Comic #8 - Strategy

Well, I should stick to my event boycott since there are no stars but then I can't remember we've ever gotten stars from the comics events or have we? I will be doing this one most likely, for the silly reason that mouse pens are my second favourite pens (after orange chicken) and I don't have a yellow upgrade on this farm. I don't think I'll be able to complete everything though (no cuckoos here for one thing), but we'll see. Might go for it on other farm though, depending on if I have an easy quest left I could get machinery hours from, as I'm not doing 1x1 by hand over there!

My mother have never done any event at all so far (besides Renzo's), and she really wants the mouse pens. She's only level 30 and w/o pets and relevant cloud rows. Only fields she has are main farm and meadow, and the first little plot unlocked in the glade. No Baha. With artisan products, is there even a possibility she could do the first step? If not, I should probably just tell her to concentrate on selling poop even if she'll be disappointed.

 

She needs only 2600 EP to cross step 1, it will not get her mouse pens, but she can proceed further.
To make the 65000 EP she will need the artisan products. I think they can be gifted to people below level 40, they cannot produce or buy it themselves.
I remember my mentor sending me some CAC, and spring wreaths when I was new during an event.

 

Yeah, but it's the mouse pens she wants so it's only first step she's interested in. Hence the dilemma. As for the artisan products, I know she can't buy them, she'd be getting them from me as gifts. I was mostly thinking I'd rather not waste them if she can't reach 65000 no matter what.

 

Thank you Mir and Mooboy and everyone else for their suggestions, this is going to be challenging as last event i came up short on my drops. All these helpful hints will make it easier. As I work full time I struggle between getting enough event crops and also getting the most out of my sleep time by planting long term crops, it will help this time as the highest event crop is 8 hours. I'm just happy to participate and join in the fun. Your suggestions help those of us just starting out as there really is so much to consider. I've had my fair share of blunder and oopsie moments but if I listen closely I hope to have fewer of those.

 

@ salty, I do believe she could get at least the mouse pen, using buffs without cloud rows or pets, but thing is not to let farm be idle, gotta be johnny on the spot with harvests not sure if she could get the yellow upgrade too or not, my brain is getting fuzzy. don't forget the pinkie pie pie to extend buffs.
also any buffs you can't send her she could possibly get using sos thread.

I think it is possible to get the 65000 EP, but it would really take a lot (don't think I would do it):

• Overnight harvest cube watermelons + 5 harvests of cube pumpkins + overnight harvest of cube watermelons
• Buffs: ZAB (1+PPP), 5 CB, 2 EM, 460 suzy's super grow

But if she would be happy with one mouse stall, it is much easier

• Overnight harvest of cube watermelons + 4 harvests of cube pumpkins
• Buffs: ZAB + 4 CB

Yes, I think 420 plots is correct, that's what I got it to as well.

Hm, she says she wants the yellow upgrade, but I think she should probably settle for just the basic pen as she isn't the best at following a strict schedule (don't tell her I said that! ). We'll see if I can persuade her. I have a yellow upgrade on my other farm that maybe I could gift her in june.

As for the CB, she already have some since before I believe (also PPP), so that's not a problem. Just need to send her some ZAB and possibly EM if she is set on the upgrade.

 

If she has some super grow, that is also an option Good luck to both of you!

 

I can only use PJ and CB. Do I need to eat them before planting or before harvest. I assume, I only use them once I have sufficient quantity of seed to plant full crop, 350 of each or so. I plan on using SG and manure on the early plantings.

I always forget which should be used when to get the effect and to not waste the time on the buff. Any advice will be appreciated.

 

Well, folks, I planted long crops thinking I would harvest a little after 8 a.m. (it's now 8:17 a.m.) and my event hasn't started. Then it dawned on me "daylight savings" which happened a couple of weeks ago So now I guess events will start at 9 a.m. until clocks change somewhere else in the worldBut the mini event was to start at 1400 CET and its already been running a couple of hours on my clock so I am a little confused

 

Same here Julie. It's 7:50 here in Texas and no event yet. Maybe it'll launch in the next hour.

Im going to ask a silly question...is it 65 000 EP from the Event Crops or any crops....? I've got Spinach on 3 Fields and would hate to start the Timer only to find out it must be Event Crops..

Oh yeah, @CaliChrome , it hit at 8 on the dot here. I started with 35 drops. I forgot it started this morning, and only had violets planted along with my trees and animals that I had just set back out after the last event. BUT it was crazy, on my little slice in Baja, with trees, two monkey pens and the rest of the area planted with cinnamon there was a WAY better drop rate!!! Let's do this y'all!!

Belinda, the 65000 EP in step 1 comes from Event crops.

 

Yes, @belindamotion , it has to come from the square pumpkins and watermelons. That's why they were suggesting a build up of the crops before starting the timer. I read somewhere that is was suggested to have 700 of each before starting.

this!

First harvest after event start, 4 field (nearly full of 1X1)
with dragon pet ; howie Donut ; cloud row for increase event drop rate on island .
I totally got 123 Mug, Look better than previous event. Since for step 1 preparation, I
remove much stall & workshop to make place for event crop growing......
that mean more 1X1 plot than before, So, I don't know if drop rate for this event is
good or not.

 

Actually, that's a good result and start.
