This event has been okay for me as I have work most days of the event but I think it was just a tad too easy and has not given the seasoned farmers the buzz they expected. If not competing in the major harvest hoedown, we can finish the event so easily, it is almost like not actually doing an event, just doing normal farming. :sleepy:

I decided to try two strategies - this farm finished the basic event in just over 24 hours (using four fields). My second farm is using two fields and will finish tomorrow - the event finishes on 20 November! o_O

What I find amazing is that the drops have been fantastic - and I have not used any of them! :wuerg:

The rewards are good, nice supply of PF which is always welcome. :)
Love the mushrooms and graphics. :D

Like the event but, as said, not a challenge for experienced farmers. Great for newer farmers though as they should be able to finish the basic event. ;)

    boring! -.-

The whole extra room seems a lot of wasted effort by the devs, for 99% of players who won't use it

I forgot to say that the prizes for the Top 1000 are okay but nothing that makes me want to go for it. In previous years I have really wanted to give it a try but this time I don't feel that way. What would be great is something that only those players can get or that everybody else wants: a BB tree or a Magic Tree come to mind. I remember there was a Golden Hazelnut EP item (I think) one year and lots of people wanted that! The prizes don't really warrant the amount of produce needed to compete. :wuerg:

BP should be more generous for this year top1000, present prize is nothing
compare with last year, last year given 20GB this year only 3GB !)
Look at those burning bar heroes. even tank 1000 is 38Millions value of stuff.
I think the prize should not be some wonder trees & stables which let winners
still need to gamble if they will got something good. (what they think if they
got some XL trees or yellow workshop !!!)
Infact, BP should give out specific rare stable/tree (of course it should be the
    newest one)
I think it will at least attract more farmers to participate in this event.

:)The basic event was not difficult and offered good prizes; most farmers should be able to complete it without stress.

:(However, the second part was simply uninteresting to most farmers - which resulted in no reason to work for drops or mill product. I just used up the few leftover crops to mill special ingredient/growgain to exchange for cc/ep. Basically, wasted drops!

How about a three level harvest event? I would guess many players not interested or able to compete in a Top 1000 barn burner event would go for a challenging mid-level contest with a donation cap. It could be structured with a basic event all must complete; then a choice of path - go for Top 1000 with truly superior prizes or go for an award called Master Farmer (or some such name) with prizes similar to those offered for the current top 1000 event.

I like that idea Willow! I would further suggest that the "Master Farmer" not have any baskets available for that path and possibly that it be a Timed contest. It shouldn't be something you can "buy" your way through.

this event is over, after you fill your cloud row there is no reason to go any further, 45.5 mill to hit 1000. where is that coming from??
if there spending real cash, what and where is the reward???

I could come up with 250 million but I wouldn't have an apple left to feed my Parrot.

Got the Cloud Row, and other treats. Done. Easy.
Last time I looked at the top 1000 the leader had donated 3+ billion? Wow. I Mean...Wow.
I'm content with what I got.

This is the most poorly designed event I have ever seen in Farmerama. The top 1000 is basically unattainable considering there are over 50 MILLION players! That works out to 0.002% of players. Everyone else gets nothing out of the Mushroom Stew. All of these events where only the top few get the prize are simply insulting.

i dont understand why anyone would empty all or most of their inventory just to be in the top 1000 for the little prizes or spend real money . what are they actually gaining .pens n trees of something they already have or had ? and to see the top players in this are only rank 1,2,3,4 have donated billions they have to be spending cash n lots of it .~edit~i wrote a lot more here but i see its been edited again !!! .i guess they dont allow freedom of speach or press in germany

I could see myself emptying out my inventory and possibly putting money into the game for a chance to be in the top 1000 if there were prizes or even a super-duper prize to go for, not what prizes are offered. If there were a chance to win a super-duper special giver that for instance gave a one hour harvester coupon daily then yeah...I would consider taking part of the Top 1000.
It would be even nicer if it weren't the top 1000 but rather have something like 1000 available once per day, each day for a 7 day period. 14:00 CET time, 1000 shiny spacecraft looking harvesters will be left by the nubions, and the rare opportunity to empty your inventory plus some to grab one of the super giver items. Of course one total award per player- giving 7,000 people the chance to go for it!

FOCD cured with the Top 1000... Not a well thought out event at all. Basic way too easy and the Top 1000, unrealistic... Happy to ignore!

I was happy to have an extremely easy mini event with some good prizes and the mushrooms were really cute. No interest at all in the Top 1000 but I'm not sure I would have had even if the prizes were better. I will say that this event does not seem as well structured as the previous top 1000 cat event. I have no idea why there is a drop item at all. I guess I'll just look at as additional ep/cc once the event is over.

I think the colorful mushrooms should be added permanently. I do love the colors also and they are just fun to grow.

I like the event. The animals & story line are cute. The mushroom crops are very pretty. Yes, can we keep them in the game? The prizes in my opinion were really good for the amount of time you need to spend on the event. I also liked the design of the ep/bep items. I have heard & read there really isn't much of a challenge for higher level players & I agree but it was also good to be able to complete a whole event while not staying glued to the computer.

personally, I like having an easier harvest event. With not needing to donate tools or like last year breeding animals. (What almost killed me).
The graphics are cute. It's just strange that only one stew at a time is growing after the first part.

Perhaps the designers can make it a multiple stages event next time, the Harvest Hoedown, including the top 1000... Or perhaps 3 top 1000's. (for up to a certain level)
So, that level 2 players can start too... level 50 players are on medium difficulty, and the higher levels will find it difficult... something like that?!

And I still LOVE the Event Crops Design. I want more crops like that. :inlove: (either re-designed old ones, or maybe nice short growing new ones. And with short I MEAN short. 2 minutes, 4 minutes, 6 minutes, 8 minutes. We have many many long crops, but some beautiful quick ones we still lack.

I do agree with TCRooster and I'm kind of disappointed with most comments saying that this event was too easy, but for lower level players this was perfect.

I also agree with farmingfreebird maybe some future events could be designed by the level of the players

BP is trying to please everyone and hasn't quite found the happy medium yet....keep taking players comments on board and keep trying.

Overall I enjoyed this venture and finished within 3-4 days, loved the graphics and the prizes...:inlove:

My first Harvest event was in 2011. After giving up 7.5 million in inventory I could not complete the last step of the regular quest. My barn had been burnt to the ground but I didn't care because I had received 4 new recipes: Carrot Bread, Pumpkin Jam, Carrot Apple Chutney and the Zucchini Apple Bread! I knew going into it I would not finish, I was a newbie and I hadn't finished anything before it so why would I be able to compete in the Top 1,000 farmers event! This event has always been geared toward the more experienced farmers. It is a chance to show off all your hard work through out the year and gain exclusive prizes that all the other farmers will envy from afar for years to come. I finished the regular quest in a ridiculous amount of time and sat around twiddling my thumbs for the remaining 4 days. What was the point of the drop and milling product? I am sure that a high percentage of us didn't even use this and I can't really even imagine how it helped those who are actually competing for the top 1000 because they already had most of their inventory ready to go.
I love this bittersweet event! It hurts to give up so much but it is worth it if you can score prizes like the Chestnut Cloud row and new recipes. It is a shame it has to be dumbed down. I am very disappointed.
