I noticed a discussion of the Harvest Hoedown in one of the threads. Again, anticipation of the Harvest Hoedown is one of the main factors which drive tree fruit prices throughout the year. Those who have participated in the past are able to attest to the fact. Tree fruit has nearly doubled in price on some markets which make the actual exchange value computations (presented above) meaningless at this point. It is now time to draw a line and begin to acquire at a more aggressive rate. I will present this for you using the market of mud_pie_man.

The event has always been a barn-emptier for some and has destroyed many farms and for years. Lack of preparedness will not allow one to participate efficiently, it simply will not. If holding ccs and attempting to prepare at the last minute then there is a high likelihood of overpaying for items needed. You will overpay I assure you.

Finishing 19th last year, I would NOT plan to enter into the TOP 1000 competition this year without a minimum of 265,000,000 (exchange value) of items to donate. If you do not have it now and want to play then get it! If not, you will be kicked out.

I will send the mud_pie_man farm if it is able to stay on course and prepare properly. The farm is not news but I do not believe old enough to survive .... so I anticipate destroying it in the process. But if it perseveres some will be proud of it and even miss it. If there is one shadow of a doubt then it will not participate and will sell all of its holdings and be rich with ccs to look at.

This farm is not selling remnants of last years Harvest Hoedown just yet and prices of all have moved into the profit region.

265,000,000 is my estimate today of those who will remain ... and this is conservative!

Begin to prepare now if you have not or forget about it! Please let us all know if we may answer anything.

    TOP 1000 = 265 million EV.

What if only TOP 500 for next Hoe-down event??

SillyGuy, for sure you would tie me down. :)

    For TOP 500, I'll say 420,000,000 minimum.

And I know a couple who are ready for it.

I was gathering last year and remember some tree fruit rising in price enough to enter into a profit region. It happens. In order to continue funding I would sell and rebuy a cheap fruit with a lower price to exchange rate. It is a troublesome thing to do but it makes no sense not to. Sure this is not like you. I know you have bought for a while now. This is like taking the profits and moving ahead with the event. Remember to buy more though.

With tree fruit prices rising, I am keeping an eye on Roses for bargains with this farm and the mud_pie_man farm. In the past they were needed for the flower donation.

Are you ready if products are allowed to be donated? or feed? or artisan products? or tools? Any one of these can happen in order to get to the playground for free donation.

I just can't grow all those junks on this farm and the mud_pie_man farm. One is enough. And allowing products would probably knock it out.

Count me in, broke. TOP 500 or TOP 1000, bring it on...!! xDxD

Of course, I had no hassles with the tree fruit rising in price. I would use what is provided by the spreadsheet, it worked.

IF anything else are allowed to the TOP XXX competition, I am not going to donate any feeds (most 3/4 quantity of them, I'd sell when last event, it gave me a huge responbility to spend them later). But products, artisan products, or tools, I think I will be okay.

It takes hard work and enough supplies to be able to participate all events during this year, especially the events that require calculations with Exchange Value. What would I do? I can't resist myself for bigger profits later...xDxDxD

Anyway, I'm too SILLY to talk about it now...:cry::cry:

Glad the spreadsheet worked for you. Only one adjustment now: The acquisition % might need to be changed for your market.

I am going to list the quantities of the tree fruit I have at the current acquisition rate and then draw a line. That line will tell me where I raise it. I will increase it and still acquire but some items will be eligible now that were not before.

One decision I got no help with the En Forum: Which tree fruit to give or NOT give? This will be your question until the moment you donate. Then it is come what may. But after the event there may be some you wish you had not donated. But you had no way of knowing.

If indeed you change your rate, don't forget to take that inventory and draw the line so that you will know a few months from now.

With feed you will have no choice but to donate them if required to get to the playground. That is just something to keep in mind and many will not be ready for that. Just in case I will hold a set amount on the mud_pie_man farm. I doubt it will be needed but just in case I will have it. If not then I'll just dump it. Careful with products, the parrot feathers are held in large quantities by the big boys and girls. I have set a rate and acquire them routinely on the broke farm but the mud_pie_man farm does not have the resources.

