Just wanted to add some evidence. I need a third lobster to get some points. So I deliberately clicked when the little moving circle was in at the closest circle, ie, a bad spot. And I got an octopus! so... there is something fishy with the mechanics of this.

Deluxe Lure is a waste of resources. Actually minimises chances of getting Marlins...

A tip from the DE forum: Zoom in on the fishing, the screen (not browser). If you are using a windows computer and your keyboard has a windows button, pressing that together with "+" does the trick (there are other ways too).

I tried it and it really helps, makes it easier to aim, and makes it easier to see exactly where you hit :)

FWIW: My peanut butter factories have been pretty good at giving feathers. I only have 4 though so not much statistical evidence. And of course, following Murphy's Law, I probably won't get another out of them. :wuerg:

I've gotten much better results from the plain fishing lures than either the deluxe or premium. That is to say I've won more marlins and more consistently although I agree there does still seem to be a random quality to it.

As for the feathers well so far my best results have been from pigs, 44 got me 23 feathers. I'm trying a field of bees now and I'm hoping for a bit more out of them. I've got a field of long term production pens and animals ranging from orange to red with a couple of pinks tossed in and I'm only getting about 17 feathers from the whole field.

Not much different to how I remember the last event being.

I am mainly using premium lures to get two fish results (and for some reason more marlins than with regular lures; and milling regular lures from leftovers. Clashstrummer - Interesting that we are getting different results from those regular lures.

My island trees have actually produced better drops than main fields, so now have stables on two main fields with trees on the edges. Have one main field in refined roses.

Closing in on the cloud row and givers! :) Best of luck to everyone in achieving your goals!

.Ming farm is too young to play outside the barn, but I am only making deluxe lures 3 fish per and no minnows. That has me seeing it as worth it even thought the fish game is only a tad better than the chances of what fish that the last game gave.
On keltic I have had no issues getting a few marlins per lot by clicking it as it grows outward from the center, I didn't get as many marlins clicking on the gray letting it come back to the center.

So few feathers. So many hooks.
I've got better results (better fish) with normal lures than with the others.

The best feathers result I got so far is 15 out of 24 pens (effectiveness = 62,5%). It was a combination of 13:00 --> 15:05 hs base time pens: 8 org crow, 9 groundhog, 1 swan, 3 armadillos.

In another field, out of 30 pens, all base-timed 11:00 --> 15:00, I got 15 feathers (effectiveness = 50%): 1 neon duck, 9 neon rabbit, 6 neon goat, 4 pink sheep, 1 pink turkey, 3 kingfisher, 6 owl. This set's weighted avg was then biased towards the lower time of that base time range.

After current set, I'll later try with longer-timed pens (or workshops), overnight. (I've been told workshops, even shorter ones, like cheese factories, are practically all of them yielding feathers).

Anyway, I'll just produce what I need: let the feathers be what they must be. I won't get crazy about this (but I'll try to get, at the very least, the CR and its items: it's a must have CR, in my opinion).

Sir Pippin - think you may be aiming for the wrong ring (I did too last time) - I think you need the pinkish colour one for the perfect hit... ;) Look at Mir's pictures closely.

What I am seeing is that the results are more or less random, with some skewing. That would match the varied results people are getting-- its all individual perception, not true statistical reality.

I suggest if anyone does get a bad result again, as in parrots from a perfect premium, etc, that they take a screenshot. Only then will we be able to show what we are saying.

Mir85...I did do your Tip about Zooming in using Window and + Button. Using a Fishing Lure I got it Spot On but I still end up getting a Lobster not even an Octopus or Marlin. It Just Proves my point on my previous postings as it down to kind of Randomness. how do you explain some farmers had poor Catches in Dark Blue Rings getting actually Really Good Fishes.

Also some farmers are claiming that Deluxe Lure and Premium Lure as Getting Fishes that is Exempt from Fish Probability Chart it just not make any sense therefore This Fishing Lure not not work just like Mach O Meter

I am at The Stage to Put out All Trees and Some Super Trees to see how Many Metal Disc and Fishhooks I can possibly get in one Harvest. I will give you my results when they are ready by tomorrow ok

I know the fishing game doesn't work like the match-o-meter, and it is not supposed to. It is clear from the FAQ that there is randomness involved.
Yes, hitting the perfect spot with a regular lure can get you any fish except mackerel.
What is there to explain? Yes, you can be lucky and get a really good fish in the weak spot too. (Of course if players consistently get better fish in the weak spot than the perfect spot then there is something fishy going on. But a few examples is not enough to make such a conclusion.)

    ------

Please note: I am not making any claims that the game is working like advertised, I really can't comment on that, have only tried a few times myself. But there is no point complaining that the game doesn't work like the match-o-meter when it is not supposed to, that just adds confusion.

I played it 4 times and I did well in all lures. I don't know which one I should choose to mill.
Why does it say that the Cloud row is sold out?

  17. Aetheria14

    Aetheria14 Regular

What would be helpful is if the game used the terms for correctly hitting the target consistently. I have gotten "great" for what I thought was a good hit (parrotfish), "unbelievable" for a perfect hit (marlin) and "amazing" for what I thought was another perfect hit (blowfish). Perhaps these adjectives always translate to hit type? Has anyone else determined if great = weak, amazing = good, unbelievable = perfect?

Ariel the cloudrow from the last fishing event reads sold out if you got it at the last event.

  18. -Mir85-

    -Mir85- Living Forum Legend

I think the terms refer to what fish you catch, rather than which spot (which would be more useful :()
    • Unbelievable! = Marlin
    • Incredible! = Octopus
    • Amazing! = Blowfish
    • Great! = Parrotfish
    • Good! = Lobster
    • Nice! = Mackerel

The Marlin exchange value is lower than the Octopus exchange value, which is strange.
    1 Marlin = 25 coins = 3,125 EP + 3,125 CC (25x125)
    1 Octopus = 6,000 EP + 6,000 CC...
