retro pet sale

Been thinking about buying one of the pets from the sale going on now. I would need to buy some barnyard bills in order to get one. I like the horse one but it's expensive. The deer is the cheapest and will give a star. Just not sure. Any opinions ?

 

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the upcoming retro pet sale. If you could only afford one pet, is there a particular one you would try to get?

Naturally, I'd like all of them but can probably only manage one.

 

This is strictly my take on these as only you can decide if they are worth spending RL money on.

I have all of them with the exception of the reindeer and since I'm at the stage where stars are not a pressing concern I'm not going to purchase it.

Out of the other 3 if I could only keep one of them I would choose the nightmare (unicorn) pet. If you set it up with 10 hour or less EP givers you can harvest it twice a day and get the most bang for your buck. It's good that even if you buy it you can also still win it from Renzo's assuming it stays on the prize list.

I do like the flying fish pet as well but it's not quite as practical as you can only harvest it once a week. The best part of harvesting it making sure you time it with other pets or at least a sweet rose jam to increase the EP/BEP. The party spin is almost a secondary item to me over the EP. Also it's really, really pretty.

The woodpecker can only be harvested once a day and to make it really worth while you need to have other pets to boost it's EP harvest value.

I was only interested in the Woodpecker pet this time around. I already have the Unicorn and the others are useless to me right now. Bought the Woodpecker and was very surprised that it was a 1x2 pet...not as useful any more. I wish I'd read the description a bit more carefully. Oh well he is a cutie and I'm happy to welcome him onto my farm

 

If you're into levelling up, the nightmare egg is your best bit as you can get 20% extra ep on everything for 20 mins (I think) twice a day. The fish is nice for a party ticket, the reindeer is cheapest and gives you a star, but that's only one a week.

I think the nightmare egg unicorn is going to be the winner.

 

Here's my take...

Of the 4 retro pets being sold, the Sailfin Egg is the best value. Its initial cost may be 299 BB's, however, the fact that it provides you with a Party Ticket each week is the key. Each party ticket has a value of 8 BB, that means after 37.375 weeks of collecting this pet it will have essentially paid for itself in BB alone. Everything after that is a bonus. But let's also say that 8 BB isn't really the true value because party tickets go on sale, etc. You're still going to gain more in the long run, and as an added bonus you'll have more chances at the cloud row EP givers which are turning out to be extremely valuable. Plus all the other great goodies (PF, +200% EP, Breeding Animals) that come from the party wheel.

The second best value really depends on where you're at in the game. If you're low level, then getting the Reindeer Egg is highly recommended. Those additional stars will add up. Unlocking Bahamarama Rainforest and Living Legend don't come cheep. But more importantly are some of the other runes, such as the breeding runes. If you're high level and have all the good runes unlocked already, then the Nightmare Egg is the best choice. This is going to allow you to get more out of your farm twice a day, allowing you to speeding up your leveling.

Last and...definitely last, is the woodpecker. It's completely overpriced for it's bonus and time frame.

 

keltic is the farm I do with real money so yep got em all I like to watch, them, the best was a g&t the santa and reindeer fly over the bay.

But due to game needs I got ming as my get on forum account and is workin on nothing. The farm can't even afford pumpkin jam the movies have not been working right for me and freeze up the whole game. So picking something I want is not the issue it's what I can get for the BB's I got.
It hurts, I would like to get the reindeer just for star power but I have to fall behind the others Nightmare would be my goal.
I am not math friendly to say the least, but I try to math the usage per day on anything I want, working that out always gives me more answers and aspirin usage.

 

I do not know what to advice you. I do not have any of these. The horse one, you can get it by playing Renzo fair which comes once a month. But it will take some time to earn it in the renzo fair. I think sailfin egg is best. But its costly. If you do not want to go for it, try woodpecker pet or the horse one. Deer is Ok. But 7 days for a star is too long.

 

Go for the unicorn. You can still earn another at Renzo's IF it stays on the prize rack. They may remove it at any time.

Hi, took a while for me to find this thread again! (and I started it) I thank you for all the great suggestions and information! After reading and weighing the options suggested, I will try for the nightmare or unicorn pet, (not horse) when the fair comes around, it will become a new goal.
