No, woody, that code was given to me over 2 years ago. I just thought it might be a mentor code to hand out, not really a bonus code for everyone.

If we do see a response from our chicks, will it be in our roost or at the post office?

I know my sent mail to my chicks from the roost is in my outgoing mail in the post office.

Tell your friend it's the mentor not her.

I am level 92, so not inexperienced at this game. I thought I would start a new farm to try farming a different way.
I asked for a mentor and had one assigned.

The first letter I received stated that if I didnt sent love points every day they would delete me, as there were lots of other chicks out there and i needed them more than they needed me and it was quite aggressive in tone. And having seen this person in the english speaking forums, I know that they are able to communicate quite competently in English. Needless to say I hit leave mentor straight away.

So I can definitely say tell your friend it was the mentor not her.

Oh...broke...you are too kind with your compliments!:inlove: I have adored being your mentor....and now a 2nd time is just the icing on the cake! However, you have surpassed me in every way in strategy of the game. It is I, whom am learning from you!:music:
Besides my cutie, broke, I have hit a dry spot as far as chicks go lately. I only have 2 in the nest right now...as I have tired of the non-playing chicks I've received in the past few months.
When I stated that BP should do more to support the mentor system....I said that occasional pop ups, explaining that a "real life" player of the game is waiting to assist you. Also there could be a short questionaire for possible chicks to check boxes while signing up in the game. Perhaps box 1= I'm a new player who needs help. Box 2= I'm a veteran of the game...and only need gifts. Box 3= I do not speak English..so need a translator. etc.

Thank you all for your input!
I have recently become a mentor. After day three of sending a welcome message followed by a daily tip and gifts...I find that they are still in the green, but not levelling up at all.
Do I keep on track and hope that they are weekend players or drop them? My messages have not been aggressive, I have not discussed dropping them...
WHEN do you drop a chick and call it quits with them?

i personally, would suggest to fill up your "love meter" at least once or twice and if your on the game frequently enough, you'll have a fair idea whether they play frequently or not, if you think they don't then sure why not help someone else who's in need.if that makes sense.

I just realized something as I actually have a real live chick that responded to my greeting. (I'm so excited!) :D
I just replied as I would to anyone within the same message and afterwards I realized that I should have gone back to the nest instead. If I had sent the reply from their via the message screen I would have received love points for it. Just a thought on maximizing points since it seems real chicks are few and far between.

    Bonfrog,
I don't think you can in your roost. I was looking back at the emails I got from my mentor a couple years ago and they are just plain text emoticons, and I didn't see a way to do it in the roost. In the forum here, you can select them from the smiley-face icon above the field where you type your message.

I'm not sure if this is normal, but I got my first chick yesterday afternoon (US-EST) and messaged him, but didn't send a gift until after the farmarama day-shift that happens at 6pm my time. Then I got 2 more chicks and sent them all messages and gifts. The first chick leveled up overnight, so earlier today, I sent him a congratulations message, then sent them all both a message and gift today after 6 pm. The 2 newer chicks are at 20 love points and the first chick is only at 10. Only thing I can think is technically I didn't send him a gift that first "Farmarama day" (even though I did in my time zone). But still, he's gotten 4 messages and 2 gifts from the roost and the others only 2 messages and 2 gifts. Any ideas?

broke, the egg farm is not the only way to do those quests that require eggs. They can buy them from the market! (After selling chickens in the market for big CCs instead of feeding them to the egg farm!) :)

The quests in which farmer_broke refers to actually require the person to make the items. They cannot be purchased from the market.

I know it was both funny and sad.

And if that was the first contact someone had they would ask themselves why would they want to stay? Broke it sounds like you and I had the same mentor. Im sure that the line about flashing red was in there too in my message.

It does make a difference how you come across if you are sending messages. Because can be an influencer in whether someone may stay or not.

And Broke, you sound like the ideal chick. Im glad you had a better experience with Brookeham than the other. It does make a big difference.

Labmommy my comments were not directed at you. As the farm I was referring to was quite some time ago.

Awww, my baby farm is now a Mentor too! I don't hold out much hope for either farm to progress much though, two are flashing red already and the others are in single figure levels, none have moved since I took them on! But I am sending them an introductory message, a gift (influenced by the comments here) and if they come back, I will welcome them with open arms! :inlove:

You can send messages from the roost, from the post office or your neighbor bar. HOWEVER, if you send messages from the roost, then it helps you earn love points, but not from the other 2 places. I have not yet had a chick respond, so someone else will have to answer that part.
When posting here, at least Look above the message line for the happy face. Click on it and you will go to the smilies... a whole bunch of different sheep faces. :music::sleepy:o_O:eek::D:p etc...

Yes, I forgot about those timed FSQs for eggs. I think I'd still advise them to wait to do those until after a G&T. Egg trees can still be acquired through that event. There are still plenty of other quests (and events) to do while they wait.

Okay, for those wondering. There is ONE timed FSQ that requires eggs. It is "Fluffy Pancakes". It requires amongest other things 50 eggs over 4 steps. This requires 150 chickens.

    Rewards are Total =
    Total 11200 CCs
    Total 5600 EP
    Total 4 Stars
Total 1 Country Cake deco item

Right now on my market chickens are going for 500 CCs each but for this example let's say they are going for 250 CCs each.
That is 37500 CCs which could be spent elsewhere.

Would you recommend that your chick work on this FSQ or on something else?
