Finally got going - Board of Directors meeting day and work is crazy!

134 initial drops with refined carnations, so hoping for the best. Like many others, having people over for holidays; which means something other than farming will be going on! Best of luck to everyone for good drops and a happy finish to the event.:)

I am a new player, this is the first event since I started my farm. Just got to lvl 16 so the only part of this I can do right now is the penguin. Is it worth it to jump into the event or should I sit it out until I get more advanced???

Shiny.Sparkle, growing the event crops will probably give you more EP than anything else you can grow. Growing cardomom overnight is longer than any other crop you have access to so is the best use of your overnight time. Feeding the cookies to the penguins will get you lots of random prizes as well as the milestone prizes along the way. Any leftover event crops will be converted to EP and CCs after the event is over. So, yes, I think it is worth your time and effort. :)

    @Shiny.Sparkle

    Welcome! :)

I have begun a couple of new farms before. From that experience my strategy on any new farm is to stay clear of events in the beginning. Why? A new farm needs coins. Visit the market, go to products, and then to manure. Notice the price. One will not get that price outside of events. So the coins are there if I want them.

How fast can I get manure? I buy every chicken pen I can until my fields are full. I mill the feed with wheat. If I do not have it to keep my mill spinning I buy it. If I cannot mill the chicken feed fast enough then I will buy it. I take the manure to market as fast as I can. If I want coins I take every chicken too. Chickens are nice if you have time to harvest.

What else? While I cannot harvest I will put out rabbits. Same thing as above with the manure and rabbit sell at decent prices also.

I do not even think about ep until any farm is above level 40 because it comes anyway. Aside from chicken pens and rabbit pens I hold the coins until after events. Do it efficiently and by the end of the event I can easily have over one million coins and the animal pens will be paid for forever. Maybe you will spend the coins wisely and won't be broke like me and I can get a loan.

Good luck at whatever you decide, happy holidays, and please come back again. :) Let us know whatever you do. There is no wrong way, just enjoy.

So Far Managed to get 226 Mulling Spiced Bottles so pretty good start as we going to need 1200 of them, My Rain forest and Baha Island was full of Trees. The Mainland Fields has mixture of Trees, Reindeer Stables and Jumbo Trees.

It had just Clicked in my Head that many of us might be struggled to get all 1200 Mulling Spiced Bottles, Even if we use the SOS Thread Many of us will be too busy to Check Forum Postings or check our IGM from other Farmers or even Log in to be able to send Farmers Mulling Spiced Bottles or to Buddies who need Help in SOS Thread, so sound like it going to be harder for those who Struggling with Mulling Spiced Bottles. Yes i Agree with Illy1996 it will be very hard Event due to spending time with Christmas festivities !!!

Pups....We have to Make Chocolate Cookies, Candied Apple and Candy Cane which is needed to Feed Penguin, Arctic Fox and Polar Bear ...Once we have Completed Quest for All Three Animals...we can continue to Grow Anise and Cardamon and Collect Additional Mulling Spiced Bottles to Make additional Animal Donations if we managed to get this Far But we can Always Boost Drops of Mulling Spiced Bottles but Reaping Refinements of Carnations or Roses or Organic Cotton using Super Grow Cloud Row used with White Innocents planted on Comfort Fields...I am going to keep an eye to see how the Drops do on Growing Anise and Cardamon first to see if they give good drops or not...;)

Just been reading some latest postings here....Talking about Milling Additional Candy Cane vs Candied Apple ?

    Milling Candy Cane Requirements

    • 12 Mulling Spice Bottles
    • 48 Anise Crop
    • 28 Cardamon Crop
    • 20 Sugar Cane
    • 5 Cherries
To Be Donated to Polar Bear that appears on your Farm to win any of these Prizes

    Milling Candied Apple Requirements

    • 6 Mulling Spice Bottles
    • 24 Anise Crop
    • 14 Cardamon Crop
    • 10 Sugar Cane
    • 5 Cherries
    • 5 Apples
    • 12 Cinnamon
To Be Donated to Arctic Fox that appears on your Farm to win any of these Prizes

Crafting Candy Cane or Candied Apples to be used as Additional Donations the odd of winning a decent prize is quiet slim as both of them has 19 Random Prizes to be won

But Crafting Chocolate Cookie to Donate to Penguin only have 9 Random Prizes to Win the Odds of Winning Drako Stable or Sweet Beak is much better odds....Just need to point out with Drako Stable you might have a chance to Win a Red or Pink Stable or Production Pen this cannot be achieved by Candied Apple or Candy Cane. Plus if we can Win Sweet Beak more than once then surplus Sweet Beaks will be Popular for Barter and Gift Event as it is an 2x1 Giver Item which shortage of to Many Farmers needing them for Cloud Rows !!! But you will need Two Sweet Beaks for Cloud Row if you not got any 2x1 Giver Items Remaining in your Barn !!!

