Feedback: New Farmerama Forum

We come from different backgrounds. It is difficult at times to know what each smiley stands for. Is there a way to put descriptions on them. What does eek, , wuerg mean? And which one is 'confused'???

Please place your cursor over your username in the top right corner, and there you will see a "Preferences" option. If you click on it, a small popup will be opened, and in it one of the options says " Use the rich text editor to create and edit messages ". Please make sure you have this box checked

Bhodho, there is a tooltip that appears after a couple of seconds of placing the cursor over a smiley In this tooltip you will see the description / meaning of it, and it's code if you wish to type it in instead of selecting it from the list:

I'm really liking the new forum. I think it's user friendly and easy to find your way around. I really Love the new calendar addition. The only problem I have is I do really miss the count-down timers.

 

I also like the new forum and having seen the other BP forums where there is no option to search by new posts I'm pleased to see that option here. Love the new smilies, but I miss the countdown timer too.

 

teddy, I've checked the box, saved, cleared everything and I'm still not seeing the toolbar. What else can I try? When I reply...I just start typing in the bottom box that already has my avatar next to it???? This will also make it impossible to load my siggy. Please help. Thanks

 

I really like the new Forum addition; good on you guys for comming up with such a fantastic layout of the Calendar.

If so, then clicking it should solve the problem, if not I have no idea

where you upload the signature, you will get the first signature Toekie made for you. If you want one of the others, just change the URL.

I know it is not optimal, but maybe getting one of those beautiful signatures will help a little until this is sorted out.

I also like the new calendar feature and the Today's events on the sidebar is great! It saves me from having to do some searching for the event FAQ.

I'm still getting used to finding everything with the new layout, but I think it's going to be good.

But. . . I am wondering what the points by my name on the homepage are for. Are they good (I hope) or bad? Where did they come from and what are they used for?

Thank you for your feedback and question, I am happy to see you like the new forum and its features!

As for the points, they are good points, definitely not bad ones - you are give points for the messages you post on the Forum. Collecting more points will change your rank slowly from one title to another. ​

I feel like a freshman in High School or in College.
I would like to see an option to search for all new posts that have been made instead of having to remember where I left off.
Plus I think you shouldn't have to subscribe to follow all the posts you have commented on.
I would prefer that we could have a Steam Room... some of the posts were rather humorous.
Don't understand the reluctance or reasoning to have a Count Down timer.
Generally though I have a positive outlook of these new Forums.

You can have the new content displayed by clicking on the "New posts" button in the top menu bar. All the threads with new posts will be listed.

As for subscribing automatically to follow threads you've commented on, it can also be fixed, by unchecking this option from your preferences (place your cursor over your username in the top right corner, then select preferences, and uncheck the box saying "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...".

I'm sorry you miss the Steam room, but this is something that will not change. The Forum structure is final, and it was a global decision taken a long time ago, common for all the languages.

The countdown timer matter is simple, and it will also not change sadly, I can assure you it was one of the biggest issues and most discussed matters with the new platform: the old forum allowed HTML code, which allowed us to embed the timers in the Official Announcements. The new forum does not allow HTML, so, we cannot embed countdown timers.

I wasn't really sure how I felt about the new forum at first, but I decided to give it a couple of days. I really can't think of any negatives other than the lack of a steam room, as others have said. Maybe someone can start a Complaint of the Day thread in the gabfest like we had in the old forum. What I love is the ability to follow people whose posts I don't want to miss, and being able to 'like' a post, so that I can let the person know I appreciated their post, without actually having to compose a post myself. I also really like the calendar- I'll never miss a sale or mini event. Overall, the new forum has taken a little getting used to (and I'm still learning my way around) but I like it.

Every forum HAS ranking systems for most post and likes!
Come on bigpoint, what's wrong with you guys?

The forum seems smaller somehow. I feel like I am
inside a small box with not much room.

Why remove the post count under our names???
Don't you guys know other forums keep it so
we know the person giving us information or stories are safe to trust/believe?
