    Hello,

Ok, as I see it there be a lot more to setting up for an event than clearing the Fields. An event needs a lot of behind the farm work.

We get a real nice list of what dates and what is coming,
    June 12th - June 15th: Moonlight Mania
June 19th - June 25th: Breeding Based Event Quest
from June 29th: Summer layer Event

What I am noting is how to set up for the month in general.

One welcomes the new month, logs on the game, and ta daa we got quest!
And then the mental lists go down, my basic needs all up and replaced? feed, basic animals, product....the list goes on.

Then as you settle down to go check the market, forums you mentally go over the list of must haves refinements, artisan items, things for the artisan products, things for the need of the artisan products...

Now once you got all this you have to plan ahead for the month, to take all needs all wants all things that you need to have just as quest basics.

:eek:It's hard enough to keep the formulas right to price it costs you to do yourself to buy it and forget it.

Then the art of timing the crops so everything works, your start time the eat before or after products, the set up so you use all wisely.

Then if not enough you have a new area of what is sell-able to need for the quests and not selling something you will need and get a sweet pay off.

I told myself I would not make a word doc. for the game, I will not get into it so bad I need lists.......xD I kept those stead fast. :music:xD:music:Onto a folder on desktop of a few documents just a few for the game.

I have to wounder, as to the seasoned players how do you handle setting up for the month?

Right now I am at the point I have stopped running in place with my hands in the air acting like I can't find time to care, to ok fill all I can, and pray to the farm gwads......

Does a good monthly plan set up exists?

I am not a seasoned player, but i find it hard to set up for a whole month when you don't actually know for certain what is required for specific events. Sometimes, when you rely on rumors... it backfires on you. So, I try to pick and choose what rumors I find to be trustworthy, and even then you can't be 100 percent sure until the actual faqs are announced. One thing I always do though is make sure I have plenty of items to use for specific upcoming events.... ie;terror bouquets for moonlight madness, pink jelly for breeding...etc.

Ahh, so the artisan products are heavy to the top of the monthly basics, Working your way up in levels to make your own? or do you play the market?
I have been checking prices and time, there really be some things in that area that it can be cheaper to buy than make, myself I do without as I am just not that high up on the feed chain to buy, I know it hurts me in finishing, as it has been shown to me it really is as day and night, them artisan products boost you a lot.

I am still working on getting stalls, it's like walking on sand every step drops you back 3. I am getting there but it is s-l-o-w.

My jam just hit level 3 and even though we get 1 free every 48 hours, it just is not enough lol, being newish I do not have the CR or the recipe for PPP so no extending.
I still need time before I get to making CAC so I am still cutting my plots of land, animal/short crop/long crop, I want to be set enough to do my plots all either animal or crop to best use the artisan products.

Then that gets into crops, I buy a lot of the tree fruit I use now, just no time to grow that just erks me lol.

Wow, setting up for the month. Let's see... In my case I use CAC and ZAB every day (except when I'm only doing pens and trees), so I make sure I have a months supply on hand. MM comes every month and that calls for 2X terror bouquets a day (plus PPP). We have some kind of breeding event each month so in between milling feeds I also mill PF.
Other than that I just keep minimums of crops, animals and products... my motto be as prepared as I can be.
Now, my minimums may be higher than many people but if you can keep at least 2,000 of each crop, 50 of each product and 200 of each animal you can be ready for those events that ask for things from your barn. I try to keep at least 10X that but I am just a little OTT (over the top).

The First Event is a Spooky Crop Event. Sadly we cannot Buy or Sell Spooky Crops. Normally MM Event Last 24 Hours Again this is going to Last another 3 Days. We are going to need 6 x Terror Bouquet. The Spooky Reduce time Cloud Row only last for 24 Hours. Terror Bouquet can Help Those Make good CC but need Decent Barn stock Bone Trees, Googly Eyes, Abominable Plants to Craft These. Which you would have to restock these spooky crops during MM Anyway since to cannot buy spooky crops from the Markets.

It Helps to use the Grape Vine to find out upcoming requirements or rumours of what we will be needing for up coming events. As The FAQ of Events is what tells us what we been needing. Sometimes get FAQ a day or two Early or just Few Hours before Event Begins. My Barn is always well stocked of most things to prepare for any Event.

As Regarding to Breeding Events. All Base Animals do raise in Price, so does Level 1 and Level 2 Breeding Animal Most of them anyway. The Price of Phermones do go up a bit. Pink Jelly are cheap to Buy anyway. There is Cloud Row that reduce Breeding time so saves you needing to use Phermones to Reduce Breeding time.

