8)desi20 - An Arab/PasoFino?!!:inlove: What a ride...liquid gold!! That was a cross breed I always wanted to try - Arab being my favorite in all the world!:inlove: Another cross I'd like to see is Arab/Morgan; or even Arab/Friesian - ( though there is quite a difference in size there). But for smooth riding, you had the best! I'm so sorry to hear about your back.:(:( It must have been awfully hard to give up riding - sounds like so much fun!!
Do you have a picture you could post of your beautiful horse?? :)

My username "Solo Time" was just a random nickname I came up with one day and ended up using it for games and websites I joined.
I came up with the name because the game I was playing, I wanted to be fighting alone. I farm alone on this game so I guess my name is good :)

@farmlily3 Yes my horse was a very smooth ride :inlove: Her mom was Arab and dad was the Paso Fino. I will try to post a picture of her if I can, lol not good at doing them kind of things but I will see if hubby can help me when he has a chance. It was very hard to give up riding. I have had other horses but they were more family then anything as I loved to have them around even if I could not ride anymore. Now no more as I could not clean the stalls anymore  Have the wonderful memories now.

I was a network engineer before developing a disease that forced me to retire early. Communicating on the internet is kind of tough for some, fast and furious for others, and almost eloquent for more. Watching how data moves through the equipment while working on networking equipment it sometimes looked like a strange dance that only makes sense to another router or switch; it reminded me of bees and ants telling each other about food, danger, and so forth just like our communications on the internet. So BeeDance popped in my head. I wanted something that was kind of "farm-y" but somewhat original.

Please can you tell me a little bit about horses... I know absolutely nothing about them other than the fact that they have four legs and long hair xD I've never, ever ridden a horse either!
Sorry to hear you cannot ride anymore :(

    Haha very random :p

    Again, nice and random :p

@BeeDance that sounds very cool and interesting !

This thread has me wishing I had taken more time to think about my username...we have had a long winter, shut in here in N.C and when I was able to get outside I really worked on my yard (always welcomed neighbors comments /good an the bad) One easily grown plant was day lilies,( also one of my moms favorites )so it was first to my mind when time to choose. Thanks mama:inlove:

I like your name farmerlily! I'm also in NC and used to love when DOT planted calla lilies and wild flowers in the freeway medians. Financial cutbacks have stopped that around here but I hope they will begin it again at some point. We had day lilies and a few calla lilies in our yard growing more or less wild for a long time and they were always beautiful.

So many players have interesting names here. I like reading why they picked the one they did. The name means something special to each player even if it sounds "ordinary".

8)Hi, BeeDance! Love Bees - love your name!! Sounds like we may be (formerly) from the same neck of the woods....I used to live in Charlotte, NC a number of years ago in high school. It's a great location! Myrtle Beach to the East; Asheville and the Smokey mountains to the West! Loved to go to them both!!:D

Farmerlily22, are you also from near Charlotte? (Not too specific, though!)

I like your name. Sounds cool and something called for a special move/motion. Will you teach me dancing bee style?

btw, Happy Birthday to you!:D:D I can not find your thread in Players Introduction..

I live near Raleigh. Between the beach & the mountains, though I really wish it were in the mountains. My Dad is from just north of Charlotte.

SillyGuy - Thanks! The "special move" is from trying to dodge the "look" my wife gives. ;) It's part of my exercise routine - jumping to conclusions and pushing my luck. :)

Thanks too for the birthday wishes. My kids now claim I'm so old I ate hieroglyphic soup when I was little.
Thread on Player's Intro? Is it too late now?

