No controversy, I'm sticking to my #4 being Brooke. Do I get a prize?

    Hi all..:)

I think # 6 is Aunty puppiesnponies. It's because she loves chocolates very much. I think everyone's love chocolates.:inlove:
Chocolates make us happy. I still remember she share about her car accident and dislocated her ankle on the old forum.

@ all .. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families! Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving. :)

Sglick you have out done yourself, this one is going to be hard.
I say #1 is Brooke, I can see her entertaining 35 guests while taking care of a sick child.
And I have to agree #7 has got to be Banjoman, the 8 buzzed kids says it all xD
As far as the rest I'm going to have to think on it for awhile.

Hatzeva - Yes, you can ask question. I just can't say how straightforward the answers will be since TygerLilly is the one who will be answering them. I forgot to mention that Tygerlilly is the official judge and all her Meows are final.

TygerLilly and I are not sure what a 24 hour salad is so we will contact the MF to find out. This MF is not around often so I am not sure how long it will take to get an answer.

I thought TCR was in the UK. Which would mean she probably doesn't celebrate American Holidays... just a thought.

A google search of "24 hour salad" sent me to allrecipes...

Which one does TigerLily think is me?

Hatzeva - I got an answer back from MF 2. This is the respons:

Oh! It is a dessert with cherries and bananas and grapes in a fluff :)
I'll see if I can find a recipe. It sit for 24 hours so the flavors come together. It is delightful!

Suzee - TygerLilly knows who you are. HeHeHe

Oh Wow! I love these competition threads! (Not that I should really be here with papers to write and assignments to finish, but a girl has got to have some fun now and again!) I guess I should at least put in a few guesses and perhaps muddy the waters a bit before focussing on schoolwork! :music::D I am happy to see there is no mention of wild "goat farming" this time, so I should be safe from a blindside on that front...

@illy (and banjo) ~ you know me very well indeed! No sons for me, just a daughter!
@hatezeva and Rags4 ~ Thank you for the compliments! The only problem with being so open about my love for Jesus :inlove: is that it points a big flashing light at you if you even hint at your faith in such contests! Of course, sglick knows that I am American, so I did get an igm! (Yay!) Well, many of you also are quite aware by now about my busy life and "mad" procrastination skills! {{blush}} So the question might better be... am I or am I not a mystery farmer?? And if I am a mystery farmer, did I try to go incognito or was I content at being obvious!
    o_O:eek::music:
@sglick ~ Now please don't let TigerLily tell them if I was organized enough to play as a MF or not! Let's keep them guessing! xD It's just not fair to let them know for certain at this point!

Well, I had better put in some guesses of my own before I get working on my homework! I started out by trying to list as many Americans as I could think of, and then think of the Americans that sglick might know that I don't. (Like Petranela from one of our previous MF games ~ and cross off the list the farmers that I know through chat (or as neighbors) that she might not know. Surprisingly enough my list is a lot shorter than I would like! I am sure there are some farmers out there I am forgetting (!) but I will do my best to not let it bother me!

    So my guesses:
    1. BlazingBlades ~ I know she is also a Christian, and seems to be one who would be horrified at having to fight off other people for a gift for her son (assuming she has one; plus pretty sure she is a gal due to flower avatar). Also seems like she would welcome a crowd as being a people person - exact reason I am guessing that this MF could not be sglick herself, lovely introvert that she is! Okay the best part: my silly reason ~ A little know fact is that Blazie is addicted to Nintendo games! The only reason she ventured out during BF (Black Friday) was because she had just taken an advanced class in self-defense skills! (Truth be told it was the couple trying to steal the Nintendo that really needed help, and if a concerned citizen hadn't have stopped a nearby security guard...!)

    2. Petranela ~ I don't know very much about this farmer aside from a post I stumbled across (different forum) by her when she was really upset about something. (Sorry dear if I am painting you in a light completely different to who you are ~ random guessing here!) My silly reason ~ You will notice that like me, she enjoys the after-Christmas sales! Last Christmas, I bumped into her buying an overstocked turkey deep-fryer at Wal-Mart! Yep! She reassured me that she has learned her lesson very well about ovens... they are not to be trusted (ever)! She carefully coordinates each year who will cook and bring the casserole and pies!

