Oh Hector & Katya look grand and happy at their xmas temporary home. ;)Think of all the social skills your little Hector is learning.:music:
    Thanks for the pics....they look like very nice people...and a vet...what better a babysitter?:pxD

The vet bit was the selling point... I said I would never leave my reindeer anywhere without me... but wife is a vet, husband is a livestock farmer and my reindeer vet is a close family friend AND lives on next door farm!!! My contract says I can withdraw at any time if I have welfare issue... None of those BUT I can't withdraw if I am missing them!!! :(

"BUT I won't stop worrying until they are home..."

I suspect you don't stop worrying even when they are home. :) It sounds like they are in good hands, with lots of love and attention. (You do have a tasteful sign up that says they are on loan from your farm, don't you? Great advertising!)

No sign, I missed a trick there!!! :( No sign as to who looks after them 365!!!!
All the advertising is there's, I am out and about with my other babies suggesting they visit Katya and Hector elsewhere..Hmmn kicking myself, especially as I hear stories of other neglected reindeer on display... I really should have insisted on a sign saying they were mine... but didn't think till you just mentioned Cassi!!!

It's never too late to put up a sign on their pen saying "On loan compliments of xxx Farm" (I forget the name of your farm, sorry.) Your facebook info could be right below. Just in case anyone wants to see more pictures! :)

Great pics BoHoKaren :inlove: Hector is so curious about everything.
Have to tell you a little story. At our Thanksgiving one of the older great Uncles was telling all the young children how they should be good because Santa was coming soon. He said "He will be getting all the reindeer 'Boys' ready to pull his sleigh" My grandson spoke up and said "Uh Uh, That's not right. All Santa's reindeer are Girls". When asked how he knew that he told them because my Nana knows someone who has some of Santa's reindeer and she told her and I've seen pictures of them. xDxDxD

I just hope Hector doesn't draw his head back so quickly that he snaps his spikes off.

We have a stressy few days coming up.
Friday school, looking forward to even though there are literally hundreds of children... my voice will suffer. Saturday we have a big Street Fayre - Ferris wheels, chaos etc. and a parade - the reindeer take it in their stride but I worry.
And Sunday a Victorian Market that haven't paid and expect us to park 20 minutes away in a car park we can't turn around in!!... we have 7 shuttles backwards and forwards with panels, feed, water and reindeer - just not possible!!! Unless they sort we can't turn up but does our T&C cover... not sure,,, :(

I'd tell the Victorian Market that their setup is just not feasible for live animals this year but you would consider coming in the future if they were willing to make better arrangements. It's just not worth your effort and most likely you would never get paid. You will be busy enough with the Friday/Saturday schedule. I know what it is like to handle a couple of horses at a show and also set up everything. You can't do your best for your babies if you are exhausted.

A picture of Katya. Not my picture I hasten to add... Would love to know how it is done. Mostly B/W but her Christmas ornaments in colour... Any clues photographers out there?

Stress levels reducing slightly (for Sunday). I have spoken to a wonderful chap on the relevant Council and he totally understood the reasons for requiring parking close to exhibition site not having to search for "somewhere" in a busy City with a large transport vehicle and precious animals on board, on a busy day close to Christmas etc etc..., and he has organised it... he's a star - when I finally meet him he may even get a hug! ;)
