Halloween Monster Hunt

My first attempt did not get me more than 1870 points so i have rethink to capture other monsters within a boundry shape fingers crossed i get far more points also have to plan ahead to form a possible shape too

I seem to be getting better each gane, but by the time this ends I may be getting a good score. Right now, highest is 31,000

edit: My first game was about 1500. I didn't pass 10,00 until game 8

 

I've decided to stop at the cloud row. Though I'm disappointed with myself that I couldn't reach my initial goals, I think it better to realize this just doesn't lie within my skill set. I was prepared for a learning curve with the hope that after a few games I would get the hang of it, but I haven't. 43 games and avg of 35k points per game. Highest score 71k gave me hope I was on the right track. I just never had a "Ah-Ha" moment. I'm not willing to be upset or frustrated nor am I willing to grow the oodles of crops needed to reach those goals.

It is a cute mini game. The drop rate is good. The prizes are decent. It is a good to try something new. It is offering a new challenge. To those who can figure it out, I wish them well This old dog can't learn new tricks so I'm going back to normal farming and plant crops that fit with real life.

My best game is just over 95K, but my average is still 28K, which goes to show that the number of bad falls outweigh the good. It is not only any skill but luck of the draw. I've so many sets where they just fall in almost lines with no hope of rounding up any extra monsters, so you are reduced to just chains. @puppiesnponies - you are doing better then me and I play similar chain things a lot. This is weighted against us.

 

I think i going to abort this event, As i cannot work out how to get more points 30,000, 50,000 or higher as 58000 is needed for the first step

i have been reading postings here also i not have been farming regularly either wont to be able to play that many mini games to get to CR

Also the Mini game is very time consuming also stressful and Frustrated takes fun out of this event for me so i going back to normal farming stock up MM Crops and Fruits

I wish all of do your best with this event also well done to those getting very high score too

 

Too much thinking and strategy needed to play successfully. That can be done for few games. But to keep up your energy for more than 50-100 games is cruel. So I am not concentrating on the right side rewards. Whatever comes the right side I am ignoring. 43 mini-games for the cloud row. After that I will do if I have time and energy. But will not be wasting my farm resources.

I too aiming only for the cloud row.

Normal Farming is a change I am resorting to now a days. Back to happy old days, 12 years back.

I agree completely. Many times its just lines for me. Average is low. Only one in several gives great score.

Same problem for everyone Mooboy. Just do the minimum to get the cloud row. Leave out the right side reward. They are just carrots hanging in front of a horse. We can't be stupid horses falling for carrots, can we ? Hope everything is fine with you. It will be much more better soon. Just give it some time.

 

It took a lot of experimenting to work out a strategy. At the start of each game I choose one colour that looks closest to forming a connected circle. I clear out the blocks of other colours starting from the lower edge and focus on the edges. It takes 7-8 goes to form a large connection for a good score. Then I use +1s collected from the other colours to create smaller connections. Usually this strategy works OK if the colours are well scattered.
My highest score is 103,240 and the average after 37 games is 47,467.
It's a bit of a brain burner and frustrating at times but I don't mind having a different kind of challenge.

I absolutely love the mini game despite it taking ages, wearing out my poor old brain cells and just hoping for a good spread of colours that meet up. I too have decided to concentrate on the cloud row side. My average is just over 50,000 per game so there is no way to even hope for the BB tree. Good luck everyone.

I am playing it in my second farm too. After a long time (may be years), I am doing an event simultaneously in my second farm too. Its because of the mini-game. Scoring high points is easy in my second farm. Not so in the main farm, 12ss12. What to do !

 

Blaah! I HATE this, I´m matematican and totally lost!

RECORD score 73680 points - in game 3 ! And now played 51 games

and second best score not even close to that 73680! Average 39705,8 so almost/only ~HALF of this REC!

No Grabby, no Piccolo, no BB-tree! BUT lose over 1200 SG!

I don't think its humanely possible to complete enough games to get the BB tree unless one uses all buffs CAC, supergrow, suzy supergrow and harvest bonus from farmwheel during the event.

I tried that but it didn't load. But I've experimented with the type of link and this seems to work:


83 games played. Average score - 73,493 points. High score - 116,810 points.
Resources used - around 100 party spins which gave me 2x 100% bonus and a 200% bonus. Also around 3,000 SG, which was a lot more than I needed to as I was making instant Amaranth to get the necessary drops as well as growing crops.

I wish I could summarise my strategy for people who are still struggling to get good points on this game, but a fair bit of it is intuative. I can try, though:
- Start with choosing a colour for the line along the bottom. Fix that line if needs be by dropping monsters of the right colour down from higher rows.
- Then fix the sides by removing any monsters of the wrong colour til you have unbroken sides.
- If you're not going to be able to fix some bits, make a bonus monster of the colour you're choosing from spare monsters in the centre.
- Last, make the top of the ring by hollowing out groups of monsters from the middle of the square.
I take about 6 moves to make the first ring. Don't be afraid to spend extra moves making the loop extra good, at the top end every extra monster you can include counts for a lot. Then I have several bonus monsters of the colours I didn't use, which helps me make the next loop(s). I try for 3 loops, on around move 6 -7, move 9-10 and move 12. But 2 good loops beat 3 mediocre loops. The best loop I got was worth over 51,000 points and the theoretical maximum is 82,000 points. Small loops and lines barely add anything to your score. Try to always get at least 5 monsters but otherwise don't worry about the score for anything but the big loops. All other moves are just to form big loops or get bonus monsters.