There are Many Crafts that are cheaper to Buy than it is to craft them. With Exception of Terror Bouquet cannot be crafted without certain spooky crops mentioned above.

I also mill as much Power Feed as i can too. Buying Cheap Breeding Animals from the Markets does save you Power Feeds !!!. As to The Summer layer Event often indicates some New is Required to Do, so will be asking stuff that will effect the Markets. This can be risky and unreliable or base on a pure hunch which i do sometimes lol Happy Farming xD

I was trying to keep it simple. lol BTW I'm also Cahethal....
Remember baby steps or at least toddler steps. Checking the Grapevine is a good idea. According to the Grapevine this next breeding event calls for turkeys and goats (hint, hint, stock up)

Yes it does. But it will be wise to do a little calculation first and decide which level of the breeding animal is most beneficial. Here is an example of the hens. It shows how many of the animals required at each breeding level to get 1 golden hen. Take in mind that skips and bonus from BBD is not included!

    Golden hen: 1
    Rainbow: 4
    Breezy: 16
    Mini: 64
    Gumbo: 256
    Crazy chicken: 1.024
    Silky: 4.096
    Roaster: 16.384
    Base animal: 65.536

If you were to buy your way through and only bought Roasters cause they are cheaper than the others then your golden hen would end up costing a lot of millions more than if you just bought it right of the market.

If a Roaster cost 2.000 then your Golden hen will cost you 32.768.000 CC and 8192 pf:wuerg:

If you only bought Minis at around 180.000 then your golden hen will cost 11.520.000 cc and 32 pf

Must say that breeding is very expensive either you buy it for cc only, breed your way up or a mix of both. And maybe my calculation is to no use at all cause there will be skips and bonus (ie 2 animals) at BBD though they can't be taken in account.

As Mooboy says level 1-2 breeding animal usually raise in price. Therefore my strategy is to breed from base animal, hope for a skip and sell level 1-2 except for the numbers I withhold for an unknown possible upcoming event. And then I buy the higher levels breeding animals.
So look at the prices at your market, find out what they are being sold for and hunt them down when a bargain shows up:)

I'm not preparing specifically for a month but keep a minimum of everything so I pretend to be prepared for everything:p

But it takes time to get your barn full...to have a minimum of everything including the breeding animals:oops:

I have no way to plan for a full month ... just the plan for one event is enough for me to tackle at any one time hehehehe ....
the only thing i will say is never ever be frightened to sell and buy things on the market ,,,,, its the best way to get that CC balance on the rise ,,,, while we all love the events very little CC profit if any in them once you take into account buffs used and such .... I make my own pumpkin jam ... and many of my other buffs as i can as yet not high enough to make CAC ... it all comes to those that wait so they say .... but again Sell Sell Sell on the market lol ,.... and by the way i have been known to fill notebooks ,,,, have word documents on my tablet so i can pull them up and have a quick glance .....

Usually I plan for 2 events, and when I am done I plan for the next 2, there is always a gap of 2 or three days between events and sometimes only one day but that's less frequent, I use this time and the time balance when I finish an event early, I use this time to restock my animals, tree fruits, artisan products and to set a plan for what cloud rows I need since there is some rows need 4 days like chestnut king and some need 2 days like the rows that increase drop rate of event drops, they must be ready to use at the start of the event while harvesting the long time crops that I plant the night before to give a good start with drop items.

Now I am keeping my main field ready with 1x1 plots for MMM, trying to finish Garden Expo Quest, while I put back my goose stalls to build up some stock in case there is Goose breeding in the next breeding event, in the same time doing Tour de farm I, on the glade and the meadows, while trying to finish the last two steps of the lemon grass quest on the Island, MMM takes only the main field so the rest can be used for what ever you need to work on and the breading quest should not take much space unless there is some event plant and drops.

Now, this is a great base, I find I am no longer in the shinny new shoe slot, but not near the worn in and comfy fav. shoe slot either.
So I would say I still pinch in spots just need time to get there, close though.
I don't see it as OTT I see it as I got more in barn, <as the barn is the center of this universe> as life has a bad habit of getting in the way of fun.
I read were one farmer keeps the first page of seeds for sale at 10,000 each in barn, I have goals to reach!!!

