April Fool's Day fields - meaning and function?

Some are "pretend" to be 8x areas, others with a reduced growing time. Apparently both types of fields can only be cultivated by hand, not with a combine.

Please tell me when someone figures out how it works, APRIL PRANK, these are mud lately, that is, in recent years, the prank has been useful for the hardworking.

I put some of the fields "8x8" in the Bahamas according to the 3h58min growing time of the Additional Area and some "those others", not knowing what would happen.

I sprayed water on everyone so that they would be ready at the same time as the plants from the real event.

It is 01.48 AM in Finland ALSO and these fields have not opened up right away, are they just a blur and a trick or can they really be used somehow!?

Edit: "reduced" fields tells to me:

For the breeding time 47285930848 ÷ 43 = "something big number of time"

which doesn't seem to be the same in seconds as Bambu in the Bahamas usually is, when will they finish or will they ever finish?

 

I'm over at my in-laws. Fixing dinner. Stopped to harvest the event fields. I have no idea what this idiocy is or could amount to and I have no time or patience for it, either.

 

I am also not sure what these funny plots of land are supposed to be doing. Nothing more than something different to look at

I have four different 1x1 illustrations: Whack-a-Mole, Cosmic Call, Fairy Ring (main) and Underground plot (Baha). They are on all 3 of the main and Baha lands. They harvested and planted with the harvester like normal. The time on each of them matches the rest of the plots on that land. So far, I haven't seen any 8x8 plots like @Nuubi-Joonas2210 describes. They are only displaying over plants and not trees or animal pens at this time.

 

Yes I agree, and when I like leave Main land, and go to say Green meadow, and then go Back to Main the plots have all changed and moved around!

 

I planted sugarcane using both fields. The crop on 8x8 can be harvested after 15 minutes but the yield is just 5 per plot. The other field it says is supposed to shorten growing time but those fields after 2.5 hours are still not ready for harvest.... Yes, it is a joke on us.

 

I forgot it's April Fool's Day and ignored the infomercial about plots as I was in a hurry and went off to do my usual morning farming (btw, completed the Master Class with 5 Chimpanzee breedings).

Now after catching up in the Forum, I went back and checked my fields to discover without me doing anything special, some of my mainland field plots turned into Fairy Rings (the mushrooms in a circle on a plot).

Some of the Baha fields have Cosmic Calls (tentacles), Wack-a-Mole and Underground plots.

These plots show the same countdown to harvest as the original crop sown, so will see what happens at harvest time. I didn't lay down any of the new plots and now have no intention to do so

Look forward to reading more about how the pranksters have pranked players!

 

I haven't seen the 8x8 field option, but I clicked on some of the new plots and found out they are tunnels to other parts of the game. Not sure why, but I'm hoping someone else can figure it out while I sleep.

 

Wish I had come here first, just thought it was a joke and carried on normal farming! But, using the tab at the side, one of the plots is huge and gives a bountiful harvest, the other has reduced growing time but less harvest. On second thoughts, I am glad I bypassed it. It will probably be over by the time I can check it out properly!

You have to congratulate the Devs for giving it a go each year when we are all anticipating something - and usually we get irate cos we think we are losing something and that rarely happens. It's just a bit of fun!

 

Nope, I can't figure out this April Fool either. Put out some of the supposed 8x8 but they were still only 4x4 and didn't give anything extra (planted hay). Also tried some of the plots that are supposed to shorten harvest time but they certainly don't (also planted hay). Now I have half a field that my hay will apparently take 47286322317:06 hrs to harvest.

And I don't get what the purpose of the Whack-a-Mole, Cosmic Call, Fairy Ring and Underground plot are for either (except to annoy us). In previous April Fools if you click on the pop-ups enough you got a nice little prise but I've whacked that mole to death now and nothing happens.

Oh well, nice try by the Devs (thank you) but I'm not really seeing the fun this year (sorry).

 

As written, I put Meadow Grass on the "8x8" fields, growth time 3h44min and then Bamboo on the "others", growth time with water 3h28, so it had to be ready when the Additional Areas were after 07am.

Well, the aforementioned 8x8s were supposedly ready, produced the same as the 2x2 fields, the others still have 699000 HOURS left and are supposedly fast fields, there was no "weaving" and they were not repaired with a combine or by hand.

In practice, they can be removed with a shovel, that's where the plants went, and I grow those two "hand in hand", so I always have to have the same amount of them as both larger Bahamas areas are 41 BIG fields in volume.

What a complete joke, stupid!

And I don't even bother to think about what they're doing, it gives a 53 year old man the chills, tentacles and other one-screen weirdos are nowhere but in the Bahamas!

R-E-A-L-L-Y great, really super awesome - 700 Bamboo went completely wasted/lost, on top of that I also tried to put in super, it went from 700,000 hours to 25,000 hours.

When I then tried Vanilla from the box where there was that same orange highlight (Fairy Ring), I lost even more Super by double-clicking when it went away without even asking!

I have that too, I just assumed it was a bug, like a display issue! I would never have realised it was intentional. Are we sure it is?

 

I tried clicking on the different plots:
Whack-a-mole: nothing happens
Cosmic Call: nothing happens
Fairy Circle: brings up one of the mill windows or a fake daily calendar window
Underground plot: it is like jumping in a rabbit hole and you end up in a random land or park.

 

They're fun to look at, and -at least on my fields- when crops are planted the 'April-fools' appear. Once I water them, they disappear and will only return after I changed fields and come back. Haven't come across an 8x8 though. As to crops disappearing, I have no idea, haven't counted the harvest and haven't checked with my stock (too much of a hassle and counting isn't my strong point). Especially love the idea of having Fairy Rings on my field.

 

If you click on the left tab on your screen where you can manually place down plots, you will find these 8x8 plots and one that says it lowers crop growth time but also reduces the harvest amount. There was an announcement of the plots in the daily event calendar the first time I logged in on 1st of April.

 

I have clicked on the little ones and if my field is ready to harvest, they become empty. If my field is currently growing or empty, they only have the option for water, manure, etc. Nothing else happens when clicking on them. I have not seen anything bigger, just the 1x1.

I did find the larger squares in the menu to the left and saw that they would work on the easter field. Not sure whether to try it but I just might. Not sure I would have time since I just planted my field this morning and April first ends at 3 this afternoon my time.

 

I have to admit, this April Fool's joke wasn't as fun as I hoped, and I didn't understand anything, nor did I try anything.

every field i had crops in ..long time crops like amaranth and saguaro have been affected and i have lost crops with those stupid fields that serve no purpose.
i have harvested any april fool field available and recieved nothing.
waste of time and my crops

I am seeing these as overlays and no change to the harvesting on my farm. Simply "eye candy".
