    Hello,

In my market, mulberries sometimes hit 6k a berry. I wonder if there's any reason behind this? I also notice that gooseberries are consistently high as well.

I'm hoping to become a good market trader and any tips would be appreciated.

    Hello BahamaLlama,

That would be due to our dynamic market. More information about the behaviour of the market you can find >>HERE<<.

As for another tips, stage is free for our experienced market traders to share ;)

Platypus, swans, ladybug and badger all use Mulberries to make their feed. Gooseberries are used for feed for scorpions and roadrunners and another that I cannot find. The way I got started making ccs in the market was pumpkins for pumpkin jam, but nowadays I grow for CAC (carrot and apple chutney) which needs carrots, corn and onions in the crop lines. I would recommend being a carrot farmer and selling these. I make about 3,000,000 every second day selling carrots.

Yes - the laws of supply and demand which fuel any capitalist economy are at play on our markets. Think of our little farmer's markets as microcosms of real world economies.

When something is hard to get and in high demand, the price goes up. Way up in some cases.

In the case of Gooseberries, the demand went high upon the introduction of the gecko. That was on top of the roadrunners and the scorpions. Three feed that need gooseberries and in high quantities.

As I mentioned in your other thread, there are things that a farmer can grow and sell and get quite wealthy. Wealthy enough to afford to buy CAC in bulk at any price.

Some farmers find this aspect of the game to be the most interesting. I know that imalattanhalka monitors and sells on market #9 frequently. I often buy from him as I have 4 farms on #9. I appreciate that he understands the concept of a perceived bargain and knowing when an item is over-valued and how to price to sell when that happens. It also then affects that market's pricing on that item.

Every market is different, and sometimes, due to lack of player interest parts of a market can become "broken". Such continues to be the case with market #9 - the breeding animal portion of that market continues to be depressed. My suspicions are that many of the farmers on the #9 server are veteran players and they seldom need to buy or want to sell colored animals. So the dynamic nature of the market is depressed/suppressed and non-functional. It's atrophied. Can happen in the real world, too.