    3. spotsbox ~ She seems like a super sweet gal who would come from loving family! (Of course she refrains from mentioning them here in order to throw us off the scent, plus makes a very vague reference to if the turkey dries out and the pies burn... but she doesn't say that actually happened to her!) {tisk, tisk} But you don't fool me dear! I'm sure you still, to this day, put black olives on your fingers and chase the kids around! (Or at least, whisper to the littler ones the suggestion!) Okay, as for my silly reason ~ You love your husband so much that every year you slave over the stove to make homemade lemon meringue pies just for him! The only problem is that one year you forgot to cook them long enough! Your hubby, without saying a word gave you a kiss and some sweet puppy dog-eyes that melted your heart! So much so, that you braved BF and the crowds to dash in and out of the non-crowded food aisle fight for the last two lemons... therefore you had to edit your your BF post and add "childhood" to it! What a sweet gal!! ♥

    4. AnnTAngel7 ~ Mentions blessings ~ of course angels tend to do so! I believe she might live out in CA or some other place warm?? So therefore, she could possibly live by the ocean and might get to aquire a taste for oyster stuffing and crab mushrooms! Also few people up north by me would attempt to grill-out over Thanksgiving due to the cold weather... As for my silly reason is more a silly explanation ~ Secretly, it wasn't the dog's fault that she got sprayed. You see, she has a secret weakness for kitty-cats and was trying to bring the "pretty kitty" home to feed it some Thanksgiving leftovers so it could be hers forever and ever! The dog, ever eager to make new friends, got everyone a bit too excited!! Like she said, mom wasn't well pleased! On the plus, she did get to experience being a redhead for the first time in her life...!

    5. DBAYES ~ I have to admit that this farmer has me a bit stumped. There is not a lot to go on, however, I do know that brooke likes to shop... and together DBAYES and brooke are the queens of all pens pink! So therefore, since MF9 is Brooke, this must be her "pink sister": DBAYES! As for my silly reason ~ DBAYES has been itching to recover a super-comfortable but rather "well-loved" couch that she has had since she was married. (She has been looking for a way to out-do brooke's bulletin board project with special stripes for a long while!!) But smart lady that she is, she fully knows the crowds of arty-crafty type folk that will fight you tooth and nail for that special (and very reasonably priced) upholstery cloth. So instead, she wisely woke up early this morning, harvested her farm and stalked the fabric store website for the start of the sale so she could order online the perfect material!! It a hot pink pin-stripe on a light pink background, compete with a slight sheen of floral swirls on the material... very tasteful and cheery!

    6. puppiesnponies ~ I completely agree with lovelyfarm! I too remember the discussion of the foot being twisted backward. (Ack!) I also know that she comes from a large family and calls her grandma "Granny". So I am about 99% percent sure it is her... As for my silly reason/explanation ~ The real reason the family will not allow anyone to play in the pond is that one year pnp and her twin sister played a prank on a local boy. The details are a carefully guarded family secret but it had something to do with CAC and a Shetland pony...

    7. I would have to agree that this is most likely Banjoman. I cannot imagine many occupations more full of risk than being in the military! One thing that he will not tell you is that he was the reason for the blackout! It's true! His nieces and nephews got a bit stir crazy so he took them all outside for some football. "Someone" stumbled while throwing a very long pass and hit the neighborhood transformer square on! Lights started flickering on and off within a ten mile radius shortly after!

    8. I think this is crzyjoyce! I can completely see her working and praying frantically to provide a meal for her mom and siblings so they could have something to eat when they came home. Such a beautiful example of God providing just what they needed while knowing fully that you may not know how well all will work out. I am not sure that I can come up with a silly reason for this one... but what cjoy will not tell you is that those walnut shells provided some very interesting low-lights for her hair, and she was the envy of all her sisters for months and months to come!

