The prizes look excellent! Love that we can choose what to strive for. Thank you for releasing the information on this event with good advance notice.

 

At first glance the game seems improved over the last fishing event. Prizes are appealing, and how nice that items from the previous fishing event are available for those who missed givers! Love being able to choose items to purchase! Looking forward to this event.

 

Got to agree, without actually participating yet, all looks good for a great event. No crops to grow either, always welcome! Let's hope the drops are good enough for us all to get lots of great prizes!

 

I agree with the above statements. Think it's a huge improvement that we get to choose our prizes, as the randomness of the last fishing event's prizes was maddening. And I like that we're guaranteed better rewards for better catches, makes milling premium lures worthwhile. I was not a fan of the last fishing trip, and was therefore skeptical about this one, but if it works as advertised, I'm willing to give it a go . Off to the strategy thread to plan...

Oh, and I LOVE that we can buy the givers from the last event, now maybe I can finish my cloud row!

Feather drop incredibly low. ten pink chickens and two glow worms, + ten classic II on baha, gave 4 feathers in total.

 

farmingfreebird, that deserves some tears I think. Hopefully they pick up. Feathers were scarce all over my farm.

 

Game is much better, the prizes are a nice pick n smile. But why offer a recipe that needs another recipe that we have no word if we are going to be able to get? I would think if ya offer the main one the need to get it would have been included. Sad.

 

There were a lot of players commenting on how hesitant they were to see this event come back. I think it's safe to say, they were very justified in their concerns.

The event is a "Medium Difficulty" event. Yet, I can already see there are going to be some major struggles for a lot of players to reach their goals which would most likely be the current CR, one or two of the past CR givers (Since the event was apparently so poorly done last time a lot of players didn't finish), and one or two of the extra prizes (Such as Golden Bananas). These goals, for a medium level event should not be a struggle.

Combine the issue of drop ratios already looking to be sub-par, especially for a medium event, with the fact that the actual event does not work as intended (see all the technical issues posts where the catches are not correct for specific lures) and you've got the makings of a second poorly designed and implemented event.

It's really no wonder why people hated this event the last time it was done.

 

Apart being able to chose final prizes, I do not see any improvement regarding how precise fishing is and with which lure you are doing it. I have just tried with three different lures and although I scored more or less the perfect catch (meaning to click when the circle becomes green) the best prize I got was with the "basic" fishing lure and deluxe and premium gave rather meager catch. So again it seems that there is nothing to do how precise you are and which lure you choose, the game gives you at the end the fish randomly. OK i will play it as there are no specially efforts needed, just collect usual farm products but some consistency in the correlation between catch and lure used would be appreciated...

 

i am not wasting my time on this event i have no pens out and wont tear up my farm to do so . i will go on farming like i have been and just collect the ep n cc's at the end of event. this is by far the worse event ever put out !

 

I am holding off on a final opinion. The event design and prizes seem nice, but the FAQs don't seem to match the results we are getting. I am hoping this is just an error that will be corrected. If not, then yeah.. the game pretty well stinks. Doesn't matter if the game is nice or not, if you present it as something it is not, then folks are right to be upset. Again, hoping this is just an error that will be fixed.

EDIT: got my response in tech support. According to the game team, the game is functioning the way its supposed to and there are no errors on the chart. The trouble? This does not match what many of us have observed! I cannot come up with a firm answer, but one possibility is that there is just enough lag in relay for those of us in the US and elsewhere that our results are not matching the picture. If this game were very tightly structures, with little room for error, then even a very very small delay in transmission would result in an error.
The only way to prove this would be for people, ideally several (to show its not just an anomaly) should take screen shots of both the target and the results. Unfortunately that also takes fine tuning to get it just right since the pictures change rapidly. In suggestion forum one person suggested NOT targeting the middle. That might be the only solution for some of us. If the target is off in some areas, then we need to make our aim "off". The trouble is, I think we are dealing with some very fine manipulations, with little room for error. The result is that for at least some of us, the result might as well be just random.

