Not necessarily, Illy. I plant my carnations at 4-5p to be ready when I wake up. Sometimes I don't sit down with the farm until 8-9a, sometimes 6a. If it started in the aften here... I would plant carnations at bedtime and wait until event start to harvest. Meanwhile... I would enjoy my morning off. ;) But I'm a more casual player than some. One might lose grow time either way. I've decided I'm not going to stress about that any more. I like the drops. ;) I did stress for the first 6 months or so that I played. Then I realized I was making myself sick. So a little less than 3y ago I dramatically cut back on playing time and forum time at that point.

    Well I just realized...
6h crops is 4:47 w/ water. This old bod can't handle a 15h farming day. So at best I'm going to get 3 harvests a day. I need a new strategy... Might have to start growing manure to pay for manure... :) I can almost handle a 13h day. I have an AFK day where I'll probably only get 2 harvests...

I am chuffed with my Drops as I got 158 Holiday Presents and 130 Santa Hats, these exclude what i got on my first harvest of crops plus gifts from neighbours....As I not longer used Carnations as i got plenty of these in my barn.

Now using Jumbo Trees and Comfort Fields for Drops and for The Island I use Persimmon and Mate Trees....The Main Farm i was growing spooky crops I planted Glowmolds that i harvested to boost Event Drops too

Bhodho sorry to here you having Browser problems,it may seem that one of your browsers had a virus may need to remove and install it some browsers works better than others as i Know my IT stuff....Hope you get back on Track....;)

I too thought we could grow Event Crops so I use it to stock up on Parrots and Elephants could be next breeding Animal !!!

As for me.... I make all my mistakes when farming before my first cup of coffee :p Never helps an event when you're still sleeping xD

If one doesn't like my "by the seat of the pants" casual approach or... If one doesn't have carnations... how about using comfort fields and what ever crop will finish at the pre-announced start time. With comfort fields I would use water AND manure... and maybe SG and/or "refinements". ;) Makes me wish I had some spreadsheets... mid-level players could do tests with one comfort field and their longest growing crop til they found something they like. Illy, for you I would start with the 8-10h crops. I might start doing that. I don't need the drops but... tired of carnations. ;) [Moo posted while I was off tending my farms. lol]

I've been trying for some time now to remember the name of the gal that had all the spreadsheets posted on the old forum. She quit playing around the time I started, 3y ago. She had a spreadsheet for EVERYTHING. :D I thought she was silly til I got interested in drops and trying to optimize my farm. Too bad I lost interest and am too busy with RL. Too bad BPs programmers aren't using them. They would have seen the "instant" rose maturation before they released that cloud/refinement/etc. *sigh*

Blazie, You only need 12150 Jutes for the Event Cloud Row... that is the important goal.
As pointed out by Aluntino, You only need to do Level 1 and 2 Silver, and 3-6 Silver, Gold and Diamond to get it.
Then you can come back and get the other levels if you want... plus it saves chickens and rabbits!

Whoee! That brings a little relief. I just have to tell my perfectionist/completionist self to back off! >:(

We may not complete this quest completely. (We being the royal me, myself, I, and the annoying perfectionist.) :p

Well well, 6 hours from the start and manure already pass 40.

Come now dear chickens, don't be shy. Come out and jump over each other all day long.
You don't lay golden eggs, but your poo ain't far from it.

(later I might feed to you anaconda, but no way in hell I'm gonna tell you that now)

How in the world do people afford CAC? And at what level can you make it yourself?

Bhodho if you have any computer problems you very welcome to IGM me ;)

SuzeeRabbit....Yeah I am tired of growing Carnations, Plus they not sell well in the Markets either, as there is hardly any demand for in the markets.....I do a lot of Refinements as i have unlocked all my needed refinements for Roses, which is more effective with drops when used with Comfort Fields. I now combine these with Jumbo Trees to Boost Event Drops...

I like using Jumbo Trees as I got some Suzy Jumbo Trees and Super Grow Trees and Mulch Jumbo Trees...as I get back all the Suzy Super Grow and Super Grow Back when they are needed to Nuke New Event Crops. Plus I get surplus put in my barn which is handy for me for growing Spooky Crops...

I did have posting how to best get good Event Drops Guide in old forum. As there has been some changes that includes using refinements with Comfort Fields and Jumbo Trees, which was not included in my old posting... As I might do a Spreadsheet if RL permits me ok....:p

I'm bummed that I just recently turned in almost all of my farm animals to level up for the Farming Contest quest... :/ I have enough chickens, but am short for all other animals. Seems like I am always doing something like that!

Yeah, I used to do stuff like that. Then I learned to wait until the FAQ is released before going "crazy" with donations. lol Now I can buy what I need.

Chickens, on one of my farms, are going for 220ea. Plus you can sell manure. Some events manure reaches 200ea. ;)
Of course, if everyone does it...

The drop requirements for this event are low-ish to mid range. If you think you won't finish the event, for instance, won't have horse level... Or don't care to do all challenges...Then become a chicken/poo farmer. If you have the time for hourly resets. Use the coins to buy what you need... at inflated prices. Sometimes it's worth it.

I stashed the ones we got from the bonus code in November and am using those right now.

The 1x1 definitely has boosted my drops, I have 104 hats and 125 presents so far, but the water and manure is very very expensive when using 1x1, we definitely need a lot more of it.

@ SuzeeRabbit, what is meant by hourly resets, I have no clue about that.

Tinni, Chickens take roughly one hour depending on buffs. I don't like to micromanage the farm. I prefer it be more auto-pilot.
Manure is too expensive. I rarely use it.

    Progress report for Day 1:

BB farm: 1,606 Jutes; 97 hats; 112 pressies; have enough chickens, rabbits and cows.
DD farm: 1,440 Jutes; 91 hats; 111 pressies; have enough chickens and sheep.

Not bad for a first day. All crops done on 1x1. First couple of times were done with CAC (or PJ), SG, and SSG. Had all animal pens at the Meadow while I was building the crops up. I also had a surplus of chickens which sold quite nicely at the Market.

This event has been an enjoyable event for me. :D

But what would I do in between time? I do most of my farming first thing in the morning! I couldn't wait six hours! Only time I could do it is when I am working an early shift, then no problem, I would be home just as it starts. This rarely happens though ... :sleepy:

Well, most of us didn't afford it - if we were lucky, a friendly neighbour would send us the odd jar (please post in the SOS thread and request - giving your farm name if it is different from your forum name). I have already sent my gifts for today but will send one tomorrow. You can make CAC at level 4 Confectionrry and you need to buy the recipe in the store. ;)

My Farm Update....Almost 24 hours into this New Santa Event....so far got 337 Holiday Presents and 270 Santa Hats and got 5304 Jutes so Far

Keep up with the Good Work Blazing Blades....and Tinni....;)

SuzeeRabbit I have look at Posting about Event Drops...I wished i saved my posting from old Forum, will make a new posting real soon to include all the latest Strategy How to Get Good Drops Prior to Event Starting...

I do not know why some farmer has put in suggest to get the Game FAQ posted in few days in advance. Big Point usually gives us Game the Morning before the Event Starts sometimes can get it one day in advanced as This Event FAQ came early.

As it seems the drops have been kind to us with this event...so with Illy SOS Thread might not be needed this time, unless those are unable to harvest the farms as often as they like get behind with the drops.

It looks like that Holiday Presents is easier to get than Santa Hats Perhaps i should send my neighbours Santa Hats and not Holiday Presents, which is what i am doing at the Moment....

Those who want to make good CC, now is the time to sell chickens before many of us have moved onto level 2 of this Event
