I've just calculated how many I need to average daily on my farm (and my partner's) to reach my (and his) personal goals in this event.
For mine I need:- 1000 moonflowers, 1215 morning glory, 100 glow cones
his :- 1000 moonflowers, 500 morning glory, 72 glow cones

I'm not unduly worried about mine as I'm using 3 (nearly full) fields and I will have harvester helpers to make it all so much easier! :)
On his, I only have 2 fields to go at and no blooming harvester helpers to make it all so much harder! :sleepy: (Men...>:(......;))

So I guess my strategy if you can call it that is just basically work like a trojan on both farms (until I decide to tell him where to shove his non existent harvester grrrr :p)

Good luck everyone...see you on the other side..if I haven't stomped off in a paddy by then! xD

    OK, inital planting finsihed.
with 307 morning glory on stock & plant full fields moonflower for overnight crop.
I can go to have a 7 hour sleep.
glow cones now got 129, 1st day target will not be a problem.

I have everything I need but crops 'n drops here, first harvest of carnations on mainland and animals/trees on Baha, plus initial harvests of SGed event crops, puts me at 128 cones. bearbabe's not far behind with 125, and I am only missing 1 pack burro, so will breed it if I decide to do all levels there (probably will, still need a bio glue base). I've managed to open enough toolboxes to build 2 bio glue labs here on spots, but have not gotten a single one from drops, and I had high level pens and workshops out from the time I finished the chameleon breeding until yesterday -.-. Will probably be AFK tomorrow, trying to decide if it's better to grow the moon crops and only get one harvest, or put in some roses for drops, or maybe winter jasmin? Any thought on which would be the better strategy, anyone?

fifi - what about comfort fields?
    44 2x2 plots x 2 fields = 88 x 3 (you get triple harvest) = 1320 plants
    Plant moonflowers overnight
You could either get the morning glories out of the way during the day or you could devote one field to morning glories during the day and moonflowers overnight with the other field devoted all day and night to moonflowers. Water and/or manure should make it possible. You may need to super grow the moonflowers to fit your schedule.

500 plants per day/15 seeds per plot = 33.3 plots (use 34 with the other 10 moonflowers)

Normally 1x1 are recommended for event drops but you are not needing a large amount to meet your goals and you do have the other 2 fields to compensate.

    Good luck!

spots - since you are using 1x1 and CAC, you won't have any trouble growing event crops. I would plant long crops while you are away. It is easy to miss growing time with CAC but drops are harder to recover from. Just my 2 cc.

I'm still growing my initial seeds to cover all 3 fields....but I cannot bring myself to delete my "new" snorkel shop!:music:
A gripe I have....I only received 90 drops with my "Big" morning harvest! >:(:wuerg::cry:This included high level animals, trees and crops!!! I also had activated the 2 cloud rows that boost drops!!! Trophies maxed(except animal one...left 1% unfinished).
Eeek:eek:....I'm going to need all my neighbors help to finish the drops this event!:p

    Good luck All!;)

@puppiesnponies thank you so much!! I hadn't got as far as that yet. Have just been concentrating on getting the initial seeds level up on both farms to be able to plant full fields and get the show on the road! I am a little concerned with the drops esp on my farm as initially when they were full of stables/workshops those first drops seemed good but now I have stripped the 3 fields of very nearly everything to put in 1x1's and although I am still waiting to harvest a full field of the event crops the drops have dimished greatly (I will report back once I know definate drop rate).
Do you think I should use 2x2's instead then or was you referring to my partner's farm where I only have 2 fields to work with and no harv helpers?
    And again, thank you :)

I've just had a quick reckoning and I get it to 1056 if using comforts...??

    44(plots)x2(fields)=88x3(harvest return on comforts)=264x5(usual return w/o cac etc)=1320-264(seeds used)=1056('profit')
Obviously with CAC it would be 1584....I think anyway..oh heck maths isn't my strong point!! Regardless anyway pnp I'm very grateful for your input!!! Ignore my blathering!:p

If I'm able to get online during the first 12h of an event and my drops are over half of the daily required AVERAGE and I expect to be online most of the event... then I don't worry about drops. In other words... anyone that already has more than 75 drops... is probably in good shape to finish the event before the last day. I have 95 from morning harvest. (Initial harvest was 1.5 fields of pens, .5 fields of trees, rest was leeks [working on refinement for it] and ginger. Not optimal choice for optimal drops, but they make me happy. ;) It's a drop rate good enough to finish the event, which is I all care about. ) I'm not worried about drops. Just crops... since I have some AFK time that will interfere with growing crops without the event crops lingering in the field.

