I have joined the ranks of those that have completed the event! :D I did purchase some mittens as I didn't think I would get enough with my trophies not maxed out. From what I'm seeing this morning, it looks like I didn't need to do that but I hate leaving it all to the last minute as you never know what RL will throw at you. :wuerg:

Arq and FB: I always harvest my Park first - it is where my Owl Tree and Crow Tree pets live so that is always my first stop (unless I forget of course!). Chevrefeuille has only got the Crow Pet and it took me a while to remember to harvest it first manually before I touched anything else. :inlove:

I am not aware that my drops are any better but then I have nothing to compare - that is, I have harvested the Park first for so long, can't remember if there was any significant change when I started harvesting the Park first. :music:

I'm sure this helps the Professors of algorithm! xD

I thought I would be done after this mornings harvest but I somehow managed to screw up the math (shocker!) on the ice flowers and found I was 48 short. So another 3 hours and I will join the ranks of the finished. :D

    illy, you're too funny!!!

FB, I get my most drops on the Green Meadow, usually 5-10 drops more than the main field, sometime more, but always more. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Doubt it helps, but you never know. :p ;)

Thank you for the information and sure it helps. First, this farm has nothing it the park that would influence drops. Second, I would most likely not go there regularly. That being the case for me, I go to the park after harvesting the fields if I go there one time in a week. xD I will just continue to rule it out right now but if there is further progress then we'll just refine our results. So not out of mind! Don't bring out the Illy Pom Pom Deco item just yet. xD A while off still.

    Arq,
The mud_pie_man farm is a baby farm but operates a lot more sensibly than this farm. I used the mud_pie_man farm to look for something else. Crops are one thing, field difference may be another, and animal drop rates may be another. I took the farm and put all 20 hr trees in the outlying areas and animal pens elsewhere. There was a slight different in the number of total hours to harvest each field but not significantly much even though the Glade can hold only 40 pens. So, generally speaking, all fields had the same total hous until completion.

The farm never gets harvested on time so when I went there to harvest, everything was ready to harvest in all the fields. So total hours about the same and all ready to harvest. Yes, some pens sat idle for longer periods of time but the total hours per field was nearly the same.

Guess what the event drops were.

    29 main field
    29 meadow
    30 glade

I'll harvest it again just before the event ends ...... I hope and go from there next event. Results indicate no field difference for animals. This now makes me wonder if there is a difference for vegetables, grains and other crops. Still more questions than aanswers so I'll leave it alone for now.

This event is almost over, the broke farm needs very little and it will not provide anything useful. Oh well, next event.

    ---edit----

    @baw815

Yes the information helps. What you have stated has been found and the answers are not conclusive. Ok, you received more drops in the meadow. Were you harvesting event crops or some type of other crop (Arq and I just so happened to be harvesting raspberry.)

Here is something for you if it will help:

The broke farm was just harvesting the event crops. The drops in the meadow were nearly twice that of the other two fields. Same field as you! (Sorry, junks growing was just not organized enough to give you specific results.)

Even if we get a rate, the developers have game and event player behavior data to work with. They have the ability to tinker with rates, to some degree. With that kind of data, they have the ability to run simulations very quickly. Even WHEN a rate is finally discovered by players, we will only move to the area of attempting to second guess them ...... they know it too!

I'm just curious: What about trees? A field full of maple trees don't give the same amount of drops as Walnuts. Or does it?

FB, BTW, that is true for every crop, including event crops and starter to the event crops. I do have trees on the periphery, date palm to maple sap, all XXL.

EDIT: Arq, I notice, since I have all XXL trees of the basic ones, apple through maple sap, that I get more drops from the higher level trees than the trees on my main field which are apple through yellow pear. I have premium, so sometimes it is ready to harvest and the crop isn't ready so I visit the field and that is how I noticed.

    Arq and Baw,

Now you're looking at trees and different types and sizes. You said it Arq: "tree algorithm." So far I can only say tht there my be a separate one and there may not be. The only thing I am sure of is that players do get event drops from them. We have all kinds of planting variables we are mixing now yet they all do relate to the drops. I have focused on the event crop with this and tried to stay clear of trees and animal pen variables here for now only because I can't get a handle on it.

