Thank you everyone for all of the awesome tips, shares and advise....VERY much appreciatedxD:inlove:

Well somehow I became a mentor to three little chicks!! Have sent them daily gifts for the past four days, as well as IGM's and have heard nothing from any of them. So today I sent them each an "Airmail"!! Hope they don't miss that one!! Really hoping to at least get some kind of an answer, even if it is bugger off!!
    ;) Happy Mentoring;)

baw - I have neighbors/friends that I communicate with regularly and every now and then we all send a blank message by mistake. Sometimes, in order to see the full message, I use the 'reply' button just to read it as it scrolls down better than just the viewing option you have when you open the message. Also, I have had it happen to me, as well as a neighbor, that when I press 'reply' sometimes is will send a blank message and sometimes it send the same message twice. BP glitch.

My two CC's worth...just to establish effective communication, be honest with your chick. Reply to their message that it was blank and ask if it was intentional or accidental. Perhaps they have a question that was lost. Perhaps it is as you suspect and just a quick acknowledgement. I don't know....If your chick is trying to communicate with you, you can try to install some laughter into the situation as I think it will be part of a mentor's assistance to help a chick go through the normal glitches we all experience. Sometimes you have to xD in order to keep from  or . Again...my 2 CCs.

007- for curiosity sake, would you mind sharing what you put in your Airmail? Nice thought....they can't miss that.

Keep in mind that a lot of these players might be playing through a 3rd party site. So they might have just briefly tried out the game to see if they liked it or not. So you might want to wait a few days to see if your chick has any activity at all before sending them crafting items.

I went BIG!!! I can always make more:p
PNP...I used different approaches in each of the Airmails to the chickadees. I basically said hello from your "Mentor", asked if they wanted a mentor, help, daily free gifts, that I was there to help them and said that it would be my last attempt at reaching them and also mentioned that I didn't want to bother/pester them. Can't really say very much in an Airmail....see what happens!!
I have no intentions of letting this get me down, frustrated or angry...it's just a game...one that I :inlove:

Really not a matter, the 1st three I got on keltic farm 2 bottomed out right off one is playing and leveling up, dropped the two that blinking red for a bit and got two more none talk.
I sent a nice letter in the beginning say hi, I'm your mentor blah blah, if you need any aid blah check out these threads blah blah, have a nice blah blah.

Now, I looked at it as one that wants to give as my most wonderful mentor for keltic showed me the fun in the game and dug me out of a crash n burn:oops: that would have had me quitting the game did for me, but my chicks choose not to talk. Fine by me all play as they can. I send a daily mail titled gift say what it is and how to use it, I stay in basic gifts, as no talk I don't know what they are doing, If one was to talk to me I would send basic gifts and artisan gifts but oh well.
I can't say if sending messages with 20 hello's in 20 tongues would help with pick one on the end... but if they choose not to talk I just wonder at what point do you say what ever and just keep doing as you can or delete them till you find one that is out there that really needs help? or do you wait a level you pick and just send artisan gifts with a message say way to go when they get to the say level 20 or 12?
As for eggs and shearing sheds I am using them on my step child farm as I am playing that one all free no mentor to start, no neighbor, no movies daily-.-till the game lets me and not the blank screen where the movie should be ........ then freeze it but that's another issue I digress.....
I loved my mentor the words of wisdom I could not play without back then, I just would like the chance to give half as much wisdom to another.

    o_OHi meba,
Sometimes I read things and they just don't filter right :p Naa never boot one for not talking just the ones no longer playing. One can only hope they read a thread or two and see what doors of fun can be opened just for getting on the forum, I know new people can be iffy about forums, some just not freakie friendly like here, all accepted and barrels of help and fun to go around. I will always keep chickies talk or no talk as long as they can stay <level 40> Just think it's sad they don't see the full fun they could be having, heck just in free stuff!
I know I loved the shearing sheds, -.-Them creepy tools never come fast enough!!!-.-and in the beginning , I am always checking for baskets on ming I want workshops!!!! and all a chick need do is ask hey send me more of ...... and *poof* a mentor will.

I have another suggestion as to why the chickadees are not responding. I have a 10 year old grandchild that plays another farming game and her mother will not allow her to use the chat feature at all!! Maybe these are real chickadees and in the same boat???
Just thought I would put that out there.
Oh and hello everyone. I'm relatively new but quite new to the forum although I read everything lol :)

UPDATE: One of my little chicks responded today via IGM:D And they responded with words...even better!!! Will press on with the other two. One is playing and leveling up, the other not playing / leveling up at all.

