SUMMARY
There are 3 drop items:
Lure feathers from stables and workshops
Metal discs ONLY from trees
Fishhooks from BOTH trees and crops

*** No event crop


1 Fishing Lure: need 4 fish hooks + 4 Lure feathers, mills in 10 seconds
1 Premium Lures: need 6 fish hooks + 5 Lure feathers + 8 metal discs, mills in 20 seconds
1 Deluxe Lures: need 14 fish hooks + 14 Lure feathers mills in 25 seconds


Amounts needed are hard to estimate because it depends on your catch and the lure you use. However, FAQs state that you will get at least one fish each time.

With that in mind, here are some ranges:

To get hooked on fish cloud row (the new one) and givers you need 750 coins
WORST POSSIBLE RESULTS/(most that could possibly be needed), winning ONLY mackerals, (6=8 coins) 564 fish needed:
Using (basic)Fishing lures --- 2256 hooks, 2256 feathers
Using Premium lures (2 mackerals) --- 1692 hooks, 1410 feathers, 2256 metal discs
Using Deluxe lures (3 lobsters) 5=10 coins 75 lobsters needed,
--- 1050 hooks and 1050 feathers

BEST POSSIBLE RESULTS/ (barest minimum you could possibly have to use) winning all Marlins (25 coins) 750 coins/25 = 30 fish
Using (basic) Fishing lures --- 120 hooks, 120 feathers
Using Premium lures (2 Marlin) --- 180hooks, 150 feathers, 240 metal discs
Using Deluxe lures (3 Marlin) --- 420 hooks and 420 feathers

NOTE!!!!! I cannot emphasize enough that NEITHER of the above results is likely. These are the extremes if you get ONLY the best/worst results.

The following may give a slightly better indication of what we can expect, but they are really just very gross estimates, not likely to be accurate. The most likely result is near the middle, but some people will be quite lucky, others .. not so much. Expect a LOT of variation between individuals!

OTHER POSSIBLE RESULTS/ (second best results always) winning all octopus (2 = 18 coins) 750 coins/18 = 42 sets * 2 = 84 octopus
Using (basic) Fishing lures --- 336 hooks, 336 feathers
Using Premium lures (2 octopi) --- 252 hooks, 210 feathers, 336 metal discs
Using Deluxe lures (3 octopi) --- 392hooks and 392 feathers

OTHER POSSIBLE RESULTS (very rough "average" winning all parrotfish (4 = 12 coins) 750 coins/12 = 63 sets * 4 = 252 parrotfish caught
Using (basic) Fishing lures --- 1008 hooks, 1008 feathers
Using Premium lures (2 parrotfish) ---756 hooks,630 feathers, 508 metal discs
Using Deluxe lures (3 parrotfish) --- 1176 hooks and 1176 feathers
NOTE: "average" here is a very rough estimate. Your actual results WILL vary quite a bit. Also note that you have a better chance of getting a good result from Premium than regular lure and a better chance from Deluxe lures than from Premium lures


The most likely result will be near the middle, but some people will be very lucky and others no so much. A lot will depend on the drops. Without knowing the individual drop rates, it is impossible to really say how many of each we will get.

ALSO -- Each person can only get 1 of each cloud row and miscellaneous items, but givers (new and old) are available to purchase as many times as you wish.

 

Thank you woody, for putting this out! I've been looking at the strategy thread from the Gone Fishin' event trying to plan my field layouts because there wasn't one out for this event yet. I think I'm going to try one field of trees, one field of stables, and one field of crops (probably carnations) and see how my drops are. I'm a bit concerned about being able to do a bunch, as won't have a ton of time online starting Tuesday, but at least there are no event crops, and trees and stables will give me longer stretches to be able to not lose horrendous amounts of production time, or so I hope. My question is this, tho - should we turn off auto harvest for trees overnight?

Hello friends. It seems to me that Deluxe Lures is better because i) you have better chances to catch a nice fish and ii) only Lure feathers and Fishhooks are needed.

It's nice to have an event were it does not stop farm work, so much to do.....

How Lovely The Fishing Event is just 1 Day away. As Many of us loved the Last Fishing Event !!. As the FAQ states that no Event Crops is Required during this Event.

There are Three Kind of Drops Consisting of Lure Feather, Metal Disc and Fishhook. As we need to Plan out how we to get Best Start to this Event. One of Most Sensible Methods is to plan your Farm Ahead of this Event.

I have put out all Jumbo Trees I have, Combined with Production Workshops mostly they are Bio Glue and Hydrant Factories, Surrounded by 1x1 Trees. On Island and Rainforest i have place them all with Trees Since they have longer Growing Time than using Tropical Stables, which should gives us better Boost of Drops Once they are Ready to be Harvested for this Event.

Tip 1 - Plan your Farm well to have good Start to gain a decent about of Lure Feathers,Metal Disc and Fishhook

During this Event we have Three Types of Milling Products but we have to make up our minds which Combos of Milled Products of Fishing Lure, Premium Lure and Deluxe Lure. I will do Breakdown of this stating one new Factor compared to Last Fishing Event

Fishing Lure

• 4 Lure Feathers
• 4 Fishhooks
• 10 Seconds Milling Time
• Number of Catches = 1 (Per Premium Lure)
• Normal Chance Catching a Marlin (25 Coins)

Premium Lure

• 5 Lure Feathers
• 6 Fishhooks
• 8 Metal Disc
• 20 Seconds Milling Time
• Number of Catches = 2 (Per Premium Lure)
• Better Chance of Catching a Marlin (25 Coins)

Deluxe Lure

• 14 Lure Feathers
• 14 Fishhooks
• 25 Seconds Milling Time
• Number of Catches = 3 (Per Deluxe Lure)
• Best Chance of Catching a Marlin (25 Coins)

As you can See there is Three Milling Products to be Milled. But it all de.pends of Amounts of Drops we get, Also what we are harvesting of Aquire Variance of Lure Feathers, Metal Disc and Fishhooks

Tip 2 Suggest to Mill a Combination of Premium Lure and Deluxe Lure, which better our chances of Catching a Marlin, Plus we can get More Fishing Attempts that we did not have this Opportunity compared to last Fishing Event

To Obtain Lure Feathers we need to place and Harvest our Stables or Workshops but Most Workshops take longer to Reap compared to Stables since we can use Buffs and Cloud Rows Buffs

To Obtain Fishhooks we need to place and reap Crops, which we can reduce crops growing time using, Manure,Water,Refinements and Super Grow. There is no Buffs to Reduce Tree growing time but can use Super Mulch (Optional). Plus it make sense to place all XXL Trees or any 12 Hour Trees. I would refrain using 20 Hour Trees once this event has started !!

• Tip 3 When Growing Crops Take Advantage of Growing Refined Crops combined using it with Water, Manure which can be more effective when using refinements correctly or even used Super Grow to Nuke it Up

 

Should we turn off the Auto Tree Harvest for over night ?

 

I don't have the tree harvester but it seems to make sense to me to turn it off until after event starts so they don't get harvested before the actual event start time. I have some of everything out so guess I will wait and see what kind of drops there are. Good luck to all!

 

That's my strategy too. If it doesn't work I will try something else.

 

Just to see how it goes I go by 2 fields with trees (baha, main), 2 fields with pens/workshops (baha, meadow) and 1 field with crops (glade). By doing so I'll get at least some of everything. Drop rate will determine if any changes are needed.

PS. If you have prepared your farm and if you use the regular harvester, be aware not to use it untill after the start of the event as it'll harvest everything that's ready to harvest. Best to treasure your trees and pens for awhile!

By the loooks of things I'm just going for Delux-bait, or Normal bait. Metals are not needed I think

But we only know once the Event has started

I couldn't do events without you guys, you're wonderful. i have one field of animals and workshops, two of crops and trees and Baha is crops, animals, workshops and trees on both..... if this doesn't work i take out one field of crops and put all trees.

 

I wasn't around f the first fishing event so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works. It sure sounds like fun. I can't remember the last time I went fishing...

 

Thanks Mooboy and woody for your analysis of the event! I have one main land field in refined carnations; the rest in trees and stables/workshops. Now it's just wait and see if the drops are good!

 

A minor correction to the worst case scenario. With premium lures, not only do you get three fish, instead of one or two, but you are guaranteed not to get any mackerel no matter how badly you target the fishing ring.

My plan is to avoid the mackerel - they are terrible catches. It takes 6 mackerel to get eight coins. With so many unknown factors, it is hard to say if it is worth growing trees to get metal discs for premium lures - but I will not be wasting my drops on the plain fishing lures.
