I think the first step could be done with good planning 150 trees that gives minimum 120ep that can be harvested twice or if done during the harvest mini event will do the job in 1 harvest, if you have jumbos with turbo mulch, it helps a lot, sakura, loquat, strawberries all gives 120ep some xxl trees gives 160ep like lemon. rawan xxl gives 240, and on the island there is many good choices so it can be done with 100 tree or less, if planned wisely, but for the animals that is a different story, it looks very hard considering the space, we need 150 stalls that gives 200 ep minimum, each field can take around 36 stalls which barely matches to 150 stalls, but if you have red and pinks you will be ok because some of them gives around 300 ep, and have to harvest twice, some power feed may come handy here, the point is the mini event (happy harvest) is of no help here, and we get a bad hit by loosing 2 days doing the timed quests, so it will be a killer to finish the rest of the requirements for the other quests, unless off course you are prepared and have the red cabbage, crop circle, mushrooms, and the 8 squirrel monkeys, or rely on the market. I going to give it my best and try to finish it all. So good luck.

Here are some pictures that show how to place the maximum number of stables. If you use the builder, it will only place 40 on bahamarama, and 39 in the magical glade, so you have to rearrange them by hand. A bit annoying

NO. My PF is too precious for that. I'm sure players that spend RM on PF will go for it. Might be cheaper to just buy the Challenge with BB. Definitely a time saver. I've thought about buying the various PF, SG, etc v spending BB to finish an event... If I was going to spend RM on that part of the game... I would just use the BB to finish. If I had that kind of money my time would be more precious.

I looked at rewards for Challenge 3 and not terribly impressed with rewards. So I decided to not stress over it.

Another way of looking at it... using round numbers...
60k EP /150 pens = 400 EP per pen. If you wait until the pen is ready to harvest before starting the timer... you can get three harvests per top level pen. 400 /3= 133EP per pen needed. Using the following pens...
ostrich 80EP 16:00h
chameleon 87.5EP 17:00h (I was getting 2 harvests per day from these using cloud rows and water only)
beaver 90EP 18:00h (Not sure about the time on this one, but it will probably fit 2 harvests in 24h.)
So one does need to be upper level and use pets and buffs to get the FULL 60k EP from those base pens.

I don't have a lot of pets, don't spend the RM on them. I don't have very many pinks or reds, that would help a lot. Jumbos take too long, won't be using them. I do have the buffs. So I may or may not get the full 60k. Still trying to decide how much effort I want to put into it. I was thinking the next breeder would be beaver so I was stocking up on them. But buying another 100 beaver pens... LOL!!! I would need to spend a lot more time at the Market. Not going to happen.

As far as trees v crops for drops...
Trees are not a bad choice. They work for lower levels because they are 20h v 4, 5, 6h crops. Much better for overnight. But...
With refinements, water, manure I can harvest a 1x1 plot of carnations twice in the time I might harvest one base tree. Potentially twice the drops. I rarely buy trees anymore, past couple years anyway. Only 10-12 Secret Saplings per event.

Illy, I'm OK. Just having trouble getting enough oxygen past my swollen sinuses to feed my poor little brain. lol

I believe you meant that the first two harvests of your list should be ready to harvest before the timer starts (but harvesting after timer starts), didn't you?

Regardless, that is a great value base to start. May I just add that with the first two values combined (11520+8610) with EM and SpWr (60%EP) will have an increase of 12078 EP.
Add 6 owls, dragon pet and nightmare pet (100% more) for the first harvest and that value would be 52,338 EP to start.
Any orange, red or pink anyone may have can decrease the need of beavers and/or pandas as Mir pointed out.
As long as it's equal or higher than the values indicated, we'll be ok.

Also (and this may sound strange) 7Ep/hour means chickens (with less growth time buffs and water) harvested every hour!!!

Yes Edited it a bit, so that it is clearer now

Chicken with water gives 7.5 EP in 1 hour and 4 minutes But all the regular stables give approximately 7 EP/hour, so choose the stables that fit your schedule best. Yellow upgrades are a little bit better, orange upgrades are a lot better most orange upgrades give at least 16 EP per hour

Probably, I'll begin to see exactly what I have about orange and above and make some calculation. Who knows, I can finish the minute I start.

EDIT: Finish the calculations. I believe with what I have (and I don't have much) it's doable to finish in the first harvest so I'm glad.

I just remembered: The 7 EP/hour is if you have the stable master rune, which reduces stable time by 10%.

