IMHO most of the offers are greedy, there are very few worthwhile trades out there - at least in my list there aren't. Everyone seems to want pink stables and the latest rare rare trees

I've seen many people offering fences and hedges for the latest rare trees.
I was hoping to get a few orange pens, but what people want is ridiculous.

 

Perhaps people are indeed putting them up as a joke (kind of "expensive" if the have to pay to do it and they do it for many offers). And I thought after posting that experienced players might be preying on inexperienced; that I think is doubtful since many are apple trees (which EVERYONE seems to get too many of!)
Yes there are LOTS of absolutely ridiculous offers and some are funny. Perhaps many are intentional jokes. However if only ONE is a legitimate offer by a child or an inexperienced player and they read this thread how would that make them feel? I'm all for fun and I'm the first in line for a joke even when I'm the subject. Maybe it's the father & grandpa in me but I hate seeing someone hurt from something they don't understand.

All that said, any who might feel offended I hope will learn, and all who understand the game better I hope all will continue to be mentors and friends as many have been with me as I continue to learn.

What would be EXTREMELY funny for trade would never be up long enough for anyone to see: A Pink anything for an Apple tree. If anyone comes across one like that I would love a screen shot (I know it will never happen - the keyboard would get burned up typing so fast to get it!!)

Thanks hatzeva for the admonishment - I have to remember it IS just a game and to be less serious about such things. Even when inexperienced we learn from mistakes and I know any who might not know this time will the next, and they too can add their funniest trades.
Perhaps next time I will have a Pink something and I can see how many hours it would take to get an Apple tree!

 

There is a offer of pink sheep pen for 30 sugar trees. Is it possible for a person to have 30 sugar trees with 30 license to trade. Why would any one do the trade? It is easier to acquire the relevant breeding animals and build the pen themselves than to acquire 30 sugar trees + 30 license and do the trade. I saw an offer asking for 10 or so stomping grapes (I am not sure about the correct name) How is it possible ? I am not angry or mean to criticize. Just sharing the logic and also the fun.

 

Yes, it is possible for someone to have 30 sugar trees and buy or earn (if they have been in the game a long time) the trade licenses.

The person offering the pink sheep pen has spent either a lot of time and PF or a lot of CCs (or managed a remarkable trade) to get that pen. However, the person who might have the trees and licenses, probably already has a pink sheep pen and is unlikely to give up a type of tree no longer available for a pen that can be made (with lots of effort and/or CCs).

I have put up some trades for the beginner farmer that have been accepted, just to clear my inventory.

3 Yellow chicken coops for one Apple tree
2 Goat dairies for a Walnut tree
1 Red Goat dairy for a Plum tree

So maybe the joke is on me?
I spent 6 trade licenses just to get 3 trees I don't really need and could easily afford to buy if I did. The farmers that got them I believe really needed them. Maybe next G&T they will unload them the same way.

BeeDance, I appreciate your feelings, if these offers were put for a joke, then they served the purpose, and we are laughing at the joke, no harm done, if it was put by a child or unexperienced person, there is no insult here, no names mentioned, and if they look at this thread they might learn something, but what I want to tell you from experience, there is some people who like to take advantage of others, and there is scams, it happened with me before and with many others, also I recall DBAYES mentioned in one post that there was a scam in a previous G&T event so she refuses to do deals with any one she don't know, here we are lucky to have this big number of good people, so give them some credit here.

If I know that, I would not ask you for the black thorn tree, I asked for one and I got three, 2 were gifts from a very nice players, I had to return one of them to the sender because I know she had only 1, and I could not accept that, so if you feel you are not happy still, I can return that back to you.

 

I tried to be careful choosing what I wanted to trade for my red bat roosts. I did give one to a neighbor as a gift. But five others I traded for things that I needed, but weren't necessarily high end items. Fox stall, lemon tree, dovecote, crow roost and rowan tree. All five of those offers were snapped up in minutes, so I'm pretty sure they were "fair" if not lopsided in favor of the other side in the trade department.

