I've sent one. I can still send 4 items, if anyone needs it.

This is not a direct event strategy, but it may be helpful to some farmers.

If you are done gathering Winter Korean Fir Cones needed to obtain all the prizes, you can donate them to upgrade your Baha Arboretum. Their exchange value is 3045. For me, it was worth donating them rather then waiting for the exchange value we get after the event. I saved my permanent tree stock this way.

Hello all!! Happy New Year. So, I have the CR and put the items in the CR to activate. Is the only way to get the Cookie Station and the Frost Metal Givers are by getting over 2500 cardinals and over 9000 Korean trees? Or buy them in the shop?? I find that a bit much. I finally made it to the top of the mountain and don't have everything for the CR?? Really? A little frustrated here!

You can buy them using trivia coins. Each cost 200 trivia coins.

It sure is a slow slog to the top. I'm surprised I've climbed as far as I have, but doubt I'll get the CR. Too much going on in RL, but I've enjoyed the comments and learning something new when I've had time to pop in the game. No time for baking and I'm lacking in festive cookies to get needed items and would really appreciate them when it's my turn for a gift. ;)

A happy and peaceful new year to everyone! And thank you for all your good wishes.

It's indeed a slow, slow way up to the top, a real mountain climb with many a rest in order to take a few deep breaths. It took me a while to realize I could get to 'the top of the mountain' by means of a click on a button. Had only used that part to get down the mountain again.:music: Was so pleased with myself to have reached the (what I thought odd-shaped) mountain top and then it turned out there was still half a mountain to go. Planting and harvesting are feasible, but the cookies are few and far between, still need 68 of them (to open the crates on the top of the mountain, don't dare to use them to speed up the boxes on the bottom of the mountain) and hope the keys will pop up in time. No idea if I'll get the CR; have one of the items to go on it and saving for the other three. I do like all the mini games and the way we can choose when to do which.
A very big 'THANK YOU' to Nordais for the wonderful lay-out and explanation of the event and to Nala 777 for the fantastic list with all the Q&A. And a general 'thanks' to everyone who contributed in this forum, you are a fountain of information.

Against all the odds I finished yesterday. I did win 100% extra harvests and plus 1 crops which helped a lot. I also used powerfeed on the pens to get enough cardinals etc. It is such a muddly event so I am amazed that my poor old brain coped but without all you lovely people giving tips I would still be growing crops. Thank you to one and all. Happy Farming.

How do we upgrade the Baha Aboretum? I just bought a second one from the shop and think this is different from what you mention. To increase the number of trees, I only needed to add blueprints and tools.

Is there a quest that needs Baha tree donations to upgrade? I vaguely recall one from long ago, but can't find any current ones relating to the Baha Arboretum. Sorry, might need stronger glasses 8)

Second question... any suggestions on strategy to get more cookies. I am stuck needing several batches and have a good stock of crops. I have been focusing on fir trees and just contributed enough to get a real/forever fir. I played the holiday fit the pieces game to get fir trees but now that I have a forever fir, maybe I should focus on cardinals/a different game? I have the two small givers for the CR and also the cookie station. Hope to get enough tokens for the last giver and maybe the cardinal nest, but think I might only get enough for one of the two.
Have 94 trivia coins and 148 gear tokens atm.

At the top of the mountain, I am at the brown box which needs 20 cookies to wrap and only have 5. Doesn't seem like good strategy to keep growing crops I won't be able to use. Off to sleep and maybe inspiration will bloom with the new day tomorrow!

    Hi,

About your second question, you can get an insane amount of drops (cookies and ball ornaments) with instant animal farming. Of course, for better use of your time and food and to get the maximum drops and animals, it’s better to use this technique with some preparation. I’m kind of new to that too, I’ve only done it 3 times, so I need to refine my preparation, but it is so worth it, even if you just want to stock animals.

