Santapalooza: SantaCon 2014 Strategy

Have not seen a strategy thread for the Santa Claus event yet so have stated one.

Here are the total requirements:

14,000 Jutes (event crops)
700 Santa Hats (event drop items)
800 Holiday Presents (event drop items)
75 Chickens
75 Rabbits
75 Sheeps
50 Cows
50 Horses
50 Fishes


The event goes for 6 days so the averages for each day are :

14,000/6 = 2,333.333 = 2,334 Jutes per day

700/6 = 116.666 = 117 Santa Hats per day
800/6 = 133.333 = 134 Holiday Presents per day
or
700 + 800 = 1500/6 = 250 event drop items per day

I think the numbers of event crops for 6 hours is okay, but the numbers of event drop items is unbelievable!

Are there any suggestions for this event?

@SillyGuy jutes requirement are 14000

 

Don't worry, the two event drops drop independently You can get both a Santa hat and a holiday present from the same plot

So if you usually get 150 drops per day, you can expect to get 150 Santa hats and 150 holiday presents per day

That is at least how it has worked in the past when we have had two event drops So I see no reason to worry

 

Actually, the only really important thing that this event will leave -that I'm aware of so far- is the cloud row: it cuts by 5% maturation time of workshops.

This means the totals needed for the cloud row only are:
12150 Jutes (event crops) --> /6 --> 2025/day
580 Santa Hats (event drop item1) --> /6 --> approx 97/day
725 Holiday Presents (event drop item2) --> /6 --> approx 121/day
0 Chickens
0 Rabbits
75 Sheeps
50 Cows
50 Horses
50 Fishes

It's doable. Let's see how good the event's drops rates are.

I'll most probably do that at first. Then, I'll see if I complete everything. Most probably, I'll sit this event out in my 2 lower lvl farms.

And recently they brought back the disguise workshop. This makes me wonder if they are planning a FSQ demanding rare products. We now have one for (the new) rare animals and there is a rumor about one for (the new) rare fruits. So why not we have been asking for something to use these animals/fruits/products for

Ι saw that the magic tree only will give one drop..
Shouldn't give both of them?... I hope they are easy to get...

I will try the event because the rewards look good.

 

The cheese factory is already included in what's needed for the cloud row.

It's been some time now that I've been pointing out that they wll possibly introduce breeding of a rare animal in the future. It wouldn't surprise me they'll be either mice or raccoons.

Whenever there are two event's drop items, Magic Tree just yields one of them. I agree they should change that, but that's the way it is.

 

Arielh, the magic tree always just give one drop, even when there are more than one event drop.

 

I wonder how doable this is for people with lower levels, no (or hardly any) buffs, no supergrowth/etc. It is a hell of a lot for people on lower levels to accomplish.... Or is that maybe just my feeling? I know I had a hard time completing the first level of the Chestnut event and this was with crops I could choose myself......

 

That is very Good Point Ariel since we have two Event Drops I wonder which one will the Magic Tree will drop..? As soon as I find out which one it is either Santa Hats or Holiday Presents....Then i will Igm my Neighours to send the other drop item...since i have two magic Trees in my shipwreck....

The Manure Prices will start Climbing today as it is Moonlight Mania Event had started that will run for 24 Hours...

I have placed all my Jumbo Trees out to Maximise The Event Drops items From Tomorrow as I will be doing MM Crops to make more Cerberus for my shipwreck.....I got all trees out on the island to recover and rebuild my stocks of fruits that i have donated to Top 1000 Event.

The cloud row affects workshops, not animal pens. It's good for producing products.

 

Sheriziya, if you have all the mainland fields open, it is doable (at least the crops). There are 588 plots on the mainland. If you harvest 4 times a day, that gives 2352 crops per day using no buffs. Times 6 days is 14112 crops in total. To make it like this, you need to use some super grow in the beginning, and it will be tight.

But if you have a few pumpkin jams or a carrot apple chutney, that will make it quite a bit easier. In step 2, there are 3 harvest helper coupons. So a day you can plan well, switch to 1x1 fields, and harvest with PJ or CAC, and it will make a big difference.

It takes some effort and planning, but it is possible. I used to do it myself

I Just Made a Coffee as i misread the FAQ a Bit Lol

At Least it Helps to Reduce the Production Works Shops by a Cloud Row as it was over due to Balance it with Animal Pen Easter cloud row....This will certainly helps production of Cooking Pots for Quest as I will be rewarded with 10 XXL Tool Boxes should be able to make a few Cookware Forges.

 

@ -Mir85- Thanks for the tips and the reassurance! I've got the mainland, the meadow, the basic plot and first plot in the glade open. I guess missing the three other zones in the Glade will make it harder, but I'll see how far I get And I'll need to plan in combo with the MM that's going now I assume the Santa event starts after MM is over? I can't imagine the two overlapping.......

Perhaps it's a good thing the crops grow 6 hours. I can grow them too while I sleep
