The Sounddogs Strategy

I've only been playing since September so I am still a newbie. I started with about 180 dogs and not as much PF. I bred the dogs until I ran out and got lucky on skips. I delivered the Dalmations to get the power feeds in the first level once I had more Dalmations than were needed for the quest. Once I got more PF I bred until I lucked out on higher level dogs. I also finished super fast using pheromones and with plenty of leftovers including Pugs, Elkhounds, Dalmations and more dogs. I have none of the breeding runes open on the Wisdom Tree so I'm not smarter or wiser than anyone else I'm not complex or complicated and neither is this quest. I wouldn't say there was any real knowledge or skill needed....You can only hope for good skips and of course anyone can use pheromones and a buff to make things faster. I just finished, but it was with very few skips. The extra I got were either 2 of the same level I was breeding for, or 1 I was breeding for and the rest basic dogs. It sounds like everyone who is getting a real skip is getting a skip to Pugsly. There are over 50 Pugslys for sale in my market.

It took me over 250 PFs and probably about 250 dogs to do it, counting the ones I got back. I had hoped to do some extra breeding, but being low on PF and hearing everyone's results I think I'll just call it a day on breeding. I do want to thank BP for adding more PF and dogs as prizes. I may not have made it without them.

Congratulations to everyone who is finished and, or doing well.
Good luck to everyone who is still struggling along, especially you, poor pnp. Who knows? Maybe the tyke will bring you luck.

 

I used 1 field for breeding and started with about 200 dogs. After 2 rounds of breeding I had everything I needed for this quest except 6 huskies. Tried a third round of breeding dogs hoping for huskies but just got dalmations and elkhounds. I normally just breed base animals but since I was running short of PF, I broke down and bred my extra elkhounds hoping for the elusive huskies. Thankfully that worked so I finished easily! Phew!!!

My best skips from the dogs were 4 spuds, 1 husky and 1 sparky.

Now hoping to get a few good skips on monkeys with my last 30 PF. Fingers crossed.

 

Now I am no longer frustrated but just giggling over the silliness of my farms.

I broke down and bred elkhounds hoping to skip to Spuds. Got Huskies. Ok, low on PF so went ahead to breed huskies to make Spuds. Skip right to Pugsly!

So far, no partying going on here. Too bad....a farm names puppiesnponies ought to have puppies!

A little extra breeding has turned out well - made a few million on dalmatians, husky and elkhounds. Prices are good for mid levels on my market, so it could be advantageous for those with extra animals to do a bit of selling instead of saving up for the Poker Night breeding quest.

Additionally, got a mustachioed cuckoo, furry bat, highland cow and business monkey from skips! Better skips than I have had in several past BBD events -glad they went in my favor this time. So sorry for those not getting what they hoped.

Finally finished but wow did I use a lot of PF on this one. I'm also down to only 58 dogs left. I'm trying some random breeding now just to flesh out my overall breeding stock. Hope fully the skips will be a bit better.

PNP I'm wishing you better luck! At least when I bred the huskies I did get the spuds I needed.

 

Finished the quest and got enough breeding dogs to complete up to step 6 in the coming permanent quest.
Also finished the last of the 4 cuckoos quests. It took me several BBs and lots of PF. What a relief!

 

I've finished. The best skips I managed were two Sparky dogs. I have one more round of breeding going to get a few more dogs for the permanent quests and some for other animals. Good luck and good skips to all!

 

Yippy all done and dusted i guess my strategy of no strategy worked this time gotta love DDB though! ...... Now off to look at my prospective 1st car ..... (so excited)

 

Finished on both my farms...a mixture of luck, PF, and scouring the markets for huskies. Now I'm off to orchestrate a romantic interlude for some cuckoos, in hopes of finishing a quest!

On my Earlier Posting I Mention that i am going to try a New Method to Complete The Soundogs Event by Not using any Power Feeds or Dogs. Simply Buy any Breeding Dogs in my Markets as I made about 10 Million CC Selling Dogs Plus Made 1 Million CC selling Pugsly Dog using 45 Stars. As I am still Growing Dogs as I got 121 Yellow Dogs Pens and 7 Orange Dog Pens in my Fields

I have Managed to Complete The Soundogs Event it by Snapping up 25 Dalmations, 21 Elkhound Mixes,7 Huskies and 3 Spuds Mckinkey From my Market as it only cost me 1.5 Million CC but i did get back 75 Dogs which I sold back to the Market making me 344250 CC plus get back 137,000 CC completing this Event

Ouch to Some of you that it had cost you 200 to 400 Power Feeds Completing This Event....It is not good News that hardly any of you had Good or Super Skips From Breeding Dogs....on the Last Breeding Event I did not get Great Super Skips as Much as I would have liked....That is the Reason I am doing it different this time just to test it out as i am please with The outcome....But I forgot to Mention that i have 60 Extra Power Feeds in my Barn given to me by The Soundogs Quest

I will still be keeping an Eye on Dog Breeding Market looking for Bargains or good value breeding animals which i intend to do some Breeding to Nudging away to complete Breeding Quests !!!

