When I first started playing Farmerama, there were only the Main Field and the Green Meadow. I watched this little game grow and prosper but, somewhere along the line, the Farmer concept has been forgotten...It has been replaced with Jack-in-the-beanstalk Cloud Rows and the now taking over Bahama Islands. It's just my personal opinion but, if you're going to call a game 'Farmerama', shouldn't it have more to do with farming?

I believe the Park came next, then the Magical Glade. I was okay with these new additions, and even the Artisan Village, but the Cloud Rows...couldn't they have been an Orchard for our trees instead? And couldn't we have been given Fields for Crops and Pastures for Animals instead of Islands? What do Islands have to do with a Farm, with Camels, Pandas, Monkeys and the such?

I'm sure many players Love the Island concept, but I miss the concept of having a Farm, places to grow Trees, Crops and raise Animals. So many of the animals now have nothing to do with a Farm...although cute. Honestly, BP, Kiwis and Platypus? I'm growing weary of all of the additions and the never ending Events. After around 5 years of playing, I'm finally considering quitting.
Just one, long term players opinion.

Yes I agree. No more animals, more land to grow crops. But if you gave a bonus for like if what crops feed an animal and you have the stable next to that field it gave a bonus to the field and crops? Ex: a chicken farm and wheat growing around grows chickens faster, or chickens growing around a wheat farm make the field faster. Add Bonuses

Not sure that the poll matches your question. I am definitely NOT in favor of a name change, and further think it would create far more problems than you envision for the company.

That said, I think everyone (mid to higher players anyway) would like more space. The issue is how to do it. Any addition will wind up skewing the game further. It needs to be well thought out. Maybe there could be a field just specifically for wonder stables, for example, or something like that. Or, more space available at a higher level, put in between one of the other steps... not sure what level, maybe at level 70 or so? Maybe 80, maybe earlier? I am just guessing....

Hm. I disagree with the somewhat narrow view of where farming should take place. It's not like there are no farms in tropical climate or on islands irl... o_O There are many things I wish would be done differently, but getting rid of/no focus on Baharama isn't one of them. There was quite a stretch of time when it seemed like Baha never got enough attention and leveling it up was murder, and personally I don't exactly miss that.

saltypixel, I also remember how long it took to level, but the Golden Bananas sure don't make things much easier. To me, it takes just as long to collect GB's to do anything than it took to level up to get anything. Anyway, I would have preferred more farming options added from the beginning than them switching to a Tropical Island. Like I said, that's just my opinion, and I'm curious to see how many other players feel the same way.

I have to agree with you, but what I've done is put the 'wild' animals in my Magical Glade. Since it's in the 'woods', I placed the racoons, bears, deer, and so on there. My 'farm' animals are in my Main Field, and, of course, the monkeys, parrots, sloth and so on are on the Baha Island. It's not that I mind the 'odd' animals, but that there's not enough room for the farm animals and crops, and we really do need an Orchard for all of the trees! It started out a Farm...now it's 'whatever' goes!

Sorry I'm very new... I just started a couple months ago but.... you don't need to play in baha. you don't need to do cloud rows, you don't need to do the never ending events. I'm sorry New Zealand and Austrailan wildlife is a problem for you but you don't need to do the events that give you those items. You can have exactly what you want... 3 fields full to the brim of crops, trees and animals that don't bother you.

Its like complaining cause there are too many crops.
If you don't like all the crops only plant the crops you like. Only do the quests you like. Only grow the animals you like...
I didn't do the valentine quest cause I needed power food and stars and it gave neither... I didn't miss it and it didn't miss me lol

I LOVE the wolves, kiwi's, storks and platypus. I put them right next to my farmhouse so I can enjoy their beauty and antics. The graphics for the bats, crow and glowworms are fabulous and I love them. I would like the next creature to be a Fairy Wren, a songbird from Australia that is jaw droppingly beautiful. People don't farm them... but they live continent wide and people living in Sydney can see them in their backyards.
I don't know how to double post a reply but to the person who said in the usa we kill bears and wolves... sorry no. we set aside millions of acres so they can live in the wild, and relocate them back into the wild when they move onto farmland because they deserve to live just as much as we do:)

Anyway, they added more features to make the game more interesting to more people. They added more creatures because not everyone that plays this game comes from Europe and in other parts of the world they have other animals they are familiar with. If that's a problem for you just don't do those animals/crops/areas.... :)

And good luck finding a fun to play farming game that is less annoying.
Hope you find a way to play that you can enjoy:)

Well, biologically/farming-wise you are just wrong, but the real point is that this is a fun game and bears only marginal similarities to reality.

Write ...Per the base question, thanks for the clarification. You did not "offend" me, its just that I know what is involved in changing an official name when there is real reason, never mind just because would prefer something else.

