Hooked on Fishing strategy

Missed 3 harvests. 2 fields of crops gone weeds. Trees saved me. Trailing behind in drops, especially lures.
So far got 627 Coins. Waiting patiently for the next harvest of animal pens. But have hope that I will acquire cloud row, GBs and power feeds. Still ample time left.

 

It is 'Real life' that causes such weeds
They're not a result of perceived dastardly deeds
Thankfully, there are ways to get some more seeds
Everyone can choose for what are their needs!

So make that new lure any way that you want
It's like writing in here, and choosing a font
As long as your lure can make a large splash
There's a chance of turning your fish into cash!

The only 'wrong way' is to keep your mouse still
So "Go Fishing!" now, and go get your fill
And every fisherperson has a tale to spill...
Except no-fish-nerty, whose casts equal nil...

So I've been gone most of the last 2 days, with only enough time to harvest in the morning before I left and in the evening before I went to bed (barely). No idea what my feather/hook/disc catch was, just know I had enough to make 10 premium lures and 14 deluxe. I did catch a marlin and some octopus on the premiums, but overall my catch was better on the deluxe. Got enough points to get the cloud row and all the givers, now will save for the extra goodies, then go and get the other givers from last fishing event if have enough points, then will work on duplicates if can. Surprised I did as well as I did, considering I've been going for over 18 hours, and can barely keep my eyes open, lol. Soon to bed, really looking forward to that!

 

The whale I snagged today was like no other. This one got off the hook, swam around, and came back for more. Maybe the bait will appear in the grapevine in a while.

I knew that character fishin with that boot in the city knew somethin.

WOW!

(Meba, I think I'll set ah spell longer with that character in the city. I'm still holdin bait. hahahaha)

 

I have my new cloud row. Now to work on getting some Mystery stables and trees.

 

Hmmm...on bearbabe, just harvested 25 XXL trees by hand in rain forest, got total of 5 hooks. Is it just me, or do drops seem to be better when you use the harvester to get everything at once? I used harvester coupons the two mornings I had to leave quickly, because I wouldn't have had time to collect otherwise, and it seemed like I got a lot more drops than when I do it by hand.

now it's time to get those wonder trees & stable
will I exchange more deco,only after I got all those miscellanous that I interested.

 

Spots, I think sometimes the harvesters sucks out more drops than doing it by hand

Got the CR and all the trimmings on this farm, CF has got the CR and the two more expensive EP items (which are just sunning themselves on Shipwreck Harbour while waiting for the third EP item to join them in the clouds!) and "accidental"* baby farm got the Harvester Voucher, Wonder Stables and Trees which were very good: Orange Turkey, Dove, Kingfisher and Armadillo - shame I can't feed three of those yet LOL! Trees gave me two Sorb, two XXL Apple, XXL Peach and XL Strawberry so quite a nice "catch"!

* Must have mistyped my user name once and then repeated the error again later and realised I had another farm. Didn't intend to do much with it ... then I got farming chickens and poo making, then did a few FSQs ... don't know where it will end but it is amusing me for a while.

a note on fishing, I am having better luck by aiming for the WEAKEST place -- I really think there must be a time lag or some such that is skewing the results for some of us. If so, then the result you get are not random (other than as the chart indicates), but how much they are skewed will vary depending on your location. I have found what seems to be my "sweet spot" and am getting several mackerals and octopus, only occasional parrotfish or other when I miss that point (note.. NOT the point given in the FAQs, but the point I have found on my own). I suggest maybe trying with the basic lures until you find the best spot, then use the better lures. Or, just consider it random.

I got a lot of feathers to start, because I started with almost all stables and trees, but have since been rotating into crops until I now have a balance. My exact strategy won't work for lower level players, because I have maxed out trophies 3 howie donuts and every high level stall/workshop you can get. HOWEVER, the basic scheme should work. That is, by doing roughly half stalls, half crops and trees (crop or tree --- whatever is the longest item in your inventory), I get a decent balance.

NEWBIES If Mir is correct, then time is all that matters for trees, not EP, not size (unless you have the auto-harvester and can count on no lag harvest). If that is true, then new people should buy apple trees and the highest stalls they can/ build in workshop what they can, to max out the drops. If they happen to level up, then buy as many of the highest stall as they can. Also -- read the general strategies for basic ideas like rotating trophies, etc.

 

My change in strategy of going from fields all of one type of animal to a mix of animals paid off for me this morning. I got the biggest single harvest of lures so far. I was able to make 3 premium and 4 deluxe and snagged enough points to get the new CR and givers and a good percentage of the miscellaneous goodies. Plenty to time left to work on getting the GB, stars and party tickets that I still want and hopefully an extra giver as well.

I've been fighting a cold the past week and the last few days the cold has been winning. I'm thankful I had no crops and had put out all really long term stables and workshops. Apparently my fever and drug induced haze was good for fishing as I caught 5 straight deluxe marlins and am now finished. Anything I get now will go towards extra givers.

Now it's another dose of Nyquil and back to bed.

Drops were discussed in some detail during a previous event. Standard time to completion is the only constant which can be used to develop a drop algorithm which is fair to all players in this game. No other! Again, this standard time can be influenced to some degree. T - I - M - E

With a lot more difficulty one is able to work far less accurately with ep. Having done so, one will still come back to T-I-M-E .

No prediction work for this event for me necessary...... I'm lookin for that whale that will break my pole! For the time being my strategy is to practice with imitations.

I have a lot of drops from crops so I rearranged my farm and put out workshops and stables. I also placed some Bahamarama trees and I found out that I have 5 wonder trees

I still not got too much on how to hit the right circle.
But luck seem on my side, I catch the top fish(marlin) many times,
I think nearly 10 times, few times om preimum, more on deluxe.
So, I got the cloud row, most of mis. items. Now, I had 137coin left,
I still not buy the 5GB, 24hr coupon,2 item I will not buy is PPP & 10stars
(PPP could buy on market, so not woth to waste the coins, stars, come on, I had over
1000 of them,)sticker? If I had 5 coins left at end of event, I may consider it.
Right now, Cont'd mix farming But mainly stable & workshops.
I'm now doing the petting zoo &Noah's art. this 2 quest had droped down when I still at
low CC& then forget about them. Once I want to do them back, they no more give classic II
stable as the animals had color breeding. However, at this event, when animal farming is a must
for lure feather, I find it's the right time to do this two event.
So, for those still had not finished this two quest. It's the good time for finished them.
Of course, the frist condition is you had the CC to buy those basic stables, And if you had
those upgrade stable. put them out, It will really help you if your login time is a bit tight for
timed quest!