Have I told you lately that I love my Farm Friends and Neighbours??? Thank you again, for all of your shares, tips and advisexD

    Hi CylentLea1238)

Suggestion to BP: Should a player request a "Mentor" and they have the chat/IGM option OFF, perhaps BP could send a "System" message stating that the purpose of mentoring is to aid the chickadee and may need to communicate once in a while via IGM. Perhaps BP could have an "option" of allowing chat between just the Mentor and Chickadee...

Despite none of my Chicks replying to my IGM and the thermometer not moving at all, I hung on to my Chickadees just in case they only played on weekends or something but I can honestly say they must have tried the game and just gone on to other things. Hopefully I can catch some before they wander off! :D
I will probably delete those flashing red tomorrow so that some others get a chance to have a Mentor before they reach level 40! :music:

Nevertheless, I have managed to get a bonus from my Chicks, so not all bad news. Now to save up enough points to get anything above the daily EP (though that would be nice, I am looking at higher things! A weekly "random breeding animal" has caught my eye!). :inlove:

Be kind to them Broke, you are a professional chick and they may only be a baby beginner mentor.

I haven't had even one chick that's EP has moved. So must be getting all the practice chicks

This Morning I removed a Chickadee as Bar had not budged for few days. Then what appears to be a new problem is shortage or Chickadees as more and more of us have become Mentors more Quicker then ever before...In the past it took ages to become an Mentor now from some postings i have seen some farmers who have not been playing that long as been Prompt to be a Mentors well to be Honest these kind of Mentors are not Extremely Experience compared to Veteran Farmers who can actually be far more Helpful to Chickadees Providing they are very responsive to IGMs

Many of us are hardly getting any IGM from Chickadees, it is frustrating want to help them but they are are not getting that much helpful advise. Also there is a Tutorial about Chickadees and Basic Insight how to get the Hang of This Game. Many Chickadees do not watch and Study these Tutorials as Many of them dive into this game not seem to be grasping the concepts how to play this game to be able to Progress and Level up etc...!!!

I guess just Bear with it and Hope we get some Active, Progressive Chickadees Fingers Cross ?? ;)

It took a long time to become mentors because they put a freeze on opening new mentor spots. They were opening mentor spots of a Wednesday, but that only lasted a few weeks. Because then they announced that the system was broken and they werent going to try and fix it, just redo the whole mentor process but that it wasnt a priority.

from the producers new letter (from the producer before the current one)

    1. Mentoring: As you all know, the mentoring system doesn’t work as it should. Even if it did work, the fact is that there will always be large discrepancies between the number of new players per day and the number of active players per day, so we need to rethink the system … and that’s what we’re doing! Potential ideas include:
    a. Allowing you to choose which languages/countries you would like your chicklet to come from, so that you have more chances of getting a chicklet.
    b. Integrating the mentor system better into the neighbor list.

Please keep in mind: Rethinking the mentor system is a major task, and 10 people can’t do it 10 times as fast as 1 person! We have someone working on the concept and that is my major priority, but we won’t start working on the actual art/code for a long time, and I don’t think it can be done before early 2014.

    Mentoring Update
As I mentioned in the last newsletter, we are planning a complete rework of the mentoring feature. We know that the current system is very buggy, but fixing the bugs would take months and not really solve all the problems you’re having, since in the current system there will always be less chicklets than mentors. I know it’s difficult, but we’ve decided not to invest the months we’d need to fix the bugs in the old system so that we can focus on the new system: We’re aiming for something broader than mentoring the way it is meant to be now, something that will allow you to meet and interact with other players within the game itself, not just via in-game message. We have a few technical limitations to deal with, but we’re confident we will end up with something useful, functional and fun.

Sorry TC & meba....You can't have my broke chick! LOL:pxDxD
I believe we(mentors) are having trouble getting a "playing the game chick" because there are many more of us older(longtime) players than newbie players. All except for 2 of my neighbors are above level 85!!! Quite a few of my neighbors I've had for 5 years.
It seems to me, many newbies join......play for a few days(so they get into the mentor system) and then quit.
So the goal of BP and us mentors needs to be to stop these newbies from quitting the game. Perhaps jump starting the Facebook page would be a place to start. I'm going to wander over to it...and rant & rave how fun this game is!!! ;)