 

As in the past similar case, the English forum FAQ lacks a detail of the partial rewards you'll get if you fail to complete any of both timed steps, 1 and 3. Like I said... those aren't great rewards. The Yellow pens might come in handy for an event like this but...

One can use Valentine Pot and the shorter buffs.

I think most of us will be putting our most valuable pens in the Glade and other pens in the Main and Meadow. This time I won't bother with one CAC for each day w/ PPP ahead of time. I may have to activate the EP boosters, harvest, activate the time reduction buffs, feed the critters, repeat. I'll do that and see what "sticks". Trying to avoid chickens and other shorties. I'll take inventory later...

Here is Few More Pointers for This Event to Who is Intending to Do level 3 of This Event

• Island Animals Gives The Best Ep/Hour compared to Main Land Farm Animals
• Island Yellow Pens Not Worth Using some of them give same EP as Normal Pens
• Some Rare Main Farm Animal Pens such as Dog Kennels, Squirrel Huts,Bear Habitats and Butterfly Pens, gives Better EP/hour to Normal Animals Pens for the Same Growing Time
• Put Out all the Orange/Red or Pink Pens that you May have
• Make Certain that you activate the Stable event timer before harvesting these Stables for EP
• I would use Valentine Pots and Cheese Balls Buffs to Speed Up Reaping Animal EPs this is very Effective with Yellow, Orange, Red or Pink Pens

 

Thank you Mir85, the photos are great, now I see, any way it does not have to be 41 panda stalls, I will use orange panda habitats which gives 652ep and I have 3, and the orange camels which gives 540ep, and I got 4, but the time to harvest is longer, so to harvest 2 times I had to put them all earlier, and I think in my case power feed for these is a must, and a 3rd harvest is no option here even with power feed, I think I will be able to do this quest, but it is a killer we loose 2 days for these timed quests and the time of preparation of the stalls to be ready to harvest after starting the quest, we will be left with a very short time to finish the other requirements.
for the player who consider using jumbo stables, remember that they need 36 hours with water and the yellow ones needs around 28 hours with water so do we afford the time for that.

 

Looking at how to manage level 3. Am I right in thinking that if I use valentine pots (10%), cheese balls (5%) and water (20%), then my animal pens take 35% less time, that is a 36hr pen will take just under 23 and 1/2 hrs? I usually only use water so I'm not sure how they work together.

 

Need some help I have trees on glade and island worth 26122.2ep. Will I get enough ep with using Spring wreath + Easter marmalade + dragon pet + Night-Mare pet and 3 owl pets which comes to 130%. I keep getting different anwsers when trying to work it out.

 

How did you calculate the 26122? Did you check the EP value in the inventory before you put the trees out? Or did you check the EP on the trees after you put them out?

The reason I am asking is that trees get +5% EP in the glade. But the bonuses are calculated from the basic EP.

Example: XXL Egg tree 198 EP with bonuses 198*2.35 = 465.3 EP
But if you check the EP after you placed it in the glade, you will see 207.9 EP,
if you now calculate the bonus you get 207.9*2.30 = 478.2 EP which is wrong.

Upshot: If 26122 EP is the basic EP, then you will have enough because 26122*2.3 = 60 080 EP (plus some extra for the trees in the glade). But, if 26122EP includes the magical glade bonus, it will probably not be enough.

 

Thanks Mir. I used the ep from after placing them. I think I worked it out now 60,080 is what I got when using the calculator but was getting a different answer in spreadsheet because of number decimal places eg I entered 1.3 but it wanted 1.30

The Builder places pens/plots starting at the top and left. I find better placement by putting them starting at the bottom right and right. Just like what Mir's pics show.

 

thanks for all these good advice & infomartion.
my strategy is: don't miss the happy harvest day held today.
So,I will plant long hr crop to get good drops for event starting.
then grow 1 or 2 day event crops before switch to tree farming.
Using CAC, I could get a great advance on event crops. For the other
stuff. Only Squirel monkey I got 5, missing 3 may be bouhgt on market.

 

Now, if I could only believe that I'll pay attention to all of the sticky notes decorating my computer screen and do everything in the right order! (Get event plant started. Start timer, but not until all trees are ready for harvest. Use EM and SW.) Yikes! I don't know how many times I've forgotten to use a CAC until after my first field was already harvested...here's hoping this event doesn't go into the 'dumb mistake of the day' thread!
