When I am not working and doing all the millions of things I do on a daily basis...I try to find people to rescue dogs from high kill shelters...to either adopt or foster. So today I posted 5 dogs on FB that need homes...its hard and weighs heavy on ones soul. So when I need a reprieve, a moment where the real world doesn't exist...I have this. Sorry to be all mushy, like a said I posted 5 dogs and it hurts like hell...but for a little while it doesn't exist..:sleepy:

You are doing what you can, and it does make a difference. Hope they all find homes. I adopted a rescue sheltie and she was the light of our family throughout her life. Could only hope some other family would be as blessed as we were.

I also rescue and foster dogs for an association here in France.
So many dogs that need homes, on my second foster this year, first was a 3 month old abandoned rottweiler, she went to her new forever home last Saturday, currently have an 8 week old jack Russell cross asleep on my lap, she, along with her littermates was going to be drowned... rescued by a kind person, taken to the pound, where the association took them on, 2 adopted, and this little one is going to her new home this coming Saturday!
When it comes to animal welfare, France is in the dark ages, inbreeding, unplanned litters, and instead of dealing with it, by paying to have the dogs spayed or neutered, they just dispose of the puppies, and then the cycle starts over again.
When they have had enough of one dog, they just dump it and drive off, when they go on holiday, many dont bother kennelling their pets, if it is still there when they come home, yay, if not, oh, lets go and get another one!
Animals here, are not pets, they are just animals. So very sad to see.
In the bigger cities, you have the 'bag' breeds, but in the countryside, the majority of dogs are working breeds, locked up in pens, or chained up, only released if they are huning, otherwise, they don't know what it is to be able to run free, and play.
    Horrible country for animals!

Thank you for sharing. I live in the United States. Similar with the inbreeding-puppy mills. If no one want them they are drowned. Even pet shops which i despise...do the same...they do not humanly put them down, they drown them as well. the police have raided the place and it gets shut down. He opens again and again. we had protesters today-about 75-in front of his newest pet shop. Like u said some people just open the door and drop the dogs. We get a lot of dogs coming up from Kentucky and Georgia-from high skill shelters. Once we can get them out of there and find a foster they have a chance. I have rescued a lot and it weighs on my soul. Last night was hard. I posted 5 dogs. I have to be grateful that one of them is potentially finding a forever home. Thank u-sometimes it just gets rough

Thank you DBAYES. They have no one to defend them but us humans. Thanks guys for giving me an outlet to reach and vent my frustrations and feelings of being overwhelmed when i know the dogs I have been posting...will most likely not make it.

Hi, I do not rescue dogs, but I have found a home for 2 of them in the past 3 years. Unfortunately the first one we adopted died about 6 months after he came to our home :(, but the whippet we are looking after now is very happy, bouncy and very loving :inlove::D