So just to give you an idea, I’ve gotten over 2600 winter cardinals, 5800 cookies and 4700 ball ornaments in less than a day, which is way more than we need. I achieved that using bonus from slots (diamond, gold…), magic stalk rows, spinning wheel and decorations, especially “Flower spray art (+)” and “Mighty mower (+)”, which you can easily get with Piccolo boxes, and “Neon butterfly cocoon V”. I used 6 flower spray art, which was obviously too much because I got instant farming, even with the longest stables, and ran out of food on pretty much everything…

    Hope it helps you!

    Hi MeadowCrossing,

To get the blueprints needed to upgrade the Baha Aboretum you need to complete the associated quests that offer the blueprints.
There are 4 The Bahama Arboretum Quests 1-4.
They ask for donations of Baha Animals, Tools, and Baha crops/trees. (you may have completed them all already and that is why you do not see them)
I donated to the first step of each until I reached the Crop/Tree portion of the quests, then I used the Winter Korean Firs to donate to those steps. I hope that helps clarify things a bit.

My baby farms gave up this morning. They started the top of the mountain, but will not get enough keys to get past that first bunch of boxes. So I've decided to save my sanity and stop where I am. Also saves harvester coupons for the rest of the year. Will play off all the board games remaining to garner as many goodies as each farm can.

Good morning! Just beginning my day on this side of the pond. My game clock resets in an hour, so I came here after collecting my freebies from the event mountain.

I believe you are correct that I completed those Baha quests and that's why I don't see any upgrades needing trees. Will check out @Aiyanah suggestion about the mighty mower as I do have one of them with a few remaining charges.

Sincerely appreciate all the great tips. Good luck everyone still climbing that rock...I can hear the strains of The Sound of Music in the distance!

Hi, hope I'm not too late, but it's really a few charge of FLOWER SPRAY ART that makes the big difference and get you to really fast harvest of animals, and any other bonus that will speed up your production like some cloud rows and Valentine's pot. It's a good time to also use the mighty mower because it gives you +1 animal, but in this case, it's useless for getting drops...

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for your suggestion...alas, I don't have any flower spray art, but I did use my Mighty Mower and a +1 stable bonus then added a Pinkest Pie. Family visiting for the holidays left yesterday, so things in RL are settling a bit, but still busy.

Update: after post above, I went to the mountain and to my surprise and delight, discovered I had enough items to open the brown box and continue up the top of the mountain. Thank you all who sent me cookies as that gave the boost needed. :inlove:

I think this is an interesting event, but timing for its introduction isn't ideal as most of us are often extra busy with RL at the end/beginning of new year and just don't have the time to focus on the myriad aspects of this new event.

Okay smart people is it better to buy several stalls and trees with gear coins or buy the one up grade for each? Got one of each from the 90 missions just trying to figure out best way for coins. Thanks for your input!

Not so smart but IMO, I think, with regard to the pens, they give the same but an Orange pen will only take up one space. I am aiming for the Orange pen. :p

Regarding the tree upgrades, not really much benefit except time (10, 9, 6 hours respectively). I suppose you could argue that you get more fruit over the day but I would probably say another base tree if I had to choose (which I don't think I can, it's one or the other!). :music:

I agree with Illy and would do the same if I had a surplus of tokens.

I was lucky to harvest enough winter fir to get the forever fir, but if I had to chose between a cardinal and fir, I'd personally go for the fir, just because I prefer trees. (pun intended!)

Adding to this, I just checked my mission board and discovered I've been mulching and SSG my winter firs since the weekend only to realize I collected all winter fir rewards. Thus, I wasted a lot of SSG and manure on harvesting more.

Just have not been able to keep track of all the layers. I shall now delete the winter firs and put down plots in the hope to reach the CR's prodigious number of candy canes. I hold little hope of getting a cardinal nest as I've not played the jigsaw puzzle game which rewards cardinals, but will switch now and see how far I get. :p

I bought both "plain" fir trees (for a total of 3 trees) and 1 plain cardinal nest and both orange upgrades (total of 2 nests w/2 orange upgrades) - on SL's farm. This farm has 2 plain trees and one plain cardinal nest with one orange upgrade. The baby farms, well, pfft.
