After 8h of trying I just finished planting my second round of event crops. Keep in mind these crops have water, manure and SG. My morning harvest drops were good, 125+. Since then only 9 because of the login/logout problems. That's probably my worst 8h drop rate in the past 3 years. *sigh* 9 drops in 8h! If I had planted red roses w/ water I would have gotten maybe... 40-50.

LDCrow, I have made a couple of edits to my last post.

    Hello,

I am wondering, As said this is a good time for lower players, see: me. To sell chickens, thank-you for the words of wisdom, But I am wondering as I am not ready to play time events do we get level stars for growing the Majorms as they said in the explaining of event, that we get CC or EP at the end for left over crops. It seems like the only win for beginners here if we get level up stars.
    Thank-you for reading.

hi suzeerabbit, i am getting my feet wet trying my first event. found your event post earlier today to be very helpful.

so far today i have collected 88 garnets with trophies at 22%, wasnt planning to participate so i sold off pigs and goats for much needed cc'c. just going to fool around with this and see what its like. i do not use artisan items at the moment, too expensive for me. i think this will be a good lesson to see what i can do and what will need to be done in future events.

Keltic, no, there aren't any stars offered for completing any steps in this event. Good luck feelfree!! Don't let it stress ya! Just do what you can and get that experience, you'll be hooked!!

labmommy30, I got that you can't win any cool.
I was asking as you are just on your farm nowhere near the event, you grow those flowers, as the game gave me 10 seeds and you are going to level up in the game itself not event as not entered it, will I still get my level up star even though I am growing event flowers?

I read and I may be reading wrong, any crops left over at the end will be taken back by game and you get Ep or cc back.
I was wondering does growing event flowers effect my level up star?
Seems like this will be my only win as my surplus and plots are not strong enough to play just yet.
My goal is the midnight game, that will be my first got time to get ready, this one I like the idea of ep or cc for growing and not entering, just don't want to hurt my level up star hard eniugh to get stars to feed that tree.

Oh! Yes, as you level up, no matter what you are growing you get your star!! They do "buy back" the leftovers, and if that EP is enough to level you up again, you still get your star! :)

You will get one star when you level up regardless of what you grow. The event crops may give you more EP than any crop you have at your current level (I don't know what your current level is) and if this is the case, growing them will help you level up faster. You will also get the EP and CCs for any event crop you don't turn in to the event a few days after the event ends.

Thank you and that thread you directed me to is brilliant so thanks for that as well. In the long run I'm to low level in my trophies for it to matter much in the drops. I actually got fewer drops using 1x1 plots than the mixture I normally use. I am however using CAC and the increase on that off sets the extra water I have to use on the same field in 1x1 vs 2x2.

    Thanks again!

just a note to those of you who think you are too low level to be able to do much - when I started my baby farm a little while ago, growing event crops gave me EP to level four or five times, and 100000 CC for turning in the event crops that I had left over at the end! So if it fits your schedule, plant some in there along with whatever you're growing for FSQ and feed and whatever else, and reap the benefits even if you can't get very far in the event itself!

I just found that Tilia tree should be normal tree, not mystery tree
which means you could buy them in shop on later time.
Why? I find Vin Weasel (the 1st customer on Farmhouse order) ask it!
Vin Weasel only ask normal farm animal, crop & tree fruits.
I just post a question to clarify of this. If Tilia tree is really a normal tree.
Those not care about Cloud row but really want the Tilia tree. Don't need to
push too hard. It could be buy on shop on later time.

Drops rate look not bad. Just check, I got 219 red garnet, with 29% trophy & 1 howie donut & 1 dragon pet.
Consider my event starting time (around 1 hr later)which I only got 101 drops at initial harvest.
11 hr of planting & harvet inlcuded : 3 field hop deluxe overnight , other stuff, uptill now I got
    117 drops. That's really good!

Edit: Oh, I saw Mir85's post thread on general Issue, So, I'm now sure that
Tilia tree is a normal tree. If one could not get the cloud row at last. Don't
need to feel sorry for missing the tilia tree. you could buy them in future!

There is some heavy debate over this. No one is entirely sure. However, you get more crop by using pumpkin jam or CAC. Pumpkin gives you 1 extra and CAC gives you 2 extra per plot, so more plots means more crop. That is why the advantage.