I Think I will Mill a Fair Amount of Additional Chocolate Cookies to Get as many Drako Stables as I can, will do some Candy Cane depending of how many surplus Mulling Spice Bottles i can get just wait and see...;)

I like all the gifts from the polar bear, so the chance of getting a decent prize is 100%

Apart from that, discussing the odds of winning wonder trees/stables and items based on how many different prizes there are in the pool is quite pointless since some prizes will have a higher probability than others within the same pool (EP/BEP/CC usually have the highest probability). So it might be that the chance of getting an item is the same from each animal, but there is no way we can know now.

Mooboy ...Thank you for adding the pink animal thingies ... they are quite helpful;)

Think i need to put some of my animals back ...manure isn't very good on my market .. am finding none when i go to buy and when i do find it... its not always in 100's

Basically only using it for my over night carnations ...they are refinery plants which is suppose to increase fertilizers effectiveness by 8%
Buying Manure is running my CC's down ...which is why i thought about putting some animals back out

Thank you wolfeyesone ;) OOOpsss phewwww And Thank you PNP ;)

Got me fox and bears in a muddle LOL:oops:

    Welcome!

I'll just add my two cents of thought on this to say there is certainly no harm in participating in the event. However your farm will benefit more in the long run if you follow farmer_broke's most excellent advice. You can of course do a bit of both. ;) Most important thing is to have fun.

12 hours in for me and I've collected 210 spice bottles so far. I'm feeling good about completing and might even be able to make a few extra candy canes as well. Fortunately I get to go and be a guest for the day on Christmas so my week is not looking that hectic. Heck I've even got all my shopping done. :music:

I think I'm starting to figure this one out. I was pretty confused at first, sometimes I guess you need to wait until the event starts and look at things before it really makes sense.

My drops are running about the same as Clashstrummer's. I'm at 206 after roughly 10 hrs so I'm also feeling good about this one.

Mooboy - Yipee....thanks so much for prize break down....and in such lovely colors!!!;)
    Shiny.Sparkle - 1st of all...Great forum name!!!!:p You have received great advice....just have fun...the rest will follow.
    Clashstrummer - o_OYou've finished all your Christmas shopping???? :eek:I'm only about 1/2 way done...Eeek! I'm a huge procrastinator...but I do get good deals that way.:pxD I'm cooking/hosting xmas dinner...and don't have any of the ingredients yet....double eeek!
This event looks do-able. I'm glad for the 4 hour & 7 hour event crops(at least it's not 8..LOL). They fit better into my hectic holiday schedule. I've been known to fake a bathroom break...to run in harvest/replant.:p:wuerg:xDxDxD

*** Good luck to All! Merry Christmas! ***

I found a bug for this event
I find that the two event crop list on the island seed shop with 0BB price for 100unit :inlove:(How wonderful
    if it is real)

But when I try to buy it. It , it say that I do not have BB to buy it (I had just bought some BB
on the special BB sale day)
    So, Bug Bug xDxD

My frist day drop not bad, even I forget to put on my howie donut on one field And too sleepy that I
left my field unfinished for overnight crop. Still I got 200drops right now.

I think the drops will be quite good this time as BP want us to keep feeding the animals after finished
the basicc event. So, keep growing event crop & may some farmers would buy basket/drops, of course,
the big income will be more spend on buying SG &SSG(predict a mini sales event comming soon)8)

I have 250 bottles, working on building up my harvests. I am going to be incredibly busy the next couple of days, so we'll see how much I get done here. RL life is more my priority right now.

Drops haven't been too bad for me, considering my initial event strategy was a bit hit and miss - as events usually start at 2.00 pm in Europe, I can't wait to harvest something! This farm has 259 Mulling Spice Bottles and Chevrefeuille has 274 so both will (probably) have twice the average daily requirement at the 24 hour stage - I'm happy with that. :)

I have opened 20 of the Penguins' gifts and these have been mainly EP/BEP/CCs with a little Supergrow, Mulch, Powerfeed and Suzi's thrown in but this is early in the event and there are still 130 Penguin gifts to go. I am confident that I will get at least one Wonder Stable. xD Chevrefeuille would love an extra Sweet Beak. The Park and Shipwreck Harbour there still look unfinished! o_O

I really don't think I can be bothered to grow extra crops after I finish the event - if I don't get any decent prizes with the gifts I get from the event, I can't see feeding the critters extra will change that! I also find the clicking a bit of a chore - click Penguin, click gift, click gift again cos the first time didn't register lol! Will have to open the gifts as I go along. :p

Anyway, I will enjoy the event, regardless of the prizes - I just love the surprise element of the gifts! :inlove:

Thank you everyone for the info and advice:D
I left my farm as normal (carnations, ginger, pens, trees and Jumbo trees the night before quest and did not harvest till after quest started. I got about 180 drops
Ripped up some of my fields and grew event crops, I have 421 drops now and 6 cookies made. Looking good for an early finish. :D
I hope you all do well. :)
Have a great Christmas holiday.:):) I'm hoping for some doggy chocolate. xD
