Tractor Racing Strategy Thread

I had stated clearly (maybe) at beginning of my post there is two alternative for
this event,FarmerMolly22, you could don't grow any event crop if you think you
could got over 200 drops /day since you need 1216 Turboline to finished whole
event (race 1 to 5) But if you cannot sure if you could got this amount. My advice
is mill the fuel so that you need lessen turboline (1021 as Decree data or 1023 as
my method)
My advise is : if grow event crop is not a trouble/ affect your RL,also you could
spare 1 or 2 field for event planting which still not affect your drops.(the EP given is not bad for 6 hr crop, you should try to grow some event crop, & then mill some premium Fuel on hand. Since It value 6 race step. you could easy used it on any races.
Overall, I think we need to see when event start & farmers harvest their well plan fields,
what the drops come out to determine if event plant is necessary.

Bear in mind, if you find that drops is really good. You could easy change your plan to
grow less event crop.

I will be continuing with my current projects too: trees mainly for this farm, animals for Chevrefeuille. It will be interesting to see how the drops fall. My only concern is, especially with the trees (and work), will I get enough drops in one main harvest per day? That's why I think this event is going to be exciting and a bit more challenging than the norm!

Edit: Yes, Dnin, I agree. Sorry, we were typing at the same time. I think this event gives us the chance to do a U-turn if we find we need to!

I like this event is that you could change your strategy at any time.

I like the flexibility of this event. With family coming tomorrow and Thursday for Thanksgiving, I am glad I don't have to worry about frequent harvests of the event crop. I will continue with normal farming and make any adjustments on Friday. I agree that it would be great if we can get enough drops and retain our efforts (fruit, crops, animals...) rather than event crops that will disappear. I also don't want to interrupt my mill (either of them) as they are really busy. We shall soon see how the drop rate will be....

 

Yes, PnP, I have just opened up Camel and it takes so long to mill Camel feed! I kept changing the amount but I still had to buy some! I have a new strategy system - I fill up fields with my current project animal!

Thanks for the math! I like the do all 1st and if not needed safe, much better than falling short.
I have to keep reading things till they sink into my gray matter so all explained o u t ways hungrily taken.
But yes, the leave the farm as it was then clear if you want for more candy IE growing the event crop, is so nice I like this a lot.
I will be collecting my animals then planting the event plants, I like!!

And GuineaUp, this is my brain clear, scared yet? I would hate to see it on eggnog train of thoughts never stops at my town

 

LOL Mingling! I have some pyjamas with Eyore on them with the words "Sometimes I stop to think and forget to start again!"

 

Logging in and harvesting trees and long term crops netted me 129 Turbolines. At this moment I think I will not be growing "Junks" at that rate of drops. I may however breakdown and use Illy's suggestion and have a drop back position.

 

If anyone is going to mill any fuel at all, my advice would be to exclusively mill the premium one. The requirements are slightly less than two-fold those of the normal one but with double the effect.

 

Drop rates seem the usual for an event, no scare coming from it. I had my farm all covered with trees and didn't want to take any of them. I have auto-tree harvester so it has been 24 hours or so since my last logout and I decided not to login until the event begins. So far, 155 drops but I'm waiting for another round in an hour or so. I think I made a good decision.
However, I don't think I can leave the trees for the rest of the event, so I might as well replace them with crops.
Hoping that I don't have to grow "junk"...

What do you think is the best order to do races 2, 3, 4 in? Maybe it doesn't matter. I'm trying to take it easy for this event so I'm not sure that I'll finish all of it!

djh, you can take a look at the different prizes for the races and decide the order based on which prizes you want most

If you think you'll finish the event, it doesn't really matter. But you can always take a look at the prizes and see which ones you like most

I will try but just in case I fail to gather 1200+ drop items I need to be selective.
My initial harvest was 204 but that was a result of planting my longest on comfort field. This process took around 2days for the crops to be matured.

 

I got 114 turbo tanks from today's harvest, but that was without making any changes to my farm in preparation.

Removed most of my lower level pens (bear, squirrel, etc.) and replaced them with red donkeys, chameleons and bat roosts (they are coming in handy now!). I even had a pink donkey in storage! Replaced my parrots with pandas and chopstick factories.

I think I will be fine, but will reassess later.

 

I got 110, not a very good figure, So I will stick with my strategy to mill stuff.

 

Did well with initial drops on island ginger, carnations, trees and a field of pens: 155

While flower/event plant CR is running I'm doing hibiscus, roses and one field of nuked event plants. Then will switch back to island ginger and carnations, with a few special pens and trees.

I will do a little milling now to get a boost, as I will be very busy with guests over the holiday and don't want farming in the back of my mind!
