Doc, what is your longest crop for both main and island crops? What are the percentages of your trophies? The rainforest does help but it is not going to be the only thing that will make completing an event possible. I don't know what level you are but hard events challenge even long time players. On my 'baby' farm, I am shooting for level 8 for the trees and stables with no hope (or plan) of actually finishing the event. That farm is level 76 and does not have the rainforest open nor all of Baha. I wish you all the very best and hope you will enjoy the prizes you are able to get.

If you look on page 1 of this thread, you will find a link posted by SillyGuy for General Event strategies that will help you with drop suggestions. It is a great guide with sound information.

Done! Made it through Horus only delivering honey:)
Congratulations Doc on the fine result from the stables.

Good luck to those still fighting the horror of Horus!

Finished and now back to full time beavering! :D

Congrats Meba for "sticking with it" on the honey! :p

Good luck to everyone still at it! Horus may be horrible, but he isn't invincible. Persevere!

Still 35 drops to finish. Might do it tomorrow. Following the path shown by all the brilliant players in my baby farm - resetting, resetting, resetting............indiscriminately as I don't have enough resources in the farm. Concentrate on other farms & give it a try.

Meba - that's great on Honey.

I am following broke's strategy for market. Will indulge in that strategy for the next event.

Off the record : I find it is the high level players who complain that products asked to be donated are unfair ;)

    Hi David !

Nice to see you & your poem after a long time. Keep the silver coin intact, you might need it for a future event. ;)

Congrats for making it to TOP 1000.

Chameleon & Horse stables red & Sorb tree from the rewards. Others are usual

    Hi folks.
On the island my longest crop, not counting event crops, is chili at 4 hours. On the mainland my longest crop is Iris, or spinach both just over 17 hours. With Willow's help last night I planted quite a bit of spinach which will be ready to harvest in less than an hour. I read the posting at the link you are talking about and found it very helpful. I am level 74 on mainland and 50 on Baha. Unfortunately, I've neglected my trophies and my crop trophy is at level 8 while my livestock trophy is still at level 1. :(

I just need level 12 to finish animals. I am at level 10 on horus, level 9 on crops and fruit. The drop rate has improved some today, but it's still not enough and I have received several treasures from other very kind players. Thank you very much to all of them and to poor Willow who was up far into the night trying to help me. On Bahama I only have the main field open, so that hurts me too. I have been able to get horus to accept all honey, except for 12 ostrich eggs near the start. I think I've worn him down to where he realizes he's only going to get honey out of me so it's only taking a couple resets on him each time to get to honey. :) I thought I would finish animals, which I should be able to do after this next harvest, fingers crossed, and go from there.

I really wanted the cloud row, but if I don't get it I'll live. I've gotten 5 very nice stables, 10 wander trees, 10 Baha wander trees, and a lot of EPs and CCs out of this event even if I don't finish it. It's just frustrating to not be able to finish because of a lack of drops. Everything needed to fill the orders has been very reasonable and easy to do.

Thank all of you for your help! That's what makes this game really fun. So I'll keep plugging away. Congratulations to all who have finished and good luck to all who are still toiling away.

Update: I just harvested all my spinach and got 11 treasures which allowed me to finish the animal portion of the event. I replanted my spinach area with Kohlrabi, which with water and manure will be ready in 10 hours.

okay, I am obviously still a newbe, but how do we manufacture our own timber. What type of workshop is that? I ended up having to purchase it in the market. I am also seeing a lack of drops but tonight before bed i will plant carnations and hopefully have good results on drops in the morning. Good luck everyone!!!

if you can't have both, is it better to have the cloud row, or the decorations? I've got the sphinx, but I'm not getting enough drops to finish the whole event. So should I go for the cloud row, or the decorations? Thank you.

    Doc,

You'll need all the decorations to make the cloud row work, so my advice is to focus on getting the deco items first, then go for the CR.

    Hello again.
I have not given up yet!!!
I increased my crop trophy by 2 levels by using the advice I was given by a wise old veteran, although who it was escapes my weary, sleep deprived brain at the moment, of buying roses at the market and using them to increase my level. I also finished level 10 of Horus and that grizzly old buzzard took pity on me and is only asking for 12 honeys from me without even having to be reset. HAH!!!
I have finally, almost, conquered that dirty bird!!!

I am also taking the advice of cpeterson, thank you very much my kind person, and going after the decorations first and then the CR, if time permits, which I know it probably won't, but what the heck, it is just a game and it's a heck of a lotta fun. So I say to all of you who are done CONGRATULATIONS, and to the rest of you who toil away a heart felt good luck!!

Finally finished Horus the Horrible yesterday, on 2 honeys in a row no less!:D I'd like to say I held steady and strong and didn't give in on anything that wasn't honey, but alas, I did finally cave during the last 4 and used koi, I think it was :wuerg::p. Cracked under the pressurexD. Done on spots, just 4 levels left on bearbabe, can you guess which room? Was actually getting honey about every other reset, but haven't gotten a single honey all day today.:cry: May actually have to break down and use my products, which I don't have a ton of on bear, just to finish, but se la vi, hopefully I can buy them back once the markets drop back to somewhere approximating normal. Congrats to all those who've managed to outlast the bird xD, and finished the event!

@Doc, my personal strategy, if given the option, is to always go for the decos first; you can't fill the cloud row without them (unless it's unthemed, of course), but you can use them without the cloud row.:)

Finished the event on both farms - gave up trying to hang on to my "precious" (otherwise know as products). Once I got my hoarding habit under control, I made a fortune selling all my excess: this farm made more than 30 million CCs and the baby farm made about 15 million CCs. Even if I spend half of it restocking ready for the next event like this, I will still be rich, rich, I tell you! :D

I have enjoyed this event, even if I did miscalculate on baby farm and have to do a little extra planting - but I did finish all the crops within 4 days on three fields. Which means I can get those beavers out and stock up in time for beaver breeding! xD

    Good luck everybody! ;)

illy1996 I did the same on my farm, I over did it on my planting, but no matter.... with carnations and workshops planted overnight I got over 160 drops this morning after harvesting... also thank you to my wonderful neighbors for helping me out with the drops. Banjoman thank you for the information on the timber workshop...... I was frustrated as I'd never even heard it mentioned and failed to even go look for it. (My version of temper tantrum)..... oopsie! I am happy to report i finished the event with 5 drops and 3 Sundials left.... some products left in my barn and a good amount of cc's... yay! Doc425 aim for the Living Legend Rune on the Tree of Wisdom and perhaps refinement of roses to reduce the grow time... this will help a lot with drops and bring you far in future events. Good luck everyone and have FuN!

The mighty Horus is felled!!!! Yes, I have finished Horus, thanks to spinach during the night, and the help of some wonderfully generous farmerama people who sent me treasures. I thank you all with all my heart and will do my best to pass it on and help the others struggling toward the finish line.

I also finished one more level of crops thus leaving only 3 more to go.

There is still a very slight glimmer of hope in Mudville folks!!:)

So, it's back to the fray I charge!

Congratulations Doc! I am very happy for you!

I am still working on Horus on both farms. Level 11 and 10 on BW. I will continue to reset until I go to bed tonight and then will just finish whatever he asks for. I have reset 49 times here on pnp and 41 (or 42?) on BW. I have been using sundials and all is well if you use 5 but when the counter is down to needing only 2 sundials, it takes 3. I noticed it yesterday but thought I was just not paying close enough attention but I did today. Not much anything can be done about it now since we are in the final hours. I appreciate all my wonderful friends and neighbors who have sent sundials and treasures.