If I'm AFK for around 12h... I would grow something in the 15h range, like onions, 12h w/ water.
If I'm going to be AFK for 8h... I would grow something in the 10h range, like roses, blueberries or cauliflower.
If I'm going to be AFK for 6h... I would grow the event crops. In other words... I grow what fits my schedule and what I want to stock up on.
All of the above assumes one is not using refinements or manure or other buffs. One of my farms has the flower CR and refinements that reduces carnation time to less than 12h w/ water.
So one's overnight crop or AFK crop is highly dependent on the buffs available and lifestyle.

Think of drop rate as an hourly AVERAGE return NOT a crop return. Daily averages are more reliable than crop averages.

I finished the first stage, all 3 tiers. (had the cats and fruit already) I have the breeding animals required for later lower stages, but I am still debating whether I want to finish them or just stay with the top tier.

I was referring to your partner's farm that has only 2 fields and no machinery. Comfort fields may provide a way for you to work on the event without having to manually harvest 1x1's every few hours. His personal goal you shared may be possible since you will have other fields to help with the drop rate. Just a suggestion....

For you, since you are using CAC, 1x1s, and machinery with 3 fields devoted to the event, you can grow longer crops overnight that will improve your drop rate.

You will find (as we all will) that drops during event crop growing are typically terrible so to balance that, grow long crops overnight (schedule permitting) and after you have grown the event crops (using PJ or CAC) and you return to normal farming, you will see your drops increase.

If you are truly worried about drops, let you friends/neighbors know your personal goals and how close (or far) you are and ask that any gift they send be the event drop vs your normal gift (i.e. toolbox, sugar...). Remember if you need additional help, post in illy's SOS thread.

    Good luck!

I just want to add if you do not have panda breeding unlocked, dont even think about completing this event, unless you wish to pay with BB's to complete the event. Additionally for all those who do have panda breeding unlocked, only those who share unlocked panda breeding will be able to purchase your panda breeding efforts.. So be mindful of your intentions. Level 2 to complete this event, I dont think so...........

1056 without CAC is correct :D unfortunately the CAC effect is not triple on comfort fields, so with CAC it is 1056 + 88*2 = 1232 :)

BillyJoeBimmBob, those without panda breeding can still do all the other steps of the event :) they can get both items, the cloud row and all the wonder seedlings :) And no one said that one could complete the event starting at level 2. The FAQ states very clearly that you can participate in the event from level 2. I think it is a great help for new players to be able to grow event plants, the other plants they can grow are so short. In addition the event crops give more EP, so they will level up faster :)

Somebody :music: forgot to plant long term crops to take advantage of the drops and somebody :music: harvested her increase drop rates cloud row before the event started so somebody is hoping to build on her paltry 72 drops PDQ!

aw TC sorry to hear that, your drops were better than mine, initially i only had 54 drops now up to 125 I think so you will do fine.

Thanks crzyjoyce - I'm usually okay for drops it was just a real head slap moment! Got to 90 and now it's time for bed with a few fields of carnations!

Thank you Mir for condensing the requirements for us, I was just thinking about doing that for myself when I saw your link. You are thoughtful as always and it is appreciated. My goal is to finish all the silver steps and to do anything else that I possibly can without stressing out too much about breeding and whatnot. I find if I set reasonable goals that are achievable, I am much happier about the outcome. Anything I achieve over and above the silver is going to be a Bonus. Good luck everyone and have Fun!

When I first saw the requirements, I thought I would let this one go by but as I kept looking at the prizes I thought maybe it might be a chance to get some of those trees and critters I am still lacking (yeah, right!). I am now going to follow your train of thought for both farms, FarmerMolly. :p

As I have been away for a couple of days, I haven't really had chance to catch up on everyone's strategy but have whiled away my time as a car passenger strategising by myself!

I think Illy will be okay - has some of the breeding animals and can buy some others. :)

This farm needs all but one Pack Burro and has not got much in the way of CCs. So I am going to wait till nearer the middle to end of the event to see if prices begin to fall. I haven't yet opened Panda breeding so I can't buy those but I have enough GBs to do so if I wish and if I can't afford the actual breeding animals, I could always do some outside of Baby Boomer breeding! :wuerg:

Or I may try to get some CCs from selling other things like the Baha animals but I see the price of those is not enough to make any sort of a fortune.

So far Illy has 197 Glow Cones and this farm has 174 so not at all worried there. o_O

All in all, I will enjoy this event and if I finish on either farm, I will be happy! :inlove:
