Hooked on Fishing strategy

In town there is a character who has been sitting on ah bench fishin with a boot for a long long time now. Been sitting too long not to catch anything and I figure that character must know something. I think I'll just set ah spell too and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I don't really believe the fish in this event are big enough for me to bother. I'll just take whatever comes from doin the broke thing.

After ah bigger fish here with far less effort.

I'll have crops, trees, and stables. We'll see how the drops go.

 

Accumulated 102 fish hooks, 35 lure feathers, and 49 discs from my overnight crops/trees/workshops. I think for now I'll concentrate on trying to get drops and wait before milling anything. I'd really like that chocolate pancake recipe and the cloud row I don't have ...

 

I hear you alexis!! The event should be starting in about 10 minutes (my time) and cant wait to see what I get. Am aiming for that chocolate pancake receipe as well. The new cloud row would be nice

Ah broke, don't you know... he is just trying to get out of the house (kids were driving him crazy). His hook has no bait! But enjoy the nice day.. winter has finally decided to hit here.

 

My plan is to avoid trees all together and just focus on obtaining Fish Hooks and Lure Feathers for Deluxe Lures.

 

How does a young farm without many upgraded animal pens and not many xxl trees and not very long crops get really good drops??
Is it even possible? I would really like the cloud row....

This mornings harvest gave me
98 hooks
40 feathers
46 discs
so I will see where I am in 24 hours and maybe make some adjustments. I decided I'm not going to stress out about this event I will do my best and leave it at that

 

Look at the "general event strategies" and EP strategies threads (next page of this forum, the strategies forum) for help.

Is it possible? I cannot say without knowing what all you have and even then, a lot depends on luck. As a minimum, though, you should be able to get some of the items-- be it miscellaneous or givers. But do be careful on your selections. Think out what is really going to do you the most good overall.

 

This is similar to me. I am thinking that pens are not the best option for this event, but am trying to get a read on what others, who have higher drop rates, are doing to be sure.

CylentLea, the drops depend on time, so upgrades are not needed to improve drops. If you want long stables, dogs and reindeer are now available for all in the shop for CC. A field of regular trees will give more drops than a field of XXL trees, because regular trees take longer. If you harvest the XXL trees twice a day you can expect more drops than one harvest of regular trees, but the difference is not that big. If you don't have long crops you can use trees to get the hooks instead. Good luck

 

Hi Woody, as Mir just posted it is the chart but not stated specifically in text, no Mackerel for deluxe. It will be very interesting to see how easy/often we get a perfect catch. If it is easy, I will pull all my trees and go for just deluxe lures.

I received 104 feathers, 46 hooks and 35 discs in my first harvest - that was with my longest stalls and workshops and no crops. I am taking down half of my trees and sending the wolves and roosters back to the barn replacing with a few reindeer and lots of carnations to balance those numbers out.

 

From trees i got 29 hooks .... 5 lure feathers and 21 metal discs ... so dont know which is the best option at the moment

Am glad i am not alone then woody ...ok back to scraping my farm up and starting again LOL

That sounds good Aethetia thank you ... maybe a field of refined carnations may help...will try that with a field of reindeers etc

 

Altheria, if I read the FAQ correctly
fishing lure yields 1 fish
Premium yields 2 fish
Deluxe yields 3 fish
so I think if you want 3 fish it's Deluxe lures not premium ones you want. woody, reight under where it says "Is there anything else I should know" it's in the first paragragh I believe that states about hoe many fish each lure will give you Good luck

 

Just used a premium lure on BW and landed just outside the glowing circle and got 2 parrotfish, 2nd premium landed exactly on the glowing circle (making the perfect spot right?), and got 2 parrotfish. I know it is early but not exactly what I was hoping for.

Edit: Just used a deluxe lure on BW and landed on the glowing circle and got 3 parrotfish. Deluxe lures making a perfect catch are not supposed to get parrotfish. 2nd deluxe landed just inside the glowing circle and got 3 blowfish.

Looks like BP did not fix the landing zone.

Have to wait for another harvest of stables to collect more feathers to make more lures to try again.

Instead of trees XXL, use crops. Try with roses and carnation. If you have refinement, use them to grow the crops in a faster rate. I think you can get the cloud row with items. Try using deluxe bait. That's what I am going to do.