As to the field change... I cam into this game when Baha was already an integral part, so I don't really have a comparison, but I really see no problem with having tropical crops. I do sort of smile at seeing "zucchini" as a tropical crop, but I guess did originate down south. In fact, a lot of the now most common crops originated in near tropical or tropical areas, then migrated. (squashes in particular)

For variety, it might be fun to have a mountainous region.. maybe one where animals grow better than crops, but that would have to come after the tropical island bit. I think the real problem is not Baha, its that we, right now, have so many animals and crops that it is starting to take work to get them all done.

dai5--- It is true that people can choose, but as you go up in the game, and accumulate more stuff, it becomes more and more difficult to manage it all. I don't agree that Baha is the problem, but a lot of players are starting to think we do have a problem.

Thank you, woody...we do have a problem...there just is not enough room for everything we have!

d5aisy, I do play the way you suggested...I don't use the Cloud Rows, I don't use the Artisan Village, I enjoy the Islands, but I would have loved the play areas used for more farming things; the stables and production pens, the beautiful trees and more room to grow crops. I don't get involved in the events because I Hate growing event crops! My time is spent harvesting, planting feed crops and making feed for my animals. I play exactly the way in which I am most comfortable.

It seems maybe my question shouldn't have been, is Bahama taking over the Farm. I personally would have preferred more farm land than islands. The Coral Reef won the vote for more space, so most players prefer the islands to the farm...I'm just not one of them. I was just curious how many more players would have preferred farm land to islands. I will probably never use the Coral Reef either, but then, that's my choice!:D

I love the main farm and Baha but since I started playing nearly 4 years ago we have not had any new land to grow all the new stuff. I don't know exactly how many new crops, trees, pens etc have been introduced but I feel there should have been extra land on a pro-rata basis to put the new stuff. We all got excited about Shipwreck Bay but can only put ornaments on there, ditto the clouds. I also want a farm that has proper farm animals not all the pretty extra animals that live in the wild. Perhaps the two distinct parts should be kept that way. The lasted Baha event give Stars?!? Should that not be Golden Bananas? I too have cut back on events. Just plodding along trying to level up best I can. Am I getting jaded? Perhaps. Will I keep playing? Most probably. Will I spend real money? Just enough to buy the harvester when it is half price.

Would be crazy awesome if you had to unlock every 2x2 square and each one was a field 202 1x1's. Then you can plant every crop in the game. You would have 157 separate farms. You click on a square and go there. Please add 1x Golden banana to farmwheel jackpot win on the top. thank you.

 Well, it seems my Poll was removed...I guess, since players voted for the Coral Reef, I'm not allowed to know how many would rather have had more farm land than island land...I doubt if we'll ever get more farm land now...Such a shame...Farmerama started out so small, and has grown so much, but it seems to now cater more to the demanding, big money spending players who have to have hard challenges to be happy rather than the Newbies, or us seniors (I'm 67 btw) who just wanted a relaxing, farming game to escape the stress and fast pace of the real world. Congratulations, BP! You have succeeded in accomplishing exactly that! >:(

    Hi !

I too have been playing for nearly 5 years. The great disadvantage which is growing day by day in this game is lack of space for growing crops.

Animal pens, workshops, jumbo pens etc take up all the space. With the introduction of large number of new animals and trees frequently, you do not have space to grow crops at all. I grow crops only at the end of every event. And the next day I put animal pens etc. Once again doing animal husbandry alone No farming at all. This the case in both farmerama and baharama.

I think it is high time Farmerama considers this issue and rectifies the same.

And since event is a routine affair one have to keep on deleting and placing things in the farms which is somewhat irritating and makes one tired. As one has to keep count of the things to be placed once again and in what number is a great strain. And we play the game for relaxation.

But overall the game is good. If you want keep going play the game continuously in a slow rate. Skip the event which you think doesn't suit you. If you don't have any special item, wait. You will get it one day. Trying to acquire everything over night will only lead to frustration. Slowly accumulate your farmhouse. That's what I learnt in Farmerama.

Happy Farming to all my Farmerama friends ! :)

Well said, 12ss12! I'm actually going to try for the little Donkey decor offered in the new event. I'm just going to do the first part of the first #5 quests. If I don't make it, at least I'll get compensated for the crops grown. I will stop harvesting and feeding animals so I won't need to grow feed crops. I myself am not one who can rip up everything to grow crops. O.C.D. won't let me!

We all have our own way of playing, whether relaxingly, or furiously! I prefer relaxed! The problem still being...there is Not enough land for Farming, either on Bahama, or the Main Farm! That's why I started this thread...to see how many players would have preferred farm land to island land. Bottom line...we need more land for both places!

I've suggested an Orchard for trees and a separate place for just event crops to no avail. BP Usually listens to it's players, like the Poll for what they wanted to see next. Too bad the Coral Reef won the vote...I know many of us voted for another area. I know I did! ;)

Oh, I don't disagree. I just see this as a general land issue, not a Baha specifically issue.

I am not sure that its a matter of choosing between baha and the mainland. Baha is just something different. That said, I think we do need more regular farm space.. but I am starting a new thread for that, rather than hijacking yours.