Now, I do things in a hit or miss way, -.- sometimes this can be expensive, care to share your findings in this area? Yeah, I am looking for a mind handout:p the areas of artisan crafts seem to be make, or buy only, to aid time or help ep, still shaky on these, but learning.

Yeah  this was pointed out to me, way too expensive to breed to a high level animal, and you have to factor in that 10%
you pay, I myself did not even tthink of that till that too was shown to me, 10% of a mill, can wipe you out if you have it to begin with!
Breeding is scary, I mainly breed for me, sell the 2 1st levels anything skips I keep;)

I tried to keep everything on one word doc. o_O I made a lot of work for myself as I had to go threw and place all on their own docs. this is something all newbies need to know right off make these you will not regret.

-.- This one I learned when I had to stop trees half way done and stop stalls, now because MM happens 1 time every month I don't place trees here and watch the day, may place some stalls right after an event but 99% of the time I just grow crops here.

Getting the barn filled up is hard, base line of animals/crops, then them artisan crafts, I plan on going threw them and working out a list of always have basic need, nice to have, to why bother? that way I know what is a waste and others I will rely on, as PPP, PJ, pink jelly, white innocence, terror B, KAB, Carrot bread, and more hat should be the base needs, still working that list.

After the last two events, I am also keepng a min. of drop items in the barn too, -.- I was sooo close to useing every board I had for a stall, I really had no idea they would use drops, I missed that memo.

My basic game plan. Main field, trees on the edges, 44 2x2s unless crop growing event is running. Always make sure that crops will mature before MM starts. During crop growing events I start with 2x2s while building up to at least 200 seeds. Then I start up the harvester (coupons or quest step I have ready to go). This setup can easily be converted to animal pens or breeding pens when needed but I think in terms of MM.
Magical glade. Rare trees around edges, pink pens and red pens also around edges but leaving center for 2x2 crop fields or breeding pens (see my picture in the Pink Royals club). Of course, the pens get ripped out for crop growing events where everything goes to 1x1s. The trees stay.
Green meadow. Put most of my animal pens/workshops here. If nothing is pressing, I leave 2x2 crops set up in a way that breeding pens can easily replace them. As always, trees around the edges and can rip out pens for crop growing events.
Baha. Trees around the edges, pens around the edges, crop in center that can be easily ripped out for breeding pens. Between events, I try to run Pineapple cake and 1x1s to maximize space/harvests. If downtime is short, I run 2x2s. Can't run Pineapple cake and CAC at the same time so I juggle depending on needs.

I have completed events for the last 6 months this way. The trees around the edges have never left me wanting on event crops although it probably takes me a bit longer than some to finish.

    YMMV. :)

I leave the main field for crops and events. I do put apple trees around the edges. Apples are needed for so many feeds & they are harvested twice a day so easy to pull. I don't have harvester subscription and with this new availability of CAC 1x1 plots are to hard to do manually. So have been trying 1x2's, they don't require as much manure & water but still getting a nice boost in crop quantity.

Green Meadow is for crops with trees (mostly non-rare XXL's) around the edges, 1x2's when CAC in use otherwise 2x2's. Magic Glade is usually full of pens & rare trees because of the boost the Magic Glade gives to animal pens & trees.

Since it usually takes most of the 1st day of any event to generate enough seeds before I need the Magic Glade for crops, I leave the pens out and replace with fields as they are harvested. That way I don't lose too much breeding time.

So far I have found this pretty easy to set up & take down without having to plan to far ahead of time. Trees are planted/pulled 1st thing in the AM or last thing in the PM. Field size depends on events, CAC/PJ use & harvester availability.

As time goes by and I am seeing where a month plan could work if you had the know how, take this month, we had pools to place on the island.
I would like to be able to set this up so I can set things, like you use certain crafts and eat certain things, for stalls or crops, but can you get good enough to be able to set it up for no loss to products used?

ok, say we have breeding, certain things get used eaten and some things left over and just run out, but can you <set> them so you get animals going and manure is not good market anymore and that florist uses it, so having the flower making go together with animals would go good together, and set things in line like this

The well done barn is the center, I tried to play the market, but need more products and CC's to play that click is not easy but I will try again when I am more set up.

I just can't get it out of my head that a good month set up will not only use my stuff better but save time and CC;s.

Since we are not all in the same market, you need to calculate the cost-effectiveness yourself, for your market. Others can give you a rough idea, but the variation can be big at times.

I definitely don't plan for a month. I have a basic, overall plan for when there are no events, though those stretches are getting rare. Then I plan for each event.
