Aww poor Lil Miss Lotte :( Dealing with a new (2nd) ear tag, some bullying/pecking order issues, AND being in a new/strange place all in the same week! I'm sure she will start stealing the show at the Xmas tree farm soon tho... as her beauty and temperament is SO different and unique! Go Lil Miss Lotte Go! :inlove:

-.- Hector, Katya, YOU BE NICE! Or no Xmas presents/goodies for you! (Haha, yah riiiiight, we know they are ALL equally/fairly spoiled, lol).

Thanks Karen, all the pics and videos of your herd has tremendously brightened a rather gloomy Holiday Season for me. Hugs to you and your gorgeous herd :inlove: Happy Holidays!!!

Oh Guinea, we are (Luxlyk Reindeer and me) are so sorry you are having a gloomy time this Christmas.... Things could always be worse - a Boris kiss is usually combined with the most viscous part of my reindeer... their burps.... So a kiss AND a reindeer burp coming your way!!! :) And anyone else having a difficult time...
Sending Boris kisses and reindeer burps (clothes pegs needed!!) :)
Hugs & Boris kisses to all ;)

You have so many, it's easy to get confused. Especially since I have not met any of them in person! Thanks for sorting out what I meant anyway. :)

LOL Karen, Thanks for the up close and personal kiss from Boris :inlove:. Burps I can handle... (tho I do try to stay upwind, if possible!).
I get cud smelling kisses from my goats quite often, lol:wuerg:

    Today's update...
Lotte is still at Christmas tree Farm. The "piggies" seem to have accepted that she won't challenge them for all the reindeer moss (almost) but still on an hour by hour bring Lotte home...
    This afternoon, playing nicely! (
And the BIG PEOPLE are off to a school tomorrow and a wedding on Saturday - love reindeer and weddings :)

Hector, being the middle man, is being such a nice guy and allowing Lotte her place at the trough. What a sweetie he is!:p
Thanks Karen....your pic's are always a highlight to my day!;)

Brooke - Hector being a sweetie made me smile - you should have joined me in his pen 2 days ago!! I was conned too, head rubs, kisses, you name it, to "human mummy" he went bananas, I was so pleased that he seemed to have missed me UNTIL he tried to mount me - had to hold him at arms length to escape pen!!!!
Just a pushy teenage boy that will need a few "house rules" once he gets home!
Okay I admit he is and always has been adorable, it's just he has been away while his hormones have been building... Just a few training sessions now planned in January, about how Human Mummy IS NOT a mounting block but I have been watching his mother tell him off for doing the same thing - she jabs him gently with antlers, so I am thinking pointy fingers in ribs will work for me getting same message across!!! Always like emulating own species..

Maybe Hector wanted a hug...or to snuggle in your lap? :music:LOL xD...I know I'm naive. It's a bit sad that fur-babies grow up so quickly.
Yes, I'm afraid Hector has a few rib pokings coming his way. :p:wuerg::sleepy:

Lotte has come home.. I picked her up today as she wasn't settling with Hector and Katya, as well as would have liked. No pictures as been too busy to be in camera mode... Will try to remember to put camera in pocket tomorrow to take snaps of the home paddocks.
Today the Big Kids we were at a school and I don't take pictures at schools...
Love Christmas BUT getting to that stage where I am looking forward to January!!! ;)

Edit... Now added pictures from today...

Picture 1 Lotte chilling with the Home Crowd.
Picture 2 Mischa getting her naps in before a wedding on Saturday & of course her busy time with Santa on Christmas Eve.. :)[IMG]

Karen - o_Oooh :D Thank You for bringing back my absolute fav pic of Hector of all time!!! :pHappy 7 month B-day you handsome boy!!!;) I'm glad you brought dear Lotte home. You're such a great reindeer mommy! Mischa looks so regal in her red halter.

I like Mischa's new halter too:inlove:... looks very comfy (not to mention striking, and festive!). I make my own hand tied rope halters and leads for all of my horses, so my eye is automatically drawn to any halter on any animal, lol :)

Oh Guinea... might commission you - have so much trouble getting head collars that actually fit... Bat between llama and foal for different age groups but none really fit! That Mischa head collar was actually made by Sami out of reindeer hide (but don't tell her)!

No pictures to add today. Did a wonderful wedding yesterday with Boris and Mischa but will be a while before pictures released and brought Katya and Hector home BUT after dark. The paddock went mad, charging around at up to 50 mph but not sure who was chasing who... my guess in the dark, Hector chasing Ana... If so, my guess is Ana wasn't covered by Monty as my "darling, sweetums" Hector is so innocent anymore - I know he is getting a handful with me (way TOOO friendly). He will have to go back to reindeer school 101 or have the snip.... but really want to keep him entire till this Autumns rut. Will try to get hubby to film his interaction with me tomorrow as it is getting beyond... Had always heard that only wild (or slightly wild) males should be kept intact - hadn't believed it until Hector AND he's only a baby still... Whenever he sees me now he goes into manic head rubs, which excite him (must be an erogenous zone for reindeer) bless him, he goes cross eyed and I have to hold him off before he leaps up... he's as light as a feather now and his antlers only point backwards so no danger but he is beyond communication.. LOVE him to bits BUT!!!

Edit.. thought I would have a major problem with Hector (being too friendly). He is back home now and while he was TOO friendly when I visited (climbing all over me) he has been a gentleman since he has come home... Too much to ask that he was "just pleased to see me". We have a visit tomorrow that wanted this "cheeky chappie" but wasn't sure it would be a good idea to take him but after today's readjustment to r/l I think he will be a perfect double act with Boris..

Karen, All of your pictures and videos are amazing they just make my day. :) Thanks so much for all your hard work keeping us updated with your herd. I am always so happy to head to this thread, for a dose cuteness! I have learned a lot as well.
One thing, Don't the reindeer react to the halters made from other reindeer hides? Even processed it must hold a slight odor...

No more than cows react to halters that are made of cowhide.