    9. Brookeham ~ I know she grows olive trees in real life, and some other trees that I can't remember. (Most likely pecan!) The wild turkeys on her land are more like pests, as they try to eat their crops! Brooke's hubby has become quite the hunter in recent years and their neighbors are now very close to them, seeing as they supply the neighborhood with their yearly Thanksgiving bird! Of course, Brooke does have one turkey that is domesticated. This animal has her own very special colored pen...

    10. I hesitate to guess -poppyseed- here, but that's because I believe she lives in England! However, in the off chance that I am confuzzling her with some other player, and she really does live in the US, I will guess her! The main reason is that her MIL lives with her lol! Also hard tack traditionally tends to be something southern (or from Alaska or a port city). (Am I convincing you? I am not fully convincing myself yet lol!) As for a silly reason ~ ummm, I will say that in the Civil War they used to soak their hard tack in coffee, and poppy has coffee also in her MF post so coffee and hardtack together tie it all together! (Just make sure you use fresh hardtack!)

Thanks for hosting the competition sglick! I look forward to receiving that red pen at the next B & T! :inlove: Although maybe I spoke too soon if Suzee is indeed one of the MFs as TigerLily just hinted!!

Sitting here with my note pad and pen, trying to work this out. sglick you certainly didn't make it easy for us ;)
I'm having some trouble naming 10 American farmers :p I
Thank you for the answer about the "24 h salad"! But you also gave a clue:"this farmer isn't around this often" ( I wish she was!)
The farmer also has a new job.

I think Farmer #2 is pepsishot...

Brooke - How can you say this MF game is hard! 3 MFs have been correctly identified without me giving any clues. We have some smart farmers amongst us. Either that, or the just do not forget a single detail that is mentioned.

Now the new guess work is to untangle which 3 MFs were guessed and by with Farmer. TygerLilly knows, but she is not meowing yet. She needs to be in a fish induced coma before she lets go of what she knows.

CJAT - That's for the laughs and confuzzelment! You got even me mixed up with who is who with your wacky reasoning and I have a list of the true identity for each MF.

FYI - I sent out 25 invitations to participate. None of them told me that they were not American so I would say we have at least 25 Americans amongst us.

Hatzeva - You are such a smart girl. I have faith you will unravel the truth. I will start giving hints tomorrow. I am waiting for the Americans to come out of their food/ turkey comas.

Oh sglick! And here I was thinking that I had them all right... and only to get three of them! o_O But dear, I don't think you are really confuzzled over reading my posts... it is the other list that has truly confuzzled you! Best toss that one and stick with mine! {{sets out catnip toys and tuna}} See! Even TigerLily likes my reasoning!
    xD

@brooke~ My final assignments are all due the 17th, but I know I may have printing and such to finish up after to prepare for my certification interview. Not so much exams, but big papers and hands-on assignments. But I am so looking forward to them all being done and over! Best be careful with that chocolate dear! It tends to be quite dangerous when combined as a necessary ingredient in processing large amounts of data! (Speaking from experience I am afraid!)
    :oops::p

As for figuring out the MFs... I don't know that is was sglick making it hard... I'd point my finger at those MF peoples! (All sglick needs to do is post what was sent in, and ask and answer clarifying questions!) As it was, it took me all day to type up what I did! (Even put in a trip to Wal-Mart in the middle as hubby has an upset tummy and needed some soda to help it feel better). But I guess I should skedaddle over to my classes and see how much sense I can make of what I still need to do!

@hatzeva~ I like your reasoning on pepsi... I wonder if sglick saw your post before she replied to brook and I... if not, I wouldn't be surprised to have an update at now having 4 MFs correctly guessed! (Down the road of course, it would be a dead give-away now to do so!) And see! sglick just posted and promised "hints" for tomorrow as I typed this... what more confirmation could you hope for??

Hello Farmers! Just getting to the forum to be able to read all the posts! My goodness, what fun we are going to have trying to figure out who is who!

Here is who I think so far:

#6 - CJAT - she celebrated with grandparents for the holidays. She also writes detailed posts and as a teacher would certainly know what verbose meant! LOL She does have strong faith and loves chocolate (who doesn't?). She moved to a new house as a school field trip to show her students what it was like to be a Pilgrim on the very first Thanksgiving.