But I just got a rate that is encouraging. The addition of any drop booster is something else I am leaving alone for the moment only because I do not have a rate I could begin to vary based on a specific drop booster. Hope this makes sense. I'm trying to work this out with only what I may regard as constant.

I have all the event crops now but I need a hand full of drops. With 17 hours left, and I am absolutely certain I can play using the rate I have determined. But not to play around just yet, I'll do the unthinkable to try and determine if this is the rate. I'll post again in a few hours as I don't harvest junks too efficiently.

And please admit me to the proper facility for junks treatment when I'm done ...... this will be over 16 gazillion junks.

Farmwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife :inlove: ......I bumped my head!

Count me in to the done and dusted, phew. It was a very long time ago since I've been this short on drops, but made it with 19 h to spare, so no real drama, but makes me feel for lower-lever players and their struggle.

I'm mainly a raspberry-farmer these days (due to excellent refinements) and the max I got from one field was 53 and minimal 37 Mittens. Trophies are at 27% I think, but I have the LL rune.

    Best of luck to all!

Phew, Time to calm down!, got back with a bit of event time left to spare. Still need 65 drops and 2241 pretty ice flowers to complete the whole event, choice items already obtained.

My strategy at this point is to wing it, :music:this particular event is not why I was eager to get back to the game. Just need to farm to relax myself, Now that loooong ride stuck in traffic, Ya know the one that takes you from home to where you will be spending the holidays... yep that one... picking up family, family whom although I :inlove: dearly.. can make one weary from all the "what I'm doing wrong" chit chat...Thankfully I have only experienced this recently, since my family is usually mellow, not demanding and a pleasure I really look forward to each year. Must be the lack of snow getting to them xD
so.... this event stressful, nope not at all :)
I am looking forward to the Christmas layer event, now that event will be stressful xD

Good Luck Farmers, hope you all get what your heart desires from this event.
    - Oh and well done !! to all the farmers whom have finished, WTG!

The rate determined put me in the -1 to +1 total prediction range which is where I hoped to be at this point! The rate determined was quite accurate given planting the event crop was done on all three fields. A definite conclusion is that a rate per field can vary and vary widely. (I was short very few drops before the final planting. But if the field specific rate previously determined had been used, and only a specific field where the rate would have given the total drops then I could have selected the wrong field. Worst than that, I would have to have planted more.)

My trophies are maxed out. More testing is needed for a conclusion. If indeed the prediction rate is accurate then all I am able to conclude is a very good estimate of the number of drops which came from merely growing the event crops.

I feel comfortable that the determination method allows for accurate predictive drop results for the event crop. The events in total number of event crops, even type of drop, and whether crops can be grown on BAHA and the rain forest.

Thanks all for the information. As the events get harder we will only get smarter in completing them AND keep time to spare.

Congratulations to all who met their objectives.

I was FINALLY able to get drops with friends & neighbors gifts and NO SOS thread for farm austgxD
Neighbor Kelt I finally did it!!!!! Growing last of "junks" and sacrificing a CAC - need 1842 more "junks"
For austg1 still need help on SOS thread need 23 more mittens (THANK YOU FRIENDS) and 1271 "junks" o_Owould not have made it on this farm without the SOS thread!:inlove::D:inlove:

FarmerBroke - note that for my farm moving trophies (no LL rune for austg1) seems to have recently had a mixed effect sometimes it decreases :wuerg: the drop rate and sometimes it increases:inlove:. No consistency in this and it will happen on all fields. This just started happening about a month or two ago with the decrease - my previous post on event threads notated this and on some event so drastic that without the trophy I could get 10 event drops from the event crop and with the trophies only 1-3 event drops this would be a full field of 1x1's with CAC and not the drop rate would be excellent lots of tools and such but the event drop would plummet. I would test at beginning of following events harvest full fields with trophys next round without and whichever was better on drops I would continue throughout event - I would not risk switching back.
Trophy levels for both farms have 10% on Animals and 13% on Crops.
Get about 25% more drops on austg with LL Rune in effect - can't wait to get it here 122 stars to go!
I am paying attention to growing same items on farm over and over from your previous post.
Hope this helps! Thank you for all your wisdom!
Good luck everyone and HAPPY HOLIDAYS:music:

Silly me... I thought 39 event drops from a field of carnations was a pretty good number. Once again illustrating that this game, like many aspects of Real Life, are a matter of perspective.