What a good choice of name oldmcdonald and you've done it again and lit up the forum with yet another wonderful thread. Getting to know each other is great. We are from all around the world, with different opinions and perspectives and its entertaining and enjoyable to know a little bit more about each other. Thank you for starting this.... ;)

I started this game on the advice of a friend who found it to be an entertaining game which would peak my interest. My love of animals and nature is great and it's a perfect game for me. My name is that of my puppy Molly, who is very near and dear to our hearts. We picked her out of her litter when she was only two weeks old. She stood out from the rest, even in those early stages. Now she is the apple of my husband's eye and a treasure in my heart. The number 22 is only because 2 is my favorite number and has no special meaning. My love of animals is great and I do hope one day to have a farm, but we do have three coops on our property and I have fallen in love with chickens. They are of course spoiled rotten, but they grace us with beautiful eggs of every color each and every day. They all have names and are treated with love and affection, which they return in large quantities each and every time we go outside to see them. We also have two Guinea Fowl which are entertaining as well, but well past the stages of laying more eggs. I'm afraid Pearl has passed her day to gift us with eggs. They do provide great services for us and rid our yard of ticks each and every year. They are free ranging when we are at home... and get along well with our pups (Molly and Bear). I am also a natural redhead and have come to love my hair color, but felt much the same way as Spotbox when I was young. Always trying to scrub my freckles away..... and even going so far as to try to cut my hair off so perhaps it would be a different color. Children are wonderful aren't they, what goes through their minds and imaginations is a wondrous thing... and I hope I never lose the imagination I was born with. Thank you all for sharing your stories.... I hope to read many more and get to know a little bit more about our friends here.:music:

A wonderful analogy.... ;) thank you

our neighbor called me carrot top too as a child.... and it used to infuriate me lol!

BeeDance, farmlily, and farmerlily- all from North Carolina! That makes four of us then, I grew up in Charlotte. I'm between Myrtle Beach and Charleston now. I love the NC mountains too, but I haven't been in ages. Maybe it's time for a road trip:p

8)Road Trip!! Poppy, soon it will be Spring in the Mountains with all the spring flowers blooming...what a lovely time for a road trip!!
While I only spent a few years in Charlotte, (also 2 yrs. in Raleigh, and 1 yr. in Lake Lure/Chimney Rock:inlove:), what I liked most were the road trips (my favorite 'sport'! lol) to the mountains and beach!:inlove: It's hard to beat a location like that!
I hope you do take a road trip to the mountains - and that it is the Best and most Beautiful of all!!:D:D

I had flaming red hair as a child as well - and of course the freckles to go with it. Now what hair is left is gray. "Carrot Top", "Red" & "Rusty" used to get me all the time (and they wonder why redheads have tempers!) ;)

Road trip to the mountains? I'm ready! Always inspiring. We made a week-old camping trip into looking for as many waterfalls as possible one year. I for get how many we found - over 3 dozen! It rained every day (not all day long) so the falls were especially spectacular; some only occurred that time of year because of the rain. I used to enjoy whitewater rafting as well but can't participate anymore because of health problems. I still like to watch my kids whitewater when I get the chance. Mostly I like the camping, campfires, sun rises and sunsets in the mountains.

8)What wonderful times you have had, BeeDance!:D Even if you can't participate actively anymore, you are still participating by being there for your kids, and watching them do the things that gave you so much pleasure! And knowing it was you that made it possible for them to learn and enjoy these things has just got to be 'soul-satisfying'. The "camping, campfires, sun rises and sunsets in the mountains" are very 'soul-satisfying' all by themselves!
    You are a fortunate man.

@oldmcdonald Well where do I begin with horses. You have your gentle ones and your mean ones. I was lucky that mine was a gentle one. Could ride her without a bridle and saddle which was awsome. The one thing bad that happened is I was pulling my kids on a sled behind her and dummy me went too close to where there was no snow. Yup she got spooked and took off on me. Hollered at my kids to roll off of sled and thank god they were okay. Me on the other hand, well she reared up and down I went with my foot wrapped in the stirrup. As she is dragging me all over the place my husband is chasing us trying to get her to stop. I hollered for him to stop, I can do it. I just kept talking to her telling her easy and everything would be okay. Got her to finally stop when we got to her pasture. That was very scary and only ended up with a bruised ankle. And then you have the means one where I got kicked by a horse at work (worked at a horse stable) and he broke 3 of my ribs. I was in pain for awhile and quit my job after that. Not worth it and cleaning 30 stalls a day was not helping my back. LOL miss the 12.00 dollars an hour, now I am just a home maker. desaray17
