Just had my first and second go at the event game. I like it.
    First time round got 8 gold + 7x2 = 44 and 3,000CC, 2,000EP, 3,000BEP
    Second time got 3 gold + 12x2 = 54 and 1,000CC, 1,000EP, 1,000BEP

It took me til the second round to realise that the extra reward given with shooting the sheep wasn't worth it and to go for the double coins :p.
I think the shooting part of the game is easy and the coin requirements for the prizes are very reasonable. I just wish I could get the blossoms a lot quicker! (So for any of my farmer friends reading this, please do feel free to send me Blossoms ;)).
Hope everyone is enjoying the event. :music:I think it's a nice change personally.

farmer_broke - I too have noticed the absence & large cc's amount asked for high level crops (for over a week)....and now too for most products!!! I understand the crops...but have we donated products to the hoedown???:music:

I would have thought with so many growing long time crops & trees...that those prices would come down...not so.o_O

This event is proving to be a marathon...not a sprint.:p Patience is not a strength of mine....so I'm also jumping around & replenishing crops & tree fruit.

My strategy has changed.....now my farms have stopped. Call early this morning...Daddy has had another stroke and in the hospital. Just getting home and will go back again tomorrow. I am only online now for the comfort of routine before going to bed. I am only posting so my friends and neighbors will know what is going on so I don't need to send two dozen IGM. Good luck to all!

this morning, I harvest my crop, look the drop rate improve some.
Still ginger & Carnation, but I got over 100 blossom (with pet dragon & howie)
The significant different is GM with around 60 1x1 plot of carnation I got over 10 drops
that's huge different with initial starting harvest ( I just double the plot qty but yesterday
    I don't get any drop on 25 1x1 carnation!)
So, I will wait to see how tree drops come, if still low, I will not remove anymore tree
as I now had 138 blossom but 5 bobble.

I've only been playing for just over a month now. So far this is my experience with the current event.

At the start of the event I had approximately 3.5 full fields in trees. I don't have a lot of very high EV trees, so I made the best of what I had. I was able to get about 80 Field Baubles and was feeling pretty good. Then I started harvesting my crops, roughly 1.5 fields (I'm missing the fourth part to my Baharama Island still) and was surprised when I got a dismally low 20 or so Festival Blossom.

Since then I've switched my Baharama Islands to be all trees, and kept only the XXL/XL/Rare trees on my Home/Meadow/Glade. I'm using Crop Squares mostly (I don't have the refinements for this crop) and making sure to rotate my combined 23% worth of trophies to each field before I harvest. Unfortunately I'm still seeing very little Festival Blossoms, just like most others. An average crop for me usually nets 16-22 Festival Blossoms. So with 3 fields harvested roughly twice a day I end up with just enough to do 2 Premium Balls a day. With enough Field Baubles to do 4 a day.

My plan going forward in this event is to start researching Crop Squares. I'll wait another day before clearing all trees off my Home/Meadow/Glade.

My immediate goals following the event are to raise the 300 Stars needed to open up that trophy level and to finish off the 6 more additions I still need for Country Fair and Farming Contest. Continue to research Crop Squares and move into researching other long crops.

My guess is that I will end up with at least the cheapest cloud row and a few other things.

I was also wondering, with the Wonder Trees and Power Feed type prizes, are they a one time purchase, or can the be purchased multiple times?

PNP thoughts and prayers with you and your family - praying for a full and speedy recovery.

I have not seen an SOS thread - I have been traveling as usual and am taking a red eye in the morning again.
Tree field booble are low I have only received enough to mill one lot of premium balls. No issues with festival blossoms since planting two round of long crops.

You can only purchase any of the miscellaneous prizes once. If I could I would spend all my coins on PF (power feed). ;)

PNP, all my best to you and your family. ((hugs))

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Pnp; so sorry.

Have two fields producing blossoms, and everything else in trees - getting two harvests a day from each field. Wish the bobble drops were better, but things are what they are!

Will shooting my 5th bag of balls shortly - hope this time I can get the maximum stars!

I have not had time to read all the posts so I may be asking something that's already been talked about. Sorry if that's so.

Is there a general consensus about whether to use prime, or ordinary balls? I am doing fair on blossoms, but really struggling to get enough bobbles. So far I have a grand total of 80 coins. That's after 2 regular bags of balls and 1 bag of prime balls and reading the posts about how you should do the actual target shooting. I have 142 blossoms and 22 bobbles waiting to be milled and virtually all of my farming is done for the day. I have organic cotton for my night crop already planted on all my main lands. I still have to harvest a crop of passion fruit on Bahama, I'm using CAC today and need some plus it worked out right to fill the time before I plant my night crop of bamboo. That's the longest growing crop I have for Bahama. :( I've got all my Bahama trees out, including a bunch I bought after seeing the first day's drops.

So, I am really going to have to get lucky to get even close to the first cloud row, which is my ultimate goal, but now I'm wandering if I should be using prime, or regular balls to maximize the number of coins obtained. The gold leaf is not a factor, I've got plenty. Any advice/ discussion/opinions would be very welcome. Thanks everyone.

Update: 24 bobbles after my nightly tree harvest of my XXLs.

A side note. My thoughts and prayers are with you pnp, even though I don't know you, I feel like you're a friend through your wise words of wisdom in the forum. Best wishes to you and your family. It really puts all this into perspective.

Pnp, thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

NO we have been unable to donate products to the Harvest Hoedown. Last year the choice would have been pheromones the best, and this year at this time the choice is parrot feathers followed by eggs (market prices of both have more than doubled in the last year).

The price increase overall has been occurring for a long while now and is apparent to those having the higher level crops. Nothing prevents developers from calling for a specific crop NOR crops in a specific crop category. The categories are already set up for both mainland and Baha crops.

Say someone wishes to prepare for any such call. The EV of each may be viewed from barn stocks. If one must purchase in a specific category then it becomes obvious where one will get more EV for the ccs spent while viewing the market. Due to the nature of this event and the need for somewhat long time growing crops for drops, one need only grow strategically and accomplish the event objective and a preparedness objective.

Several are buying tree fruit for donation reasons. I believe I was using a buy rate last year of all 23.4% of their EV and below. The mud_pie_man farm is acquiring at 50% of EV and having trouble finding. Ready to resort to producing it....heaven forbid.

Growing crops for drops and have milled nothing yet. Slowly but surely. Will consider how others have played when ready.

Doc425, your best bet for balls is to mill the premium ones. This will get you the best return on coins. To help that out, you could spend some of your 80 coins on the tree packs (10 coins each for 6 Baha and/or 6 mainland trees). I would also change out some of your mainland crop areas for more mainland trees as those crops mature and are harvested.