Also, you DO seem to get higher drop rates from longer crops and animals/trees. Again, this is a tad disputed. Basically, if you can harvest as soon as the crop matures, you may get roughly equal drops, just over multiple harvests. When you have to be away-- to work, sleep or whatever, then you want to plant a crop that will grow as long as you will be away to maximize drops. (for example, if you sleep 8 hours, then an 8 hour crop would be ideal, if work takes you away for 11 hours, then 11 is "ideal"). Of course, you have to balance drop demands with event crop demands. In this case, most people will probably concentrate on hops at night and majorum during the day, when they can be around. (roughly)

I think you are confusing 2 separate issues? EP levels you up, allows you to have more crops and/or animals that offer more and more EP each, in turn. Stars get you runes on the tree of wisdom. They are entirely different, but often you earn both together. EP is earned from growing most anything, completing quests and events, plus filling Farm orders. Stars are from most permanent quests, some events (maybe none any longer) and occasionally from fuzzy the sheep (the free gifts), plus leveling up some levels.

Excess event crops will be cashed in for EP and CC at the end. Usually, the EP and CC returns are not as much as you would get from growing your highest price crop/animal (EP) and selling them in the market (CC), but they may be.

As for completing the event, you get the EP you earn from growing the crop, plus whatever returns you can earn from "cashing in" on the various levels. Stars would be in addition to that. Generally, its beneficial to complete as many levels as you can, even if its only one or two, but you will have to decide if that is true for you. Its a very individual choice. keep in mind that the rare pens (of any kind) tend to give more EP and sell for higher prices than regular animals. The givers are a constant supply of EP/BEP, or whatever they give and, once you open your park or shiwreck (baha) they don't need to take up crop space.

"Ahh nevermind just close I am not ready for events.
    Thanks.

I hope you changed your mind:) just do the part you can do without spending any money. Don't worry about any of the buffs people talk about like CAC [carrot apple chuntey] or Pumpkin Jam. Just try one silver star level and if you can get it then just try for the next. If you can afford it I would suggest watering your crops though that will help a lot:)

I would suggest not buying the animals if you don't already have them because unless you have plenty of money or the reward level of the quest will pay you back the money you spent.. just because the rewards for this quest aren't very good.

I would suggest to not worry about trying to get a certain item or level.

They do at least one of these events EVERY month and many people like to try very very hard to get all the stuff... but they are high level so don't worry about all the stuff:) Just enjoy yourself and have a good time:)

If not ready for events or new to the game then don't grow a single event crop.

Buy all the chicken pens that you have land for (128 is the max) and produce nothing but chickens and sell the poop for the next 6 or so days. Sell the chickens and poop as fast as you can and don't think twice.

One can pay for all 128 chicken pens in one single round of selling the chickens and the poop and have profit left over.

Produce and sell 25 times or so in 6 days (from 128 pens) 8)and you'll have a million ccs. The sooner and more often harvested, the better. ;)

What has happened to our beloved FB an identity change or business head on.

You could have told me FB as I am reeling from the shock of FB making cc's.

Seriously very good advice for new farmers wanting to make cash and getting used to events

I have done all Silver levels up to 5, with a side step to pick up a Wolf Pen on the next harvest in about 30 minutes, then finish the Silvers. Will work down again, picking up the most tempting prizes en route. :inlove:

Drops are not fantastic but, as usual, my initial harvest wasn't geared towards drops - this farm has 29% LL, Illy has full LL. This farm has had 143 Red Garnets (including lots of gifts!) and Illy has 128 Red Garnets (again with lots of gifts) so just in the average daily requirement - and still several hours before the 24 hour stage. :p

I hope to finish the crops Friday or Saturday at the latest. As I am working today, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I will cover my fields in trees and animals and see what happens. :music:

LOL! Would have been better aiming for the tree first! Forgot I needed the Hops Deluxe to get Wolfie! Now can't get either till tomorrow! Oh well, knew it couldn't be that easy! xD

Ah! But that was on this farm, Illy, always being the second one I farm, will get that tree and plant it! Today! In five minutes. Wahoo! Wolfie will wait but I will catch him tomorrow morning! :D
