Rodeo babies event stratigies

I had some good results that I posted earlier so I guess I am due for a bad run. I have been working on trying to get a piggy bank for months -- will have to breed it because it is not in the market (plus I doubt I could afford it). I have been breeding regular pigs and brown pigs but had built up a stock of wooly pigs and as a Level 2 animal decided to breed an entire field of them and hope for the best. Nope...Everyone of them went BACKWARDS to give brown pigs or regular pigs. Only a few actually gave the next level - level 3 (pot-bellied). I decided to breed them because to sell four of them would bring less CC than buying the next level. But now...whew going backwards really hurts the CCs as well as any goal for a quest.

 

Sorry, I am a bit confused was it only the extra baby boom animal that gave brown/regular pigs? or are you saying that you didn't get pot bellied pigs at all from many of the breedings?

 

The majority of the breeding results from that one full field of wooly pigs gave only brown and regular pigs. The number was consistent with Baby boom twins rune but they were not a level higher. Only a few gave a pot belly pig with a brown or regular.

 

I didn't think that should be possible I would ask...

Have you ever seen that before? I think I have always gotten a higher level animal.

 

I just did the quest. Didn't want to waste my power feeds.

 

I have actually seen it before but it was rare. This was the first time it affected the majority of the field.

 

I'm like Sheriziya - - My first attempt at baby boom day breeding yielded a seahorse and a fire horse plus the foal. I couldn't believe it! After that it was a bit anticlimactic, but I was able to finish the quest last night.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I should keep breeding horses, cows and other animals during the rest of the BBD event...

 

I had planned to work on the event over the week end. I had to work on Friday so i got a late start on breeding, but as I mentioned, I wasn't planning on coming close to finishing on Friday. Surprisingly, I finished last night and I was happy with my skips, I got the following: Knight Horse, Pegahorn, Mustang, Sea Horse, Alpine Cow and 2 Nanny Bee's...... (I snuck in one bee breeding). Not sure if I will play around with breeding anything else over the week end. I tend to use pheromones and they are expensive if my supply gets low. I am a bit of a hoarder and afraid of getting too low on them. I enjoyed this event, it was relaxing and easy to finish. Thank you Big Point for the return of the much needed Stars. I am going to aim for the top rune on the Wisdom Tree, I hear that really helps on drops, among other benefits. Thank you to friends and neighbors for help and support. After I got my morning harvest in, I went to the FS and looked at what I needed on the horse and cattle breeding quests. Woo hoo! Got further along on those - more stars. I'm with FarmerMolly22 - I still want to get that top rune opened up so I can quit lugging those trophies around from spot to spot. Half the time I forget to plunk 'em down in the first place.

It seems many people are quite lucky with the skips!

and on a side note.... I got enough stars with the event and some extra quests to get the breeding 50% rune just now! I love that Only Level 5Diamond and Level 6 (all three) to fullfill and then I'm done. I'm breeding those along with rabbits, chickens, sheep, bats and pigs to open up the Magical stalk and perhaps get some extra breeding quests done as well.

Hi!

This is probably me being an idiot but, which rune is this? The only ones I can find are the "Quick Breeder" and the "Baby Boom" (not counting the Breeder Pack rune).

Sorry, I was wrong on that. I just checked it because of your question. I meant the last rune on the breeding branch. I got the message confused with the description from the Pink Jelly. I didn't even realize I already had the Quick Breeder open already (5 hours instead of 6). I think that's where I went wrong

Anyway, more bundles of Joy is something I've got now too That does explain why I got 6 normal cows with one brown cow. Didn't understand that one at first.
