Strategy for Kitty Chaos

Drop depends on the trophies and luck.
Me at 30% of LL rune, XXL maple sap and XXL almond often yield drops. But it does not at any time and will depend drop rate values given by Dev Team. Each event will be different in value.

 

My rare trees around the edges are helping my drops. I have milled 40 entertainers so far. Waiting to get 100 before actually entertaining the kitties with them. Short night so I just ran with the event crop instead of longer. I may plant longer tonight for more drops if my event crop numbers by the end of the day look good for finishing. I'm not using manure, just water and CAC on 1x1s all fields (with trees on edges).

First, I must admit that I am not an expert in XXL tree method. There was oldmcdonald who is more familiar than me, I tested her method and found that she was telling the truth.
Second, there are many experiments I want to try more, one of which is:

• instant roses vs instant carnations
• refined carnations with water and manure vs XXL tree method with using turbo mulch

Third, all of these experiments have to be done several times in the same number of plots used in a same event. At this time, I do not have an instant carnation refinement and do not have much time to play around.

My advice is "to do what you think you should do". There are no right and wrong in playing style in this game. But it's important to think wisely without killing the joy.

 

That is what I have noted as well. Currently, I have gotten some from a few XXL trees and a few needed high EP stables/workshops left out - but most of my fields are set for event crop ( and refined carnations and ginger overnight). First overnight drop total - 138.

 

Well I have 3 fields of (edit) Osiers (edit) and figured I need 6.4 harvests to get the required 100 Cat Teasers.
Then I will be putting out chickens and island animals to make some CCs on Poo farming.
Nothing spectacular in prizes... no GBs but lots of EP/BEP and two wonder trees.
Only 2 SG for a prize??? C'mon loosen up the purse strings BP and give at least 5 for these events!

 

There has been 2 resets since the game started and I have got only 6-7 balls of yarn as gift
Can't I expect a little more help from my friends and neighbors ?

 

I have entertained 77 kitties so far. But now I'm running short of drops. I did Not buy any packages but I did use refined roses as I built up my starter seeds. I have plenty of osier as I just got in the rhythm of planting it I planted it again before bed Got up in the middle of the night to harvest. I'm thinking of running a crop of refined hazelnuts for the drops....decisions, decisions.
I'm not even thinking of competing in the Top 1000. I was supposed to be away today but have come down with a cold

I spent money on BB, Super Grow, etc and 1 day later I'm STILL not showing up in the Top 1000. And I've played with almost 40 kitties. So as of right now I'm giving up on the entire challenge. Stopped playing Farmerama for almost a year a while back. And today I'm considering giving it up altogether. Way too much work. Kirk from Alabama, USA

 

You have to entertain at least 101 kitties to show up on the list and the first 100 don't count on the list.

You opened your mystery items in the middle of the cattail and wool gathering frenzy!! That is awesome. I am burning with curiosity to find out what I've received, but didn't want to miss out on gathering more event crops and drops. Any chance, any chance at all, that the mystery items generated drops? I'm ran my cattail station too long and I'm now up over 5000 osier and need to switch back into drop generating mode - should have been counting, oops. Halfway to a finished Cat CR.

 

Aetheria14 - Next time I will notice & let you know whether they yielded drops or not ? They gave us 200 Ep, that's why I planted the mystery trees. So one drop might be got from them. But forgot to notice.

Don't stop playing all together. Play in a leisure way and in a way that suits you routine life. Its more of the hare and tortoise story. Slow and steady wins the race. Doing everything very very fast will lead to frustration. You can build up your farm only step by step and there is no jumping up instantly.

Getting up at middle of the night !!! I think you have come down with FOCD. It is rampant nowadays in Farmerama, especially during the events.
Cure : Real life heavy work load, vacation tour, guests & illness are the only cures for FOCD known right now

I agree Aetheria, even though I'm dying to see what I won in mystery stables & trees, I have to focus on growing for event!

You spent money and yet you were able to feed only 40 kitties!!!!!
I am going on with just normal farming and fed that many comfortably!

 

And I'm Level 80 on Farmerama and Level 113 on Bahamarama!

 

Looking for more drops today so I broke down and planted refined roses in the glade. Have Early Bloomer, Water Love, SG/Manure love. Used water and SG (no manure) and got down to just under 2 1/2 hours. Will report on drops later.



EDIT: Got 15 drops off of the glade full of roses. Not much better than the event crop so I won't be using anymore of my precious SG on that. Plan B will be carnations.

 

What level are your trophies and do you have them on the Living Legend rune? This has a great effect on drops. Do you plant on 1x1s or 2x2s and do you use CAC? If the answers to these questions are "IDK, what's that? 2x2s and No" you should read the General Event Strategy thread.

 

For those wondering about drops and the mystery stables/trees I have most definitely received drops from both items. Problem is of course that the stable takes up 4 spaces and you will only get 1 drop if you get one at all. The trees are a bit better as they only take up one space.

I'm doing this very leisurely as I just want to finish the 100 and maybe make a little money selling poo on the side. At the moment I've got plenty of drops but the crop is very slow going. I did plant long term stuff overnight and I'm using my glade for poo farming so it's what I expected. I'm also only using water as a buff although I did propagate the seeds with all buffs to start.

Good luck to all those pulling out the stops for the top 1000! I'm rooting for ya and hopefully your getting some good stuff from all the kitties as well.

In addition to what CaliChrome has said, there's also a SOS thread that you can post in if you're having trouble with drops. You can find the thread here. Pay no attention to comparisons, it's not a contest. Besides, the "regular farming" listed above includes using the SOS thread.

But just club them birds and stick in storage, I would say dump in my LL but we not on same playing field <grins> cats can't eat the unconscious, or is that andy capp one rule in the game not allowed to kick a player in the head that is unconscious? never can keep them straight.

As others have asked, what is your LL's at? I am level 82 thank-you kitties, smelt nice new crop for me, but I got the 100 done, going on to chickens now I be smelling some CC's coming my way! But I also set up my before event crops got some sweet drops, but also have the refined roses, flower row and planted cotton on one field and them alone gave up 39-43 drops, my LL is at 26% I'm working it paused due to space thing might need my trees but will get back to it.
But the cotton I used as I have to finish refinement on that I am one level from the carnations every player has and uses big time so planted plain cotton SG a few fields of it and lookie, lookie all done.
Do you have the goodies? I know I would give my left hind leg for a howie, but I got others.
I needed a lot of advise to get my farm off the ground but it is fun don't quit, just change what path your on, next one could be the winner.

 

I have fed one Kitty thus far, and he was cheeky enough to give me just 5 000 Ep!

But I'm not too worried. Last night I was awake long enough to plant my Refined Raspberries everywhere, and they are Drop magnets, literally. With all the Refinements and water they take 10.23 h (normally a 17+ h crop), perfect for overnight. Advice to all that need more drops; work on refining those Berries! My main (198 fields) yielded 101 Balls of Yarn just now, which I think is not too shabby
