broke, I surly didn't expect this announcement. You earlier said something about winding up mud_pie_man. But I though you will continue with farmer_broke. I hope its the forum from which you are retiring, not the game. I know its very demanding & tedious to be very active in the forum. So is the game. Particularly, if you have busy real life or need rest. Hope someday, when your real life permits, you will come to forum once again. I learnt a lot from you. Several strategies in marketing & in playing the events. Take care. Wish you all good things in life.

I just hope you can continue to enjoy the game and maybe, just maybe, pop your head over the fence from time to time to let us know you are okay. Gonna miss ya!

Thank you everyone for all of the kind words and the many meaningful igms. I cannot ignore them and I do feel free to participate actively in this forum again. I have come to realize that there is a much bigger issue of concern here. Please ignore my own issue yet simply keep in mind for a moment that I am one who did not appreciate how I was treated. The whole issue for myself and many others before me can be easily solved right here in this forum with no need for support. Solution: We ALL should be careful how we treat one another.

yeah yeah yeah ...... why? I view this forum as a helping and enjoyable community made up of many people of different ages and backgrounds. The following is a true example of the effect:

The mud_pie_man farm was sent a neighbor request. Several igms were also received asking game questions. No, I did not accept the neighbor request and the reason was that I was angry regarding treatment and did not want to be bothered with it. At that time I did not even answer the igms. By the nature of the questions and level I knew this individual was a new player. I viewed the mud_pie_man farm a day later and politely answered the questions. The individual sent another neighbor request. I accepted and sent an igm and gifted. The individual's green light is now decreasing. I try and remember to gift the new player everyday. The player has not signed back on or written again to this day.

Certainly all of the questions could have been answered and more by recommending the individual come to the forum. Would you have sent that individual here in order to be mistreated by any of us? I did not.

Who looses? The player may leave the game anyway but I certainly did not encourage the individual to continue playing by my lack of attention. BP may loose and that was of no concern to me at the time nor my intention for them to do so. How would BP loose? This individual may have made purchases through the bank which would add to the bottom line ($$$$$$$$).

There are rules here and they are necessary for many reasons and they should be followed by all of us. Sometimes there exists a very fine line between happiness and unhappiness though. That one unkind word or inappropriate action may well lead to unhappiness with far reaching effects. None of us should walk on eggshells either. The effects may not be so easily reversed if they can be reversed at all. We will disagree and often times that disagreeing has turned very productive.

There are a few changes which may be clearly seen here.

I know that I have missed you all. Please enjoy the holiday season! Thank you again.

Hi farmer_broke. You will be back again in the Forum ? That's great. :D

Have understood some of which you have said. But not all as I do not know the issue or its background, I cannot comprehend completely.
May be a re-reading might help me. What ever it is its good to see you back again.:)

broke - I am thrilled to see you posting!!!:D As Cassie said and more....this had made my day, week & month!!!!;)
As far as this neighbor request to mpm, your name was at the top of the EN Top 1000...so you were the big man on campus, so to speak.
This newbie probably saw it as an opportunity to get help from our resident pro or top player. They obviously did not know that you were upset or having an issue....and thus were not in a good frame to accept a new neighbor or answer lots of newbie questions. Please don't fret over this. There are other avenues they could have used to get answers...a mentor, other neighbors, this forum & our mods.
It is not your fault that this player has stopped playing. There could be many reasons why.....and probably none of them have to do with you.
I get new chicks as a mentor all the time...that play for a few days, a week, a month....and then all of the sudden stop playing. I've given up trying to guess why. I figure it's their loss. First, they lose out on a terrifically fun game, great friends and a wonderful forum!
Maybe they realize they don't have the time..or they want a faster paced game.
You worrying about this, just shows what a caring, thoughtful guy you are. :inlove:

Thank you again every single person.

I have found your post and will reply directly in the appropriate thread. Our concern with the chickadee also concerns BP and they know it or they would not have invested in the program. The chickadee represents a part of the future game playing audience and is a potential source of revenue.

As Mentor Brookeham has clearly indicated: "There are other avenues they could have used to get answers...a mentor, other neighbors, this forum & our mods." I must add that if any one source treats that chickadee poorly then the likelihood of that chickadee going to the next will naturally decrease.

We all cannot take responsibility for others leaving the game. We can control only our own behavior.

True example: Our moderator teddy.bear treated me in chat in a way that the mud_pie_man farm started. (I did not care about that farm as it was only begun to bother teddy.bear a little and hopefully bring a strange look because teddy runs off with cakes and likes chocolate.) The mentor system was just signed up for no real reason ... but okay ... let's do it.

Brookeham (assigned as mentor) wrote several times and I just ignored and oneeeeeeeeeeeeee day: What is this mentor talking about? She never HAD to do anything but she did and I found the communication quite genuine and friendly. She was so very nice that we began to communicate and I never wanted to leave the nest. I got kicked out for too much ep reaching level 40. The farm finished 14th in the TOP 1000.
    • The farm name (teddy.bear) -- The result of friendliness and kindness
    • The farm continuance (Mentor Brookeham) -- the result of friendliness and kindness
    • The gifts sent long ago -- again friendliness and kindness
    • The Wilsons sent during competition -- again friendliness and kindness
That farm was once a chickadee and always a member of this group of individuals. If we, individually or collectively or on purpose or accidentally, treat another player poorly then positive results are unlikely to occur.
This forum goes through cycles from constructive to very destructive. The effects of destructive actions do last a very long time. I find the destructive actions by both players and mods to be quite unnecessary. Sure the hominess can be felt as people feel free to post while maintaining a respect for those entrusted with maintaining some sense of order and kindness to one another.

hmmmmm The En Forum .... a "homey" place .... I kinda like that ..... The homey place.
