That's me!

I have to start by saying... on the old forum I said I was going to try to catch up on IGMs and eMails. Still haven't done it. So if you feel I owe you one and you haven't received one. I apologize. I have been trying to respond to any recent IGMs or eMails. But doing backward was been too complicated. It's not that I don't care. It's just that life is still rather complicated, for me.

What would you like to know about me? I want to know everything... almost... about you.

 

Suzee - I am so thrilled that you post when you are able. I do not IGM - mainly cause I do not IGM much. I do want to know how you are doing. I also know I may not like the answer. I just hope that you are getting stronger and that you find some comfort and pleasure in your day. I celebrate the times that you can post more frequently. I take it as a sign that you are getting stronger, and when you are gone for awhile. I just tell myself that you are just busy with the business of living. I know you are taking care of yourself and that is what matters most. You are a dear friend and I my wish for you is an abundance of joy and happiness.

Arielh, first post you've seen from me. Some people would find that quite funny. I haven't been posting in the new forum much. It's hot here in California and my air conditioner died. So I do most of my computer work in the morning if I can. Then find something cool to do.
Are you a college level student? What is your favorite subject. I can tell you've been practicing your English.

sglick, I'm fine. Not to worry. I recently had another heart scan. The results are good enough for 3 more months of Herceptin. I'm already half way thru with that part of my treatment. It does mean a heart scan every 3 months to make sure the drug doesn't do silent damage to my heart. Otherwise it seems to be an easy drug to tolerate. There has been so much going on the past 6 months that I didn't bother to research the drug. I have a sis and a friend that research everything for me. They let me know of potential problems. Unlike chemo, Herceptin is a "targeted drug" that attacks the protein of certain cancers, like mine. I guess it is pretty successful. Seems my doc is putting most of his "money" on it. It did mention that the cancer it is effective against is an aggressive cancer. I already knew I had an aggressive cancer from the difference in the mammograms taken two years apart. I did ask my doc about "remission", he explained that is a term used for cancers of blood or lymph. For solid cancers, tumors, they use the term "no evidence of disease". That is my current status, "no evidence of disease". Pretty sure that is because they took a knife to it.

I've mostly been busy making up for lost time. I was too sick for things like audiologist or dentist during chemo. Most weeks since then I've had at least one doc appt, some weeks two. That kind of schedule was tiring for me before diagnosis. So I'm more of a spectator lately. Plus there is a mountain of housework and the yard... UGH! I want to do something fun!

It’s been a demanding few months for you and I wish I could just beam myself over there to help you out in the gardens. I deeply admire you for keeping us, your forum buddies, up to date. Ps. Arielh- kalispera (no Greek keyboard,sorry) great to see you around. Suzee is the one, and almost the only reason, I started to follow the English forum almost 4 years ago.

 

That is good news. Yea! I am glad to hear that you are busy with life even if it is just routine doctor visits. It is better than the agony that you were going through at the begging of the year. I am sorry to hear about the A/C dying. I know we have cooled off a few degrees about 5, but it is still too darn hot to be with out A/C. I know it is for you too. Please take things slowly and carefully. I hope you can get it repaired or replaced soon.

Edit: Arieh & Hatzeva - Me Too! Suzee was the first poster that I started noticing. I did and still do look forward to reading whatever she post. I too wish I could do more for her. I would even do yard work, if I was closer.

As I write this, I am reminded that I have yet to start my own intro thread! (Well, unless I started it when I was tired and forgot about it... between that and allergies, I cannot always remember if I did something or just planned to do it

Suzee - I echo the sentiments expressed here. So good to see you posting. I am glad you are having some moments where you actually feel like doing something. I am also so very pleased to hear 'no evidence of disease.' You have had a tough time this last year and it is nice to get some good news. Spotsbox shared that she was supposed to get some snow...maybe we can get her to send you some to help your A/C I know it can be overwhelming when there are things to be done and you don't feel like doing them. Do plan on something fun you enjoy to rejuvenate your spirit. As always, best wishes to you....

I have been wondering/worrying where you were and how you were doing?.....but I didn't want to bug you.....or perhaps(I hoped) you had taken a carribean cruise! Aaaah wouldn't that be fantastic? Maybe we should suggest BP have that as a reward....reach level 100....and win a cruise of all...Farmerama buddies!
I'm so glad to hear your strength and energy is slowly returning. Don't worry...the housework and yard will still be there waiting....(they always do)....and then when you're are done...it's time to start again.
As sglick said, you were the very 1st poster that caught my eye......your sarcastic and witty comments made many a day for me....and several LOLs. This forum would just not be the same without you!
