What is major source outage ?

My internet seems to be hit by major source outage. I tried to find out what it is. But couldn't find out what it means. My network provider are struggling to restore nets. Can anyone tell me what it is, so that I may have an idea about the seriousness of it and when my net will be restored.

 

Could be damage to or connectivity problems with main hubs or communication cables. Also could be internet service providers doing some major changes. Hard to say with no other information. So sorry for the difficulties you are having 12ss12.

 

Oh those ISP's love to be super vague about problems. Could even be a problem with the satellite link itself with that wording. Is the provider not giving you any kind of time frame for full restoration? I feel your pain though I went through almost 4 months of intermittent and slow service due to "solar flares" last year. Not sure if they just made that up or not as it sounds like a great excuse that is beyond anyone's control to me.

Hahaha! Solar flares....maybe that is my problem. I have been having ongoing issues with internet and last Sept. cable company gave us a new modem. Then sent us another one bc the 1st one wasn't working correctly. After being down 8-10 hrs on Sunday and again on Monday, I called the cable company (all that was going thru my head was Jim Carrey in Cable Guy) and told them enough is enough. The amount of money we pay this is absolute BS. Sent not 1 but 2 techs out Tuesday. "All is good now" is what I was told. Internet went down again this morning I have a really big hammer in my kitchen. Wonder if they would give me another modem if mine was smashed??

 

Julie, You are sailing in the same boat as I ? Feels good that someone is drowning along with us when we are drowning. Two is company.

Is your problem solved now ?

My line problem is solved. Getting my ADSL & Internet Light in my modem. But still internet is not connected. Tried configuring IP. Still not connected. Waiting for the service person. May be tomorrow it will be solved. Then once again unlimited net. Wow. Will feel great. Nearly half a month passed before this problem could be solved. I couldn't beat your 4 months, clashstrummer. I have to accept the defeat.

 

It is better 12ss12. But it still gives me grief once in a while. Maybe just a reminder???? Hope yours get straightened out. The one thing they haven't fiddled with is the line going from the house to the pole. I will ask for the same 2 techs that were here as they didn't have their butts you know where

 

At last Internet problem solved. I was very happy to be once again in unlimited net. I wanted to do a happy dance. But then found forum won't load in however way I tried. Ransacked my brain and after nearly an hour, now I found out a way. Leave Google Chrome and come to Opera. Hurray ! Forum opened. Somehow everything is fine now. Glad.

I too have had troubles with Chrome...but since using Windows10 Ive had nothing but bliss! So glad you are able to enjoy your service again dear, it can be beyond nerve wrecking.

 

Thanks farmerlily22. But the Fourm is still troubling me. Can open it only in Opera. Not in other browsers. Chrome is easy to use than Opera. Waiting that someday something would happen and suddenly it will open in chrome too. It was many times, the game which was not loading. But the game loads. Forum doesn't. Peculiar !

 

My chrome & other web browsers other than Opera won't load the Forum.

Google (developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ ) says,
"Eliminate external render-blocking Javascript and CSS in above-the-fold content".

Can you suggest any solutions. I am having a terrible time. Net won't stay constant. It keeps going & coming several times within few minutes. Have complained. Google copes up with this net problem. But opera doesn't reload. It gets logged out and inert.

 

I came in through Firefox with no problem. Hope you get your issues sorted out. GL

I tried Firefox too. It didn't open.

Late last night an thought struck me. My default search engine is google in all browsers except Opera. Opera loads the forum. But at a slight disconnection or low signal I get logged out from the game & also the forum. The screen does not move further. I have to refresh and then once again login to the game & then forum. But in Google Chrome, this is not a problem. It starts from the previous place where I left. I do not get easily logged out. Its patient and sees whether the signal resumes after few seconds or mins.

The thought that struck me was google cannot load the forum. So why not open the game through yahoo search engine and then the forum from the game. Lo ! It worked. Yahoo opens my forum in google chrome. I right now opened the forum through yahoo in google chrome and posting this post. I am so happy. Herein after I can do the Forum in the easy & faster way.

Yahoo opens the forum in all my browsers. Soooooooooo happy.