You have a few months. What if so many EV of grain or fruit is called for? Ready? Developers could even ask for so many EP of Baha crops or Baha tree fruit. Ready?

Apples and Walnut should not go, but I have noticed Plums are nearly in the eligible category as well as Lemon. Takes a lot of both to equal anything worthwhile.

All we can do is the best we can and I am sure you are keeping this in mind. Have fun, you have earned it. Just stay on course and leave the wild investments to after the event if you can. Congratulations in advance. I am so so happy for you.

    Hard call.:cry::wuerg::cry:

IMHO, I won't donate tree fruits that potentially will benefit later. Or, I will donate 75% at maximum quantity from my barn. I'll keep holding some for other purpose.

Eg: TOP 1000 = 265 million EV. I will provide at least 331.25 million EV in the barn.
I will donate 265 million EV without breaking my supplies. Nothing to lose to play at the playgrounds.xDxDxD
I'm going to enjoy the big show without having to feel frustrated.;)

"Or" is the beginning of your dilemma. You just will not know for sure for even months after the event. I will offer an opinion later but I can be so so very wrong here.

Remember the Lychee. I had hundreds of thousands. I did not donate all as you would not. Today I would not have given any but I had no way of knowing. It's like what was easy to acquire up until now, you may not wish to part with. Back and forth you will go. Then when the day comes you have done all you know to do and go with it.

Of course you know by now that making ccs along the way is a part of it. You have to fund your adventure into the unknown.

Idk, broke. I do not have as much experiences as you have.

What you said is referring to what I would like to do. Long time ago, I had a plan to donate Angel's Trumpets as one of good EV generator for playing at playgrounds. One moment, there was called it for Chameleon feed. It came to be a profit market.

Is it a good choice to donate them to play at playgrounds?

I thought hard and here is my conclusion :
    • If I have 100,000 Angel's Trumpets in my barn, I think I will not be having dilemma whether I donated 100 or 500 Angel's Trumpets.
    • If I donated 98,000 of 100,000 Angel's Trumpets, I am sure whoever did it will feel the dilemma.

No matter how much funding you have, if you can not accept to lose, then you will not enjoy the big show.

I can guarantee it! I got what your points, broke!:)

    Thank you in advance...:inlove::D

Hi SillyGuy and Broke I have been around to see 4 Harvest Festival Events, Since I have started to play this Game. In the First Two Years my Barn was no were near to Complete in the Top 500. But in Third Year 2013 I could have donated most of my Farm but the risk was too great to pull out at Last Mins. But Watch 5 of The English Forum Farmers all Failed to Stay in Top 500.

I Learn a few Lessons over this so I made sure that i can complete for 2014 Harvest Festival. Donated considerable amount of Fruits that was actually Cheap to Buy or Stock up. But This Year will be much Harder to Stock up or Donate as Prices of most Fruits have gone up considerably plus not many Big Bulk Buys of Fruits in the Markets at the Moment to Help Stock up for this Kind of Event.

For Example if it was Bare Minimum of 170 Million In Exchange Value to just Barely stay in Top 500 or Top 1000. If it was basis on Maples which have Exchange Value of 170 for Each Maple Fruits. You Would need at Least a Million Maple Fruits just to hang on remaining in Harvest Festival Event.

Under Current Market Conditions of Trading Prices of Maples in the Markets The Costing to do this would be Ranging from 50 Million to 80 Million CC

SillyGuy if you was to donate say 98,000 Angel Trumpets into Top 500/Top 1000 it would actually hardly make any Impact at all into this Event. You have to be a very Extreme Hoarder of Fruits of Any Kind of Fruits Really. From my experience, It Not Worth to Donate any other Than Fruits for this Kind of Event it would be very foolish or very Stupid to Throw away a Fortune that takes ages to Build up.

