No, Illy, you don't need to. As you have mentioned, Garden Spades are hard to get..... I planted 12 Lady's Slippers in all but only one or two at a time. Towards the end, I did lose track of the total number though :wuerg:xD and was pretty sure that I've completed the task. But actually I needed to plant a couple more. So, I kept producing and planting LSs and (checking Village Square as well) finally it was all done and dusted. :D

Illy, I have never had to plant all the seeds at one time. There is an internal counter that keeps track. But the rare Garden Spades are only found from the longer growing plants. They do get easier to find once you get higher and are looking for the rakes. Those too are like hens' teeth for me. Good luck!

I get them from all plants, even from Alpenrose, but it is better chance to get them from longer plants. Garden Spades are the rarest drop, rakes are much easier. Cottongrass seeds require Garden Spades also.

Thank you all for your responses, just have to keep collecting those garden spades! :p

Okay, looking through this thread, I seemed to have missed a couple of points.

I am at level 25 and don't now where or how to open this part (Sunflower Hill?). o_O

How do I get the CR or is this on the main farm?o_O

    :music:

Edit: WOW! I should read these things in a little more detail! I just fell across Sunflower Hill by accident! More space for mainland critters and trees. Fantastic! :inlove:

Now, if I could just find the CR, I will be delirious! xD

Another edit: Can I put Manufactories, Menageries, Jumbo Trees and Animals on Sunflower Hill? :p

Yes, we can place everything except the Illy fields, and as we progress towards the Alpine levels, parts of the sunflower hill open up and there's more space, which is nice. I'm currently at level 43 in the Alps and have two more fields to unlock.

Thanks, ç.çiftçi, I'm getting very excited about how to fill the space already and there is so much more to look forward to. I am absolutely loving it and so glad that I made a vague attempt to do EV - it is paying off! ;)

This farm is inching slowly and steadily towards level 22. The reasons I bothered to open EV on this farm are: #1) the giver at level 5, #2) & #3) the CRs at levels 10 and 15 and #4) Sunflower Hill at Level 25 (plus expansions at higher levels).

Each player should open Edelweiss Valley once the can just because of the giver at level 5 and the two cloud rows on level 10 & 15. They affect all of the tree fruits made in the game. This is a big game changer because players can free space of by lowering their amount of trees out in the fields and still have the same output of tree fruits. Sunflower Hill is also great to put out menageries and arboretums to keep things going while harvesting normal/event crops on the two main fields!

I agree with everything Nordais said, I think I leveled up quickly thanks to the abundance of fruit and the extra benefits of cloud ranks.

Just to clarify, we get the CRs automatically or do we have to unlock them/buy them? :music:
I am at level 25 and don't remember any CRs being won ... :p

After reading through all the conversations here, I changed my mind about EV and am saving my stars to open it. Thanks for all the trailblazing done - it will be a huge help once I begin. :D

You will get them automatically. I think you have to look in your incomplete rows to find them

How do I get Alp-EP (Aep)?
    • by performing specific actions (recycling)
    • Aep is obtained by solving Customer Requests

Thank you enk52 and everybody else who has helped me with all my nerdy questions! ;)

MeadowCrossing: If you can take all this info in, fine but I started off very slowly, checked here if I had any problems but gradually built up and set myself little goals. I am very happy with my progress. :)

Update five months later: I have now opened EV and read through the previous posts in this thread. Doing my best to figure out how things work and the best sequence in which to make steps. (all the while, trying to remember what I've read. Don't ask me to keep notes - I lose papers!)

    A few questions:

I'm at level 4...is there any way to increase the drop chance for flowering branches used in customer orders?

I have 22 keys. What is the best thing to use them for?

I made one badge and now forget what it did, but believe it was filling a rune on the path towards a level 5 Apricot tree (which is a task from Alice) In early stages, is it better to focus on filling customer orders or make badges using fruits?

Today, I discovered a second customer: Irina and she asked for only fruits. I filled it just because it was new and I had the fruits, but should I save the fruits to make a badge instead?

Do we get more space at a certain level, or do we need to do something specific to open more land space?

Which lock do I need to click to open more Northern Woods space?

PS No idea how I reached level 4 as I accidently clicked the critter in the main screen and had a notice to collect rewards, which turned into a new level up. :p

Thanks for any help. I am trying to remember what I read, but RL is still 'so distracting' that I have been unable to keep track of what I'm doing in the game!

Longer trees are more likely to give them. I would say collect your trees so often as you can. You'll end up having surplus of fruits, so you can make badges and fill orders and recycle. And hopefully you'll get some flowering branches as well.
Stage 4 I would use them open second slot of converter to get more AEP to get level 5. It gives The Ice Stag. https://board-en.farmerama.com/threads/edelweiss-valley.43244/#post-291677
Both, choose which is best at that moment. If you aim for something you need badges, choose badges. I prefer custom orders, which gives trees, it saves ingredients and crafting station slot for doing more or something else.
She comes only during weekends and she asks one time fruits and another time plants. You'll get AEP from all orders you fill. You'll get two more customers on higher levels. If you need AEP or consumable goods she gives, choose orders. If you need badges more, choose badges.
You'll get in certain level, but you'll need badges to get it. Mouseover the lock tell which level you'll get it and which badges you'll need to open it.
Do not click the lock. Click to ground near it, where the owl is lying down. Owl shows always the next lock.

Thank you so much for the very clear information and for responding to each question. This cleared up several areas where I was confused and not understanding the process. I also now understand AEP and how/where it comes from! I checked the Converter and am currently waiting on two misc. recycling items with potential results of 400 AEP! I'll collect one tomorrow morning and that should bring me to level 5 and the Ice Stag! Now that I understand AEP, I will calculate the amount given for customer orders and use that to determine if I use fruits for badges or for the clients! Thank you again. I'll be back again with more questions, I'm sure ;)

@MeadowCrossing you will need to alternate between badges and orders, there's no way around it. Gaining level in EV is quite hard. Badges are needed to upgrade your trees/seeds and boost their worth so it's a good thing to do badges. You can always give the flowering branches to your customer each day, at some point you'll be swimming in them!

When you gain a level, you may get the option of upgrading some section of your warehouse and you will need badges for that... If you're crafting wood planks, make sure to use the small ones so that they do not fill up your inventory and block you from cutting down trees.

EV is a all new way of playing that requires a lot of patience and planning. Good luck!

Thanks, Northy...I managed to craft a badge this morning and have two options...use it to open more land/space or unlock/blueprint for the Tart Cherry Tree. Wondering what to do and would appreciate suggestions.

Thanks for suggestion for the flowering branch order. I hadn't thought to do that and was always using fruit to completely fill customer orders.

    PS...hope you're feeling better. :)

I would go for the Tart Cherry Tree. I found it was needed for the customer orders nearly as soon as I qualified.
