pnp, I think it's just those at the bottom, so say the 995-1005th players donated the same amount, the five that donated last would be eliminated from the top 1000, thus giving us our top 1000; which I see as being incredibly unfair considering time differences etc.

My strategy is to keep playing and growing osiers since the drops keep coming.
The prizes are nice and I have 61 past the required 100... no way of making the Top 1000.
So I will continue and will keep gifting my neighbors.

I'm with Banjo with this one - still doing the Kittys but know I will not make the top list. I am liking the little prizes which all add up. It also makes stress free farming until I 're-make' my farm. Just wish we got 5 at least of the Turbo Mulch as I use it quite a lot and love getting it as prizes (I seem to be the only one who does!)

I am with Clashstrummer on this one, I race myself to finish any event as fast as I can. One reason is to have the "gift" of free time to stock up on items I need in the barn.
A vary wise farmer said in a forum to make as much traditional chutney as I can while on level 3 on the jams, so I got one field just doing the crops needed, I love gift time I got some serious chutney and more to go. restocking animals, getting events done all on the free time. ;)

Well I said I wasn't going for the Top 1000, but..... I kind of got started and just can't stop:p A wonderful neighbor encouraged me just a bit and well my competitive nature took over.
Now I'm sleep deprived, living on coffee and not thinking to clearly anymore :D and Loving it xDxD

My hat's off to anyone who is trying this.... And we get to do this for 47 more hours

    Good Luck Everyone :inlove:

Blessings to you JJenks as you push for the Top 1000! Rah! Rah! :D

Like Banjoman and farmerumf, I am happily milling for prizes. I am now 52 kitty gifts over the 100. And like Clashstrummer, I open as quickly as I make them - like a kid tearing into presents!

My favorites so far are the sorb tree, harvester coupons and the BEP which has sent me up a level.

Good luck to all still working on the Top 1000! EN forum folks already consider you top farmers, but we would like everyone else to know it too!:inlove:

Just finished my cloud row/100. I will likely continue donating, just for fun (not even contemplating the top 1000).

Basically, the way I see it, while a lot of the prizes can be earned/bought regularly (CC, EP, BEP, Tools, even craft products can be made or bought), there are several that need BB/real money. The things you cannot buy without using BB/real money are the wonder pens and trees, harvester coupons, powerfeed (ok fertilizer, too, but I don't think most people value those much...lol), supergrow, etc. Wonder pens and trees are particularly hard because, though a couple are now offered in farmer society quests, they mostly are not available except in special events such as this one.

Anyway, for me... I already have more rare pens than I can use, but its still fun to get more.

So, is this event "cost effective" to continue? Probably not. I can make or buy most of the items through drops, buying in the market, etc. HOWEVER, its fun. And... who knows? If I do score one of the really big prizes (golden banana??????), then it will be worth it.

    pnp,

    Look at it this way.

List ends at 1000 with say 100 kitties.

Number 1001 also has 100 kitties.
    Number 1002 has 100 kitties.

Number 1002 donates another kitty and now is up on the list somewhere. Old number 1000 with 100 kitties is now at 1001 and no longer on the list.

Event closes and possibly one cheater is eliminated. Number 1001 moves up to 1000 but number 1002 is just shy of making it.

    Does this help?

If I had not been away for the lase few days I would have donated extra.
But now I can only manage extra 30.
Well, one day I will be there.
See you after 10 days, going on vacation. Ceteris paribus, I will log in once daily...

Just put the last of the cat toys in the mill for the Main event. I have some event crop remaining. I put some "refined" onions out and plan to harvest it tonight.

Is the time they're going to use the time from the first kitty donated that put them in the Top 1000 list? Or the time only for the players at the bottom of the list? ANY time related cutoff, once again, puts those of us living on the wrong side of the planet at a serious disadvantage. I believe the end time is 5a here? So I would have to be online around 3-4a making my final donations. After nearly six days of dumping everything on plots, including SG, and harvesting every 1.5h. UGH! See why I don't bother with these things? If you're really worried about it... try looking for OAs for previous Harvest events, like last years Harvest Hoedown. Or maybe you can find someone with a better memory. Or someone who made a screendump of the bottom of the list from previous events. To be fair they should have stated in advance how ties will be settled. I feel the scenario I mentioned earlier is the more fair than iffy time related cutoff. The time related cutoff would definitely not be fair to number 1001, when the dust settles. [There will definitely be complaints from anyone that contributes the same number of cat toy as number 1000, and it costs them nothing to include number 1001, etc in the winners.]

I know some have offered to help me with my farm when I was going thru difficult a time by logging in and taking care of things. While I appreciate their concern and generous offer, I always declined. First of all, the farm isn't that important to me to have someone else use up their valuable time. Next, I would want ALL three of my farms maintained the same. So I would have expected them to do all three of my farms in addition to theirs. NOT realistic, I would never ask someone to do that. FINALLY, it's against BP rules and quite possibly will get those players eliminated from an event like this, among other things. Not worth the risk.

Back to try to puzzle out my newest RL challenge... I wish RL was as easy as this game...

Thank you both CaliChrome and Suzee for further explanation. It was very early in the morning here and I guess I had a panicked meltdown moment. My own lack of sleep and competitive nature must have short circuited my brain for a little while :pI am very happy with the good mixture of prizes from the event.

If I run auto builder to delete some empty/blank plots from my field is it gonna delete those where I have seeded a crop?

You may have un-ticked the box in the event space in the city (where you check your kitties progress) (bottom left - there should be a green tick in the box)

Teddy just posted the Nublon event info. Is it fair to presume balls of yarn will continue to drop until the end of Kitty Chaos, or will the Nublon drop item, batteries, which starts tomorrow (and oddly before the Nublon event begins) replace them? If we will be getting both on the overlapping day, will the amounts be smaller or unaffected?

We'll get both :) And the amounts should be independent :)