I been looking at Making Fire Hydrant Production Pens it does need 350 Woods,400 Nails, 10 Hand Woven Baskets and 10 Saws as this means it is the most expensive Production Pen to Make in Terms of Tools Requirements as 350 Woods and 400 Nails is going to be tough as Crop Refinements does not have much of impact on these two Tools Even using Tools Drops Boosting Strategy so have to rely on gettiing as Many Toolboxes as we can Toolbox,XL Toolbox and XXL Toolbox.....On The Bright Side no new Tools are required to Make Fire Hydrants for Me it helps to Make use of Hand Woven Baskets collecting Dust in my Barn lol

I only started this morning, with the usual screw ups - my breeding CR wasn't ready on this farm and forgot the Pink Jelly on Chevrefeuille. So far Illy is in the lead on skips. I have only bred Dogs and I have had 10 Elkhounds, 1 Spuds, 1 Pugs (wahoo!) and 1 Sparky (WAHOO!).

Chevrefeuille has 10 Elkhounds, 1 Husky and 2 Spuds. We're still plodding on ...

 

With over 100 hours left in the event I have not even thought about working it as it can be done in less than an hour. This farm's strategy at this time remains:

• Dump 10's of thousands of dogs (Will continue selling in the rat race in lots under 100 until prices drop sufficiently for my breeder customers to begin long term breeding.)
• Keep 128 regular pens out and mill producing all the feed necessary but no other
• Continue selling dog feed crop components (soybean and potato) as long as profitable
• Baby Boom brings with it far more than dog breeding. Although profits are being taken dumping dogs again, there is more to be gained in producing and selling another animal (explained below).
• As many are purchasing overpriced items to restock their barns, this farm will sell to them but stay clear of price gouging.

The mud_pie_man farm's strategy:

• Only 30 dog pens will remain out during the event.
• The balance of the land is being used to continue goose production. I have found there is more producing and selling geese than producing and selling dogs (BB is a plus) as all feed is milled.
• The farm will not do any of the event.

There is no where for dog prices to go but down as many are rapidly completing the event and breeders know too well better than to pay these prices for a now commonly produced animal.

There is a not so obvious danger in the selling of dogs if one has invested and not protected themselves. The danger is that dogs have an EV 450. One invested paying closer to the EV than one is able to replace that EV today. If ever a broad animal call it will be felt as the short-lived profits disappear. The best advanced play would have been to begin to collect cats having the same EV even though paying slightly more. On some markets, the cat buy is impossible now and holding onto profits made.

Congratulations to all meeting their goals. Time to sell in 1000 unit lots and get out.

 

I just completed event. I actually had some good skips this time Congrats to all who finished and good skips to the rest (if that is what you want) PNP, I hear you about the toddler thing. I went through the same thing most of the summer with my 3 yr old grand daughter. But the funny and innocent things they say or do more than makes up for not being able to farm like we would like too!!!

 

Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! Illy just got a Sheila Inu! I got really excited cos of its colour - thought I had hit the jackpot but I am still very happy with that skip! Huskies are a little scarce on this farm - none so far. Oh well, I will keep going with regular Dogs till the PF gets low then switch to Dalmations or Elkhounds.

Chevrefeuille is getting low on PF so switched to Dalmations and now I only need one Husky and one Spuds - but I forgot I needed 25 Dalmations too! Not to worry, I will use up some stars and cash them in for the PF runes that I have left for just such an occasion!

Put almost 100 breeding pens in my fields and got the quest requirements. No smarts needed, just dumb luck gave me the right dogs.

Selling extras now, made 7 million so far.

I did just enough breeding yesterday to finish the event. My hands were not up to all the clicking.
I did get a few good skips the best being a Sheila Inu and a Sparky I'm going to try my luck again today.
Sorry for those that are struggling and Congrats to those that are finished.

 

Have just put 16 dalmation into the hotels and have got in return ....4 elks 10 dogs and 3 dalmations ....Only need 1 Spuds McKinley now would buy one ...but not one for sale

Have at last finished this event ....AND in all of this event.. I have ONLY had two skips ...they were from getting the other 2 Spuds McKinsleys AND one of those wasn't from BB