It there is no harm to keep an eye how the Fruit Markets are doing or Constantly search the Markets for bargains than you can sell for lovely profits so Proceeds can be used to buy up Bargain Fruits in the Markets. I have been doing this for a while not so many Bulk Bargains of fruits in my markets.:p

Very interesting conversation you are having here:). Make me wish I could join you on the adventure but my stock is no way big enough.... I could maybe start gathering now and join you next year:music:. I have only one goal left which I must achieve - soup'n friends - and I have spent quite a lot on that:oops:. Maybe you could help me set up some goals on the way? I'd like to become a real vulture 8)- just playing by the hunch now and feeling like a chick still sitting in my broken egg shall compared to you - haha
So help me on the way would you?
What are those spreadsheets you are talking about?

    Hello Mooboy,

I am sure although I had 200,000 Angel's Trumpets, it will not take me to TOP 1000. Not even for 30 million EV. Do not worried, I have something bigger than those...xDxDxD

Just to explain the feeling of a dilemma.:)

mud_pie_man has been trading on your market. The farm will not reach level 77 in order to buy maple sap. Certainly some prices will rise as buying will become more aggressive.

I believe the Harvest event is mid-October. I hope someone will be more specific.

CCs must be made in some way as one prepares. Some tree fruit bought early enough will move into the profit region and one must sell in order to fuel further expansion. Without doing so then one is trying to survive on only selling what one produces and buy what is needed. There are events and other distractions with prevent one from preparing.

If one has not been preparing up until now then do so immediately if one wishes to compete.

The mud_pie_man farm is level 75 and cold use another full year. Nothing has been hidden and all has been disclosed.

    Pardon me,

I am so not savvy when i comes to this, but when I read it a few times it starts to make a workable grid.
I get lost in math, never comes out the same, I don't know what is what, I see it said the you divide by .60 and I think I read .90
I am at the point were goofin' off is starting to hurt me, sort of one step forward to fall 3 back sort of thing.
Finding to do the next levels of quests I can't be growing crops, trees are getting in and just no room/time for crops.

If someone could check this and see if I am getting it or off path?

    corn
ev value <the number in the barn by the coin> 4.7
    selling at 40.25

    I would divide 4.7 by .90? 5.2
    or
    4.7 divide by .60? 7.83?

I would either see this as a huge profit for the seller, and wait to buy, or 2. anything in difference is the number I want?:sleepy:

I want to learn, but stuck. I am slow I know this any help you can spare would be most thanked for.

  18. SillyGuy

    SillyGuy Forum Veteran

    Hi keltic,

EV of corn = 4.7 (Exchange Value of each item was constant/never change and was set up by Game Developers).
    Nothing was wrong!

    The formula is:
Net profit = Listing price - tax fee (10% of Listing Price)

    Listing price is always at 100%, so Net profit = 100% - (10% of 100%) = 100% - 10% = 90%
Net profit = 0.9 of the Listing Price

If you want to get a Net Profit at 40.25 CC/unit. The calculation will be :
    40.25 = 0.9 of Listing Price
    Listing Price = 40.25 devided by 0.9 = 40.25 : 0.9
    Listing Price = 44.722222

You should list it (corn) at 44.72 CC/unit.

    Hope it helps!

Ok now I did the spreadsheet and picked the 6 best according to Mkt/exch (does it have a name?)

Looking at Brokes numbers on page 21 my numbers are no way near. I know the prices on tree fruit went up and it may not bee a good time to buy. But kumquat and papaya may be okay? Please think with me.
I have only kept an eye on the most expensive tree fruits as I sell them and on bananas, coconuts and mango cause I buy them for use.
How often do you change your spreadsheet?
Do you only sell when the price is above the exchange value?

I realize I can get a better overview by doing the spreadsheet even combining it to what is most profitable to grow - sell the expensive tree fruits and buy the cheep ones to build up a stock, right?

    @meba091

The spreadsheet is ONLY a tool that helps us to see how far the market is growing.

After you create your own sheet on a paper, you have to record and to observe it at least 3-7 days before you set up your buying rate. When you already set up your buying rate (to acquire the tree fruits or anything else at some point rates), of course you would find for how many CC that you're willing to sell (based on free of tax fee) of any tree fruits to obtain a profit and so on.
We have dynamic market where the price will change every time.

Listen your market demands and be ready for filling your barn...!!
