Chat closing

I read yesterday in the forum that the chat wil be closed. I thought only the English chat was going down but I then went to the Italian forum and found out that even this one will be closed so maybe it's international.
I started playing in the english version so I could go to chat and practice some of my english with some farmers and I can say I had some great fun there.I went to the chat every day and asked some of my neighbours to join and at the begining we were a few and then slowly people didn't come there anymore. I will miss the little cloud to click and check if anyone was there but
we can't do much if they decide to shut it down.
I read in the forum posts from my chat friends but it's not the same as being in chat all together at once.
Just wanted to thank Teddy Bear my first chat Mod. Intrepideur that took the spot after Teddy got promoted and all the farmers that visited chat.
Living in Italy I stayed up very late to chat with the US farmers and some from Australia and I
had a great time with them.
I hope in the future chat will be part of the game again.

Thank you for starting this thread Tommone. I too will be sad that Chat is closing. I am one of those who gradually stopped going in - I didn't have much time due to work commitments and then when I did have a moment, there was rarely anyone in there. I probably didn't go in often enough to be called a true "regular" but I met some really nice people while chatting (yourself included, Tommone). I went in yesterday by chance and found it empty. Then I came to the Forum and read about the closure. Very sad.

I join you in thanking Teddy and all the Mods who kept order in the Chat Rooms (not always an easy task!). I especially remember the wonderful zany virtual trips and parties, the competitions were a real blast!

Thank you and, like Tommone, I do hope Chat is not gone for ever.

I haven't played all that long but when I first started, I would check the chat multiple times in a day & never found anyone there. Kind of disheartening as it would have been a great way to make friends & where I could practice my German & Spanish .... even if only at a child like level. This game is billed as "social" and it kind of is but Chat would have made it better than having to just communicate in the Forums. Oh well .... "easy come, easy go".

 

No chat? wow, I like games with a chat feature to them.

 

I use to use Chat as it great to talk to fellow farmers did had good times....at the Start you often see farmers online in chat....but i have stopped using chat for about a year now as hardly anyone is online....The Main Reason most of us not got the time to chat due to busy life or got many farms to manage etc

Chat was lots of Work for The Mods...but not got so many Mods like we use to have....also we get lots of Newbies in Chat not aware of Chat Rules, plus getting loads of spamming which was very annoying and off putting. It was very hard work to help newbies etc we had good times in chat while it lasted but in the End it is not worth the negative vibes from Chat which was happening far too often i do not blame Bigpoint Closing Chat due to lack of respect from certain farmers....

But we can IGM to other farmers instead before Chat was started up....I am not sad to see it go since some farmers snob me while using chat also under old forum certain farmers was nasty to me....this is something i can do without

There are some Fantasic Lovely Farmers out there just not got the time for chat anymore for feel the same as i do about Chat !!!

 

I really enjoyed chat for a while there, met some awesome farmers and got to laugh at myself quite often. The Chat mods were great, even going out of their way to get people in the chat room for the few chat events we had. RL took over to a large degree for me, and chat didn't work so well for awhile (there were months on end that i couldn't get in chat no matter what I did. not sure if that was sorted out or not) I think I have been back to chat maybe 3 times in the last year. still sad to see it go... Thank you to the farmers, and mods who did make it a fun place to go.

 

To be honest I never used it.

 

I have logged into chat for the past year+ and nobody was there. When I started playing that was my first port of call for finding friends, mentors and mods(Teddy & Intrepideur) helping with my questions. And we also had some fun competitions in chat, and at this point I would like to remember chats with Tiki (hope I am not offending anyone). Sorry to see chat go

I, too, am sorry that chat is closing. For a period of time, friends and neighbors would meet there for fellowship and fun. I met some dear friends who became neighbors too. It is a time that I remember fondly. I also experienced a decline in attendance to chat as people were busy with real life and when I would log in, there would be no one there. After a time, I guess it became habit to not even try.

I had so much fun that summer with parties, sing-a-longs, and the competitions with both fellow players and mods too(mostly teddy but others dropped in as well).

I also remember Tiki with great fondness and sadness.

It would be great if we could all gather again one more time for a final chat party. I know the holidays are busy for everyone but it would be nice for a farewell. Anyone interested?

I too remember some farmers who are no longer playing and, in particular, I remember Tikiblu. Whenever I search through my list of neighbours/buddies, her name jumps out at me. Always feel sad and have such fond memories at the same time.

I am up for a last Chat Party ... work permitting. A final conga round the chocolate fountain!

someone say when and I will certainly make an effort to come! my work schedule is hectic this month but hopefully I could come in for a little while anyhow!

 

Have any of you tried to access chat recently? When I've tried all I get is an Error #2032.
The OA said they planned to close by the end of the month, but would announce an end date.

EDIT: Not to spoil your party but the party room may not be available. Maybe it's closed already? Or is this more of their technical issues?

 

I just stopped by chat and though there is a Going Out of Business sign, the door was wide open, but, alas, I was the only visitor.

We all have different schedules (time zones, work, school, sleep (who does that?), family...and so I don't know if I can pick a party time that will suit everyone but will offer this....for anyone wishing to PARTY in chat, go ahead and go and hopefully you will bump into someone also there. We can sing carols, decorate the tree, make hot chocolate....Send me a chat invite or IGM.

 

I would love to have another last party with all of you. I have really enjoyed all the parties I have come.
Later today I will log in and I hope I will find some of you. I think we should make clear from which flag we should log in, Great Britain's right?

Where did you find out that Chat will be closed?

 

I tried chat when I first started playing a few months ago, and there were people there. Then, every time after that, when I went in to chat there were no people. I find it odd that it changed so fast.

 

Got the chocolate fountain bubbling in the Chat Room if anyone fancies a dip!

How do you change the in game "flag"? I have some treats I'd love to dip in illy's chocolate fountain. There enough to share if I can find the party room!
