New Baby reindeer to my herd

Thank you Karen for the wonderful pictures of Lotte, and Mischa I am happy Miss lotte is home where she can relax with friends As for Hector, well, just what can you say about and adoreable 7 month old reindeer. except maybe HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I loved the video

 

I guess when Karen posts some video we'll find out if Hector's been naughty or nice huh???

 

Sorry folks... lot's of reasons for no updates...
Main reason, no one had posted, so I couldn't (spam) add pictures.
BUT then I had also done something odd to my camera so that all photo's in daytime seemed at night..
and the promised video of Hector going into possessed mode hasn't happened as far as I am concerned, delighted - as it is Hector on Santa's Naughty List.
When I visited him in his "Holiday Home" he went ditzy rubbing his head against my thigh but he overexcited himself and jumped up - not good and thinking I would have to get a little firm with him BUT he has mostly behaved since home.
He and Boris did our last booking for this year... Boris the Old Stager (napping on the job) - Hector trying to get back on Santa's Good List - he said hello to everyone, even those who didn't want reindeer kisses - it was only when he was bored that he went into head rubbing mode on me...
If camera working and a reply received, will try my best to take video or decent photo's before Christmas...

 

Hi BoHoKaren, this is such a busy time of year, but all your efforts are appreciated by us all! So all you can do is your best And I for one am glad Hector is trying to get on Santa's Nice list Happy Christmas to you and your family

 

We don't mean to pressure you Karen... we all know that you have GOT to be crazy busy right now, especially with it being this close to Xmas. We love reading and seeing your updates and pics/video, and truly appreciate everything you take the time to share with us

Glad Hector is not stressing you with his behavior right now! Hope the camera starts behaving as well. Take your time; we will wait patiently until you can share something.

 

I will post, but video and today's photos are not good.
They are all wet through, they have a lovely dry barn to sleep in but they choose to sleep outside and it rains and rains in the UK.
Hector is still on Santa's naughty list - I either can't take photo's as he is too close or he has a muddy nose...
Will try harder after Christmas.

A Very Merry Christmas to Each and Everyone who follows my Precious Reindeer Herd throughout the year, your interest so helps as most people forget reindeer for 10 months of the year.

I feel a little guilty that this close to Christmas I am not posting wonderful photo's to make your Christmas but this is when we are very busy..
The reindeer have actually finished for this season (apart from Flying for Santa on Christmas Eve, of course ) but it is my time to panic that the presents haven't been brought etc. etc.!!

If you will forgive me, then our own calender starts in January, with training, as soon as I have time.
Seems Hector will be an unusual reindeer, in that he is so human bonded he may work alone. So planning to see if he will follow me on a walk, without lead rope or other reindeer.. If he decides to leave the herd to follow me, then he will be happy to do visits to Hospices alone as I know he is bomb proof.
Twiggy has never been asked to do any exhibits, she (along with Boris, Mischa, Katya) were wild bred on the tundra in Northern Finland/Russian boarder (Boris was meat tagged ) but Twiggy has never wanted to tame down... she did a cracking job with her Premmie calf. She never showed any inclination to bond before the last couple of weeks (cracking stay at home mother though) but just recently she is showing signs of wanting my attention... so it's time to work on her too...
Ana, I had been making progress on (another wild bred) but she has gone backwards, not sure why?
And I have to give Lotte attention - she will be easy as she is quite happy with strokes and cuddles while eating, so only have to work on a lead rope..
Boris, Mischa and Katya just need everyday cuddles, no training needed...
And then we go on to udder/belly watch.. and I will bore you all to pieces as I guess who has a baby on the way!!!

LOL I bet you have to wipe off your camera lens quite often!

 

Guinea . I do - way too often.. Think last picture was after a Hector selfie when I didn't!!!

Karen - Merry Christmas to you and all your furries! I have enjoyed all the photos and videos. Each of them have such unique personalities that color your stories ....very entertaining. I think I told you before but will remind you that this is one of my favorite places to stop by to read. I always look forward to your posts.

We are now back to normal posts.. only boring ones from now on I am afraid as nobody wants a reindeer out of season

BUT I would like to make a huge shout out and thanks a serious Luxlyk follower family who have stepped in and looked after my babies over Christmas to allow (me) their human keepers spend a couple of days with elderly father. Thank you beyond ... you loved it but I thank you beyond!!

Such gorgeous, well socialized, majestic animals. Anyone that gets to experience your herd up close and in person is beyond lucky, IMO (no matter what time of year!!), Thanks for sharing Karen!

Lots of silly antics today when I moved them to a paddock that wasn't quite as wet.
Loads of footage but think this has the most fun in shortest time.
Katya, hadn't spotted that the rest had changed paddocks and the rest didn't realise she was missing... until....
