i love soduku so this is right up my street. i do the hard one on the bbc website every day to tax my brain...and the prizes look appealing too, so im thinking this is going to be a good event for me! yay!!!!

 

I also love Soduku and was eager to see it come to the farm Some of the puzzles are quite time consuming. The prizes are good

I wish we didn't have to wait for the 2nd crop and do not really like the Black Market. I think it just drags the event out with a lot of waiting.

 

The game is very fun and enjoyable; I’ve just finished the first chapter, but now I’m stuck, not knowing what to do next. The "rusty spoon" isn't appearing on the black market—is there a problem, or did I miss something? It’s really frustrating to have the gameplay come to a complete halt while I’m actually enjoying it. It looks like I’ll have to wait 4 days, which I’m not happy about at all—I suspect other players are in the same boat... I’m tired of being made to wait for no reason Please, just let us finish the entire event and enjoy playing Sudoku!

 

My version of the 'Black Market' has lanterns and files available but no spoons or cups. I don't know if there's just one version of the Black Market or if there's different versions like the normal market, but I'm seeing the same complaint from a lot of people.

I'm not sure if the imbalance is chance, something gone wrong or a deliberate mechanism that will end when the next tower opens, but it's very frustrating. I hope it won't make me unable to complete the event - not because I did anything wrong but because I only got lanterns and couldn't trade.

 

I finished the first tower and it was a lot of fun. Now, stuck with a ton of files and no one on the black market wants them. Now, nothing to do in game but normal farming. I hate waiting around knowing the clock is ticking on an event and I can't do anything at all toward the goal and not knowing if I will ever be able to get any further through no fault of my own. It makes me wonder WHY I even keep doing this game after almost 17 years.

 

The Black Market is unquestionably faulty and, after three days, there's still no indication that anyone is taking action to fix it or that anyone acknowledges that a a serious problem is in place.

An example to document it: I'm looking for a rusty spoon, just one; there are hundreds of offers of rusty spoons (1 for 1) asking for either 1 file or 1 kerosene lamp in return; none of them are clickable; all of them are greyed out even though I do have both 1 file and 1 kerosene lamp in barn. Thus, I can't get the rusty spoon I need and so many offer in exchange for either a file or a kerosene lamp I do have. (It would suffice to read comments in the Strategy section to see everyone is having a similar problem).

Unless this is fixed, no one will be able to see any progress in the central tower.

PS1: Yesterday evening, out of a total of 509 offers, only 2 were clickable. Both, 2 for 2 (it was 2 files for 2 kerosene lamps). I made the mistake of clicking on one of the two just to test if it worked: it did, and I was left with 2 files I didn´t need for the first step of the central tower. I quickly put offers to get what I needed. None accepted so far. Therefore, another mistake.

PS2: I'm starting to wild-guess that the only clickable offers are the ones that only include the two items that I keep unlocking in the first tower (files or kerosene lamps) on both sides. It's a wild guess born from the attempt of making some sense of a market that doesn't work as it should.

 

What type of Sudoku even is this in the event? Not all of it is normal sudoku. It's not fun. It feels like an aggravating school assignment instead of a game/event. I also don't enjoy the black market concept. For the last event leading up to Halloween this year it's lackluster in my opinion. For those who like this type of sudoku, it could be great I'm sure, and if you enjoyed it that's wonderful, but for me I'm giving up because it just feels too much like schoolwork. I adore Halloween and usually love all the Halloween events on the farm, but not this one. Disappointed.

 

I love sudoku and was happy to see it brought into the fold of the event mini-games and then the event started... I have to call it: two tumbs down. This event combines everything that irritates me:

1- harvesting two full 202 1x1 event crops won't let us play 1 mini-game unless we use SSG or some bonus
2- the concept of "shaped zones" making it not a sudoku
3- having to buy the tool items with event drops after "winning" them when finishing a sudoku
4- just like the G&T event, having the black market limited to a small pool of players receiving all the same tool items
5- having to totally block the MM fields and Mushroom Forest for event crops for weeks with no end in sight
6- why would the Bribe Candy tab keep disspearing after we've purchased everything there???!!!

The 2 cloud rows are appealing and are quite good, so I understand that this event is not meant to be easy, but this convulated, nope!

 

I also am getting no where. I don't play sudoku as I have never liked it and now I am cause I love this game. However this black market thing is awful. Out of the four farms I have they all have files and lamps. I can't trade for any spoons or cups. If we were all randomly assigned items you would think that one of the four would have something different? This is a truly awful event and it seems that we are not getting answers on this.

 

Well, I used my coins to buy the pink slime and am off to do other more fun things instead. I may check to see how it goes in a day or two or three.

 

I'm okay with the minigame, and I understand that glitches can happen. However, I believe the Black Market issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Several players have reported the same problem, but so far, we haven't received any feedback from the game team.
I've been playing this game for many years, and I genuinely enjoy it. That's why this situation is disappointing—not because of the glitch itself, but because of the lack of communication. Even a simple acknowledgment that the team is aware of the issue and working on a fix would make a big difference.

The team has released a message like this, so I wanted to share it. We’ll have to wait and see—happy gaming, everyone! I hope everything turns out well.

 

Add me to the list of unhappy campers, er, farmers. I cannot get the items needed to even begin the climb up the middle tower so as far as I'm concerned, I've invested time and money (bought a basket for this farm and sewinglady's) for absolutely nothing.

 

I cannot participate in market because I only have files. I've finished 1st tower but ended up with zero lamps, spoons or cups.
Not fun!

 

Ok so I've been reserving judgment. I like Sudoku and am pretty good at it. I, personally, like this "version" and only struggled twice, and used the remove numbers option. BUT for a lot of people, I can understand why this would be exceptionally frustrating. I did particularly like that there was no timed effect AND we could delete/restart/otherwise backtrack with no penalty. So well done on that.

As said above, I don't love the whole "one week for this crop, wait until a date to get the second" - I prefer to move at my own pace, but again, I can see where for some people, this gives a feeling of fairness and equal opportunity. It can be quite intimidating to read that players with lots of resources have finished when that player is still on their first step. But one has to understand to play the game at one's own pace and also, as I have said a billion times, the event in this game are not designed for the "once a day" player - nor should they be! Events are supposed to be extra, not a staple. Enough of that.

My biggest contention, as with others, is the actual progress being stymied by... faulty? unclear? incomprehensible? mechanics. I finally figured out that one has to search for the item "wanted" to be able to get any green check marks - but then, the item WANTED shows on the wrong side of the arrow so is very confusing! And as said above, there are NO rusty spoons or tin cups available on my black market, so I cannot proceed. Previous iterations of the black market concept were fun and helpful. This one... is disagreeable.

On the whole, I like this event and would like to see this type of thing repeated. Fix the black market issue, maybe give everyone a few of everything but the ability to trade for more, thus making it an enhancement rather than a requirement. Leave Sudoku as it usually is, perhaps with harder puzzles as non - necessary steps. I have said before that personally I dislike the two week event concept, but as it goes on I am coming to see the benefits. Again, everyone will play their own way, and you cannot make all of the people happy all of the time. I appreciate seeing that the devs are making efforts, trying new things, and appear to be at least considering feedback

Although nothing seems to be posted, I am starting to believe that the order of the towers is from left to right, 1 3 2. We have done 1 and become stymied. Once we start/do the one locked for 3 more days, maybe the middle tower opens up along with the Black Market.
If so, I am playing other games since I finished the first tower on Saturday and am just growing things and finishing quests in farmers society.
