's farm got the cloud row, the number of boards with only 3 or 4 options for tiles became more frequent. Not sure why... SL's farm has been very lucky with the wheel - got a 100% bonus this morning, 2 +1's yesterday. So has gone all out and also currently using a 200% buff in the diamond slot. Just got the 4th diner upgrade - now to see if that farm can snag the crates of buffs.

My other farms are doing poorly with this event, neither this farm nor PM23's has the cloud row. PM23's at least has enough coins to purchase the upgrades to the giver. This farm can't even get that far. So there is some pure dumb luck involved - you either get the denim tiles or you don't.

Crates: When I want to open crates on any of my farms, I set the search to AMOUNT and put the word CRATE in the search box. Close and re-open the window. You will have your crates in order from most to least. Now use the right side button that takes you all the way to the end. Work from the least amount of crates to the most - this way the zeroed crates won't get replaced by new crates from the right. I generally don't open single crates - So I scroll to the left until I reach the crates where I have at least 20 and then open them. Exceptions are crates of buffs, crates of CCs and crates of EP - those I save up until I just can't stand it any more and open them. Other exceptions are crates of poo, and anything that gives green wheel tickets - those I open just a few at a time because you can max out far too easily.

Event is over and the final results are in for my main farm (MF) and side farms (SF).

MF: 849 star coins / 380 fabric tiles = 2.23 coins per tile
    SF1: 563 star coins / 217 fabric tiles = 2.59 coins per tile
    SF2: 525 star coins / 217 fabric tiles = 2.42 coins per tile
    SF3: 608 star coins / 217 fabric tiles = 2.80 coins per tile

MF had 569 star coins when it got the CR at 245 tiles. :music:

Pups, praying for you and mom, hope things are better today and you are able to find the right med option.

I don't know how I did it, but I was able to get the 90+ star coins board once, and a few giving 30 and 50 something. o_O Most of the rest were low, low numbers of denim tiles, but those few good boards saved me. I followed the advice on switching out the tiles and stuck to blue denim as much as possible, so I didn't get a bunch of extra goodies like SG or PF, but somehow managed to buy the items I wanted most. No idea how many total tiles, but managed to secure both robotics upgrades, all the diner upgrades, the Quokka, and the 3 Crate 'O Buffs, so I'm happy. :) And the CR, of course. I could have done more, but we took a drive to the mountains yesterday and were gone all day. It was actually really nice to enjoy the drive and not have to fret about missing harvests (are we allowed to do that??? xD ). I won a +1 bonus at the start, and combined that with the +1 from season coins and the short growing time when using SG, and got a good stock of plants built up (I knew we'd be going on the all-day excursion, and wanted to get ahead ;) ), so I was a day ahead on growing, otherwise I would have not done so well. Congrats to those who were able to complete their goals, even if the goal was enjoying not doing the event! :D