#9 - spotsbox - She serves the wild turkey with a Wild Turkey gravy that she made from the booze. Her 'boys' are her dogs Moose who doesn't really howl but moos and Cam. Her first Thanksgiving with her husband was not spent driving around sightseeing but cross country to a different time zone in order to 'turn back time' to get in line for Black Friday sales.

sglick - I know there are more than 10 but I have a problem spotting themxD unless they particularly point out in some way that they are Americans. Everyones English is just too darn good! So please forgive is I guess someone who actually live in Europe or another part of our Globe.

This is probably the time when I've missed our old forum the most - it was such an info bank of facts and nonsense!

Question: do you Americans have regional/state preferences when it comes to trimmings for the Turkey? Canned jams/ candied jams, are they found all over the US?

@hi pnp! {{hugs}} I really like your reasoning for spotsbox! (You have convinced me to switch over!)

As for your guesses about me ~ I was following along and nodding my head until I go to your last sentence... I did what??? A field trip for Pilgrim preschoolers on Thanksgiving by moving to a new house?? (Oh, I see, the translation of that is that I did something silly with my preschoolers to stimulate them thinking for themselves and to promote enjoyment of life!) Yup! Definitely sounds like me!! Only problem is that the only field trip we have taken with the little ones was to the bowling alley... it's kind of frowned upon to bring the little ones home with you - no matter how cute they are!
    ;)
@hatzeva~ I have a list of 28 people who most of which I know are Americans... I will post it below to help you out. :) Some "?" I don't know if they are American or not, but others seem to think they are, so they made the list. The ones in parentheses "()" are those that I rather doubt got invites or that simply are not on the forum that much. The one in square brackets "[]" is a chat guy neighbor and his main farm is in the brackets... but here is my list:

    sglick
    Brookeham
    Banjoman
    Petranela ?
    BlazingBlades ?
    AnnTAngel7
    SuzeeRabbit
    Dienstag ?
    ̶T̶C̶R̶o̶o̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ (from UK per sglick)
    heidels ?
    baw815
    desi20
    solotime
    DBAYES
    pepsishot
    (honeyraven)
    crzyjoyce
    (ImTypo)
    happycallie
    spotsbox
    littlejim331 [jimmiemc]
    steph2014
    (Ladyjazzy)
    (adina_bp)
    jchastain
    -MonkeyEm585-
    tlcmom
    -poppyseed- ?
    farmer_broke ?

There is also the Players Introduction thread where you might be able to figure out a few more that I am unaware of!

As for your food question... I've lived in both Wyoming and Michigan. I haven't seen that much difference in the foods... the mains are turkey, mashed potatoes, canned-candied yams / fresh sweet potatoes, stuffing, and pies! Of course, the larger the gathering, the more food and variety there seems to be... but those are usually the basics. But you are right that there will always be local flavors or cuisine sneaking in depending on the part of America you live in!

And, now there were 4 correctly identified. :D:D:D Who says this is hard. :p;):wuerg:xD

Hatzeva - That is 1/2 the fun! Trying to guess who is an American and who is not. Yes, there are definite region difference even with the same food. There are a tom of different ways to roast a turkey, make gravy, cook green beans, make stuffing or bake a pumpkin pie. Then, because we move around a lot and go visit people in different parts of the country all these traditional regional differences get all tangled up and mushed together. Plus, looking up recipes on the internet helps with this mushing up process. :D

CJAT - Good Luck finishing up. You will be finished just in time for my B-Day on the 18th and the release of the Hobbit on the 17. Some how I think you will be missing it. I am thinking of treating myself to a movie theater that serves restraint style food and serves it to you while watching the movie. The only problem with this luxury is watching the liquid intake since the movie is 3 hours. It is fun to watch the beer drinkers who end up missing big parts of the movie.

Your list is very impressive, but I think TCRooster is from the UK. We have many friends in common.

I just figured out what verbose means and I thinks you were talking about me. xDxDxD
