Strategy: Agent Punkoo

Still going here. Got a bee from regulars, which is lovely but I'm running out of cuckoos and not a punkoo in sight.

I'll be away this weekend, so I am trying to get all the breeding done while I am on the train. It is proving a bit difficult since there isn't internet all the time, but right now it is good Also there is plenty of time, the train is three and a half hours late, and we won't be there until 2am the reason is a landslide over the tracks, so we had to take a detour by bus and boat, quite an expedition. The boat ride was very nice though

I am having a lot better luck on this train than I did with the farm express, have gotten amazing skips

All from regulars (or very low level):

• Bee cuckoo
• 2x Builder cuckoo
• Tiki monkey
• Swashbuckaroo
• Karate panda

I am completely overwhelmed

I have finished the six first levels of the quest, but haven't gotten a single punkoo, so will try to buy them tomorrow Don't think I'll be around much this weekend, so I just want to wish you all good luck

with only 300 pf i was going to skip this event, who we kidding?

yesterday opened up rune for 20 wooly-snout. i have plenty cuckoo in barn. will try to use mostly regular cuckoos since wooly selling at decent price.
only using 5 pens, first two batches got 1 rabbit-eared, 2 moustachioid and 1 punkoo skip. i find the more pheromones i use the better the skips.

 

I am curious for those who posted the excellent skips, do you agree that extra pheromones increased your chances for skips? I have been very frugal, using only one pheromone per stable, and my best skip was one punkoo from basic cuckoos, out of 50 attempts.

When the quest was first announced with no stars I just said forget it and didn't pay any more attention to it... now with stars... well I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Aetheria14, I don't think using pheromones makes any difference to the skips. The only pheromones I used today was the one freebie I get from premium membership same as I always do. I think it was just my turn to be lucky I've never had results this good before.

As of the end of today, my skips from basic cuckoos are 1 masked, 3 bees, 7 punkoos.

 

Nope, just pure dumb luck.
I got a Masked Cuckoo right off from regular, 7 Punkoo from a mix of reg. to Mustachioed Cuckoo. I did not get a builder or a Swashbuckaroo, so it to me is just luck.
And yes, this was the best I ever did, both in items, and in time finishing.

It was the 1st time I had the runes, now if you want to know if I think the runes help I say yes, yeah, and it got it done! IMO

 

I also do not think the pheromones have an effect on the skips. I forget to apply a 2nd pink jelly this afternoon and only remembered after I filled half my breeding pens. I used 4 pheromones each on those pens and did not get any huge skips. The others that I only used 2 pheromones on I got a bee and a punkoo both from regular. I think it is just sheer luck on the skips and nothing else.

I finished the event pretty easily and have moved on to other breeding projects. I have to remember next time not to get to wound up about looking at the numbers without the BBD factored in. This was much easier than I thought it would be due to getting skips and all the twins and I only used about 200 of the regular cuckoos in my barn. I did start with the 20 free wooly-snouts though.

 

If pheromones help with skips then there is something seriously wrong with my game.

I've had dismal luck with the cuckoos on skips. I'm still working on that event as I have had exactly one skip, a mustachioed from regulars. I've had to fully breed all my punkoos and I still need 4 more mustachioed and 12 cowkoos to finish.

I did have luck with my other breeding goals but even then I've only gotten a couple of skips and nothing overwhelming. Just not my day for it I guess.

 

Thank you T_rixy, I had read the pheromones just affect speed, but if they also could upgrade the results I would be happy to start using more! I am ever hopeful to find a way to improve my results on the breeding lottery.

 

I have finished the event and I am officially tired of clicking on cuckoos!

 

but with only a few skips and the best skip was rabbit-eared to punkoo, although it was baby boom...

 

So far done 2 rounds of breeding. one with 4 pheremones, one with 1. Both rounds gave nothing better than a 2 level skip.
Feeling sad. I would love to see some high level cucks.

I have all the different cuckoo requirements to finish the event as I had some from previous cuckoo breeding. My best skip was a Builder Cuckoo from (I think) a regular one.
Also got an Alpine Cow from a normal one.

 

my first 10 pens i got 4 ships, next 20 pens only 2 skips, disappointing. going to use a lot more pf than i had hoped too.

something thats confusing is the price of different breeds and some animals. last bbd prices were spiking on a lot of breeds and animals but not this time? is something different between this one and the last?
