You have two options well three ... wait for drops of sugar ..... buy sugar in the supply store ..... or get your neighbours to send it

buy lavender jam and eggnog to level up confectionery if I remember correctly.Ask neighbors that are at a level to make them to send as gifts rather than tools or sugar, plant you longest growing crops to get more drops and if you haven't gotten trophies leveled up work on those. that is the best advice I can remember getting while i was struggling with that .

How many trade points do you need to level up?

When you have sugar make PJam or Traditional Chutney. You need the Chutney to make CAC. Have some waiting for you will put you ahead.

Are you aware that you can use products to level up?
Find the items, lavender jam was mentioned, that will get you the most trade points per CC spent. Buy those products. Consume 5 a day.

I will have to agree with Suzee, You can see you slider jump ahead when you take 5 Lavender Jams per day and they are relatively cheap to purchase in the market. Just be a careful market watcher.

Edit: Lavender Jam is worth 125 skill points a piece. Turn in 5 a day and that is 625 points towards the 9000 needed. Or in another words you would need a total of 72 if just becoming level 2, it would take 15 days approximately just using Lavender Jam.

Traditional Chutney is a level 3 recipe. The OP is trying to get to that level but isn't there yet so its not an option.

I agree with crzyjoyce. Use eggnog or lavender jam, whichever is cheaper, to use as your 5 a day. If you can't use those, use pink jelly. While not as fast, it is cheap these days.

Use your products to level up, and wait for drops. Next G&T, try to find someone who is willing to gift/trade you a sugar tree

Using Lavender Jam as 125 skill points, you will need 43 Jams and in 9 days you can be Level 3 confectioner.
8 days if you make yourself some Pink Jelly for breeding or some PJ

When you consume a jam you get points too? I tough you only got them when producing them.

Look at the FAQ for the Artisan's Village. It will tell you how. It's the top right button of the four. Labeled "Improve your skills and level up."

I have one sugar tree.:D However, I am not giving you my sugar tree because I also need it for my confectionery. I can give you my XXL Salt Tree because I don't need it.o_O (I am not a baker.:p)

Note: If you really want to get a sugar tree,
    1. get it during mystery seedlings (I am not sure if it is still included in mystery seedlings)
    2. get it during gift and trade

P.S. I got my Sugar Tree and Salt Tree from The Deal's secret seedlings.

That doesn't mean they'll never be a baker...maybe one day they will be, and will need salt then.