Oh yeah - and I still have two red bat roosts for myself - which is still one too many as I only have one regular bat roost. Hoping to get bat roosts unlocked during the next MM

 

That's really nice of you. Helping beginners. But there is also a little draw back in them. Many persons like me grab the offer for further trade But there is a saying in our language, while you are water the paddy field, the grass along the water channel too gets benefit by it. Keep up your good work. I applaud your good thoughts and deeds.

As an after thought, your offer is for beginners and I can see that. But 30 sugar trees ( + 30 license) is certainly not for beginners. As I was a beginner once I can safely say that. And a seasoned player might not wish to give away 30 sugar trees and license for a pink pen. He might think that for 30 licence he may do 30 other transaction and might convert BBs to CCs and buy relevant animal and build a pen. So the person wishing to acquire the trees might not get them and his purpose may be defeated. Instead if he splits the offer into several offers. He can easily acquire the trees within hours. That's what I feel.

The person making the offer has every right to state his terms. Its is his right. I just wanted to stress on the logic that it might not bear fruits.


And no hard feeling please. This is just a discussion and analysis.

NO -- I just found the worst... someone is wanting rooster pens for fencing!

Hate to tell you, but lemon trees are not "high end" items. (in my humble opinion). The rest are more iffy, but if you are happy.. that is what matters!

 

Probably not high end at all, but I had none. Now I do, so I am happy with that deal. Besides, I can always spin the wheel and get more red bat roosts. They seem to come up with some frequency. When this G&T started I had eight of them.

 

I have considered that perhaps some of these are a trade made between a higher player and a newer one. If so that's an interesting idea; I have simply gifted to several others, but it would be a way to use the trade license without having to use BBs for more gifting licenses.

In RL I deal with a special needs brother as well as several families with children who also have mental and/or emotional problems. I apologize for bringing that defensiveness here since this is just a game, though it is not not something I can or care to try to turn off. These are hilarious "offers"; some days I wonder if I don't make even worse blunders in this game.

igotfrogs please don't tell my wife you have bats - she would probably like to use them to make me black and blue.

5 egg farms for an apple tree
2 yellow egg farms for an xl apple
2 cow dairy yellow for... xl apple
3 goat dairies for walnut
did get xxl apple for my red goat dairy though.
I am so happy that I made somebody else happy and got rid of all the rubbish in my inventory. I even managed to gift some away.
I keep trawling the offers on the blackthorn trees (I have 5 which I am very lucky to have as they are a nice little cc earner), but nothing has caught my eye.

 

Nice work TCR, now That is a trade to be proud of. Please don't leave That apple tree to gather dust....

Oh I do blunders on and off my farm every single day, quite a few to be honest. Today I got so excited about a Starscope being up for trade, I've been wanting one for ages, that I swiftly traded it for a Blackthorn plum.

Only after did I realize there were pages of Starscopes up for trade + I remembered I had 2 already (one was a prize and the other was a gift last B&T). Excitement got the better of me

I have seen so many offers that are totally insane and funny.
... an apple tree for a sakura or for a blackthorn, or a stone pine, or a xmas tree
these offers I have also see them with almost every normal tree...

 

That is still a possibility, but considering the amount of such offers, I would think otherwise, after witnessing 6 or 7 G&T events over the period of 3 years, they are always there, I assure you I saw them always. water tanks and apple trees for rare or very expensive things. there is no need to apologies for being defensive, here on the forum many new players stated they do not have any thing to trade for and they need many things, I respect what they did and I try to help them as much as I can, what they did I believe is much better than putting such offers like those.

 

All gifts should probably be considered worse than the Apple for [fill in the blank] since we don't even get another Apple tree! I'm sure there are some who think I'm dumb giving away rare animals, trees etc. but I feel it helps other players move forward and (hopefully) makes Farmerama a gooder place for us all live and play (or is it a weller place?). I'm glad there are a lot of players also doing the "dumb" thing in gifting ....

So bring on those Apple tree offers! We can beat any silly or funny offer!