I finished this event on Day 5 which is typical for me. Putting this event on par with pretty much every event for the past 3+ years, for me. I finished the crops on Day 4 slowed down by RL. I finished the drops on Day 5. As usual I missed about 12h due to living on the wrong side of the planet and another 8+ hours due to RL. So that probably cost me... 200 drops. That I don't really need.

BTW: I noticed that the mittens have EV so anyone that hasn't maxed out their trophies might try donating their leftover event drops to the trophies.

    My farms finished with...
    Farm 1:
One Howie on each of 4 fields
    event drops -- 167 (minus 2 magic trees * 6 possible harvests) = 155
    Last day harvests:
    Morning harvest -- Main 47, Meadow 37, Glade 33
    Night harvest -- Main 32, Meadow 43, Glade 9
    Farm 2:
    zero Howies
    event drops -- 236 (minus 8 magic trees * 6 possible harvests) = 188
    Last day harvests:
    Morning harvest -- Main 37, Meadow 34, Glade 39
    Night harvest -- Main 25, Meadow 34, Glade 6
    Farm 3:
    zero Howies
    event drops -- 255 (minus 6 magic trees * 6 possible harvests) = 219
    Last day harvests:
    Morning harvest -- Main 39, Meadow 42, Glade 17
    Night harvest -- Main 33, Meadow 25, Glade 30
Things got out of sync on Farm3 Glade when I went to buy feed and forgot to go back and feed the workshops.

As mentioned before my farms are very, very similar but not identical. 30%LL rune. Today I had two harvests of carnations on Main and Meadow. Glade is still mostly workshops, "cash cows", about 8 pens and trees on the fringes. Main has about 16 trees, basic and XXL. Meadow is all small plots minus one pet. Glade is 26 trees, basic and XXL and cork, 26 workshops harvestable (is that a real word?) in less than 24h, 4 long pens and 9 pens harvestable in less than 12h. Sorry, once again, due to RL I forgot about gifts.

I must say... I'm thrilled I finally got the final flower for the CR on my third farm. Now all three farms have a complete "flower CR"! Ridiculously happy about that.
I have no clue what a Castle Birdstone is supposed to be... but my third farm already has two, the other two farms, zero. Need to get one scarecrow for the main farm then I'll that CR on all three farms complete.
Yes, I only expected each Howie to only work on it's own field. This is the first I've heard of putting more than one Howie on a field. That is an experiment I'm certainly in a position to try. RL is not very cooperative these days. I'm overextended in RL dealing with the aftermath of the fire. I thought once I turned the house over to the contractor that things would ease up for me but... Getting called to the house, 15 min before a harvest is ready, to discuss code issues, etc is proving me wrong. LOL But this too shall pass...

The MOD quote, forget who, said "5% better chance" of drops. Mir, your post that I quoted here and the MOD quote pointed out some faulty thinking I might have that is underlying some of my research and conclusions. I'm laughing at the image of 20 Howies on a field. I'm pretty sure they don't mean a 5% chance of drops but a "better" chance of drops. Don't they use the same wording regarding trophies? Are we getting 30% drops from our trophies? Add four Howies and I could get 50% drops! The big question better THAN WHAT?
If I get 100 drops a day without trophies, Howies, etc. Then I should be getting 130 with 30% LL rune? Add one Howie to the field and I should have 135%? Not sure the improvement was that dramatic with the higher trophies and subsequent LL rune. It was really noticeable tho. So at what point do they add the buffs and to what are they adding them?