I would hope the the team would take ALL of our comments and not just their own tests into consideration. A few of us might well have just seen things wrong, misjudged, but this is happening too often and to people, such as myself, who are taking great pains to ensure we are doing things correctly. I cannot do a screenshot, but I hope someone can, so at least we have firm evidence that we are not just making things up (which is pretty much what the team is implying when they are dismissing our claims).

 

Oddly enough, I actually like this event....except for the incredibly low drop rate. It's a Fishing game - I want to Fish!! Waiting sooooo long for such poor drops is kind of like watching grass grow.....or crops mature, or stables, or - Oh No!! Trees to bear fruit!!
Being able to choose our prizes is great, though.
As for the fishing, it does take a good deal of concentration and precision...but it's doable. Waiting for just the right moment - hey!...just like real fishing!
Just p-l-e-a-s-e fix the drop rate!

 

I hope you will post a correction in the FAQ, currently it reads "please note that the Fishing event is similar to the previous one, but it has been improved! The better your lure is, and the better the spot you catch the fish on, the better is the reward!" There may have been some change, but that is an overstatement. Shoogersweet just confirmed what many players found out the hard way, " All fish can be won from each lure." The chart should also be corrected to reflect this.

Edit: Overall, I enjoyed this event. Gaining very nice prizes without having to grow special crops is wonderful! If you decide to do another fishing event, please either make the targeting graphics clearer or have a popup that tells you which spot was landed on. Visually many of my "perfect" catches did not receive the correct prize based on the chart, and that is frustrating.

 

Just harvested 1 kangaroo, 1 pig sty, 1 cat pen, 1 moose 1 classic ostrich II pen, 1 Neon chicken pen and 2 apple trees. got 2 lures. I had earlier harvested 1 Koi fish workshop and got nothing. so for 7 stables and workshop, I got 2 lures. Not even 1 lure for 3 stables. I do not think the game was improved from last time, except it might be slightly easier to hit the perfect hit.
However I did hit the perfect hit and got a mackerel with a premium lure. So, if any, the improvements seemed to be minimum.
If the drop are improved, may be the bad results from fishing can be overlooked. But with both poor drops rate and still wrong info about what fish we can get with which lures, it is very frustrating.

Edit. harvested 2 Suzy Jumbo trees and got 2 metal hook, and 1 red turkey and got 2 regular hooks.
the drops of regular hooks do not seem low, but as we need the other lures to mill what we need, it is not very helpful.

 

About the low drops:

Bp should realise that it's a fishing event, and although in real life fishing takes a lot of waiting, ..... in a farm game, fishing should be about catching LOTS of fish.... I'd rather that the rewards are costing more coins, than that I catch only a few fish because the lures are so hard to come by.

I mean, this is really unbalanced for a level 95 farm who knows how to play!

So, my feedback: increase the droprates to "plenty" levels. It's NICE to get showered in drop items, and to have PLENTY to fish with, no matter what level you are. Even if the basic lure is plenty and the others are not, even then the farmers get a chance to fish fish fish fish!! Which is the "nice feeling" of the event. Not even the presents, it's the fishing that makes it a nice event....

Now, we're just waiting.... for ten hour stables to mature.... sigh. This does not increase my feeling of accomplishment, just of annoyance that everything takes so long, even with powerfeed and buffs.

I LOVE the fact that the lure only takes a few seconds to make though!! that is wonderful.
and I LOVE the graphics again! I just want to be BUSY with FISHING for a more than a minute in a row, cuz it's so nice to do!

 

Love that you can choose the prizes. I like the actual fishing part.
Drops - so low on my farm that I've already given up hoping for the CR items.

 

lure drop rate far too low. Shame as the event design is good

 

Just harvested 99 Trees got 17 metal hook, that only 17% return. I have trophies to level 28, and all the extra from CR which increase the percentage.....
Harvested 50 stables and workshops and got 26 lure. so got only 50% reward. As the workshop and many stables take a long time to grow, the percentage is EXTREMELY LOW.
But I have many hooks that cannot be used.
If you want to make people happy, increase the lure. I don't mind getting small fish at least I can play the game, but with no drops to think of, I cannot even play the game.
